Yes, painting realistic is more or less a question of technique but you foremost need to be able to truly see what is out there...and this is something people very often don`t care about...they think they truly see but very often they just paint what they THINK there is NOT what there REALLY is. big big difference!

Wow you're so good at that painting ...I watch videos but I loved your water over most peoples I wish and want to be able to do that but I'm afraid I will screw it up. Thank you Alison :-))) People should not try to get into commercial art production at all cost AND if they are not yet ready for this. And knowing when you are good enough is very often the problem...believe me, I had the same issue decades ago...so at the beginning you should just concentrate on getting better while having fun. No fun and you will not continue to paint, that`s unfortunately the way it goes.

Thank you Carole :-))) The beach colours are a mixture of titanium white, Raw Sienna, Lamp black, Cadmium Red and lemon yellow.

@@jeannettestern4885 ich glaub es ging um das feine vermalen der aufgetragenen Farbe, also keine wirklich harten Kanten zu hinterlassen. Deshalb dann mit dem sauberen Pinsel nochmal drüber und ein bisserl "abwedeln", die Kanten weicher machen.

Yes, this is water mixable oil colour. Mixed with purified linseed oil - works really nice :-)))
