You seem to be able to read my mind :-)))) I already work on another water painting with a very dark water where the sunlight is reflecting a lot in a sparkling way, this one will be coming hopefully next Sunday :-)))
@@brennerfineart - That's what I thought, since so far I only painted with Acrylics, you know, and I have managed to do some blending with it, and best yet not only a drying-retarder but to also mix water in with the color and to go over it when half-dry. I have painted walls before, even with wall-paper which makes it so much harder due to the wall-paper absorbing moisture very quickly. Hello. This is beautiful! I have a question though. I'm a beginner and am really struggling with blending. My paint dries way to fast. Even when I use retarder. Can you please offer me any tips? Thank you kindly.
Thank you Kelly :-))) Well...I guess you work with acrylics....after a couple of months after I started to paint (meanwhile decades ago) I switched to oils just because I hated that acrylics just are dry the moment you put them on. I have no experience with drying retarders used with acrylics, but perhaps you can just use a bit more of it to keep the paint from drying too quickly? Or you could switch to oils...they are really far easier to work with. And when you use just some purified linseed oil for thinning them down and clean your brushes with water and soap (that`s what I do since I started with the oils and I have a handful of brushes out of this time that STILL work brilliantly, so there is no need for harsh thinner or white spirit or turpentine) there are no health risks.
@@brennerfineart Thank you so much for your advice and sharing with me all of your great advice! I think I will look into oil painting! Thank you again! 😊

These water mixable oil colours have really foul odor. I suppose they're healthier than traditional oil colours but that odor is really heavy and chemical-like.
@@brennerfineart I use them too.
