      @iterminator309 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@pete7354 don't know where you got that info from, that said I have a G17. Which I understand is just the 17.3 inch version of the same hardware.
      It might have better thermals due to the larger chassis, I presume it has a larger battery than the G15, although I could be wrong, I haven't done such in depth research on it, just pulled the trigger on it because I found it in stock at a fair price (in a third world country). And I really am not dissatisfied or disappointed. Given current hardware prices... Good luck building a similarly specced PC for the same price in South Africa. With a 2060 going for R11000 ($699) this laptop is an absolute steal at R18000 ($1120 with 16GB RAM and 1TB M.2 NVMe), laptop hardware historically used to be a whole lot weaker than desktop equivalents, that is decidedly less so nowadays. And yes the desktop 2060 has a tiny bit more oomph than a comparable 3050, although not enough to justify itself. But I get portability that you won't get with a desktop. And don't forget to factor peripherals into your desktop's price. It is useless without a screen, keybo or mouse. So aint worth building where I am, not even buying pre-built. Oh, yes, and rolling blackouts, every 4-6 hours. So don't forget that gen set. Special use case, as I am sure you will be able to understand.
      Specifications mentioned in the listing (checks out with Asus' site as well as a couple of reviewers)
      sRGB color space 100%
      Adobe RGB profile 73.5%
      Response time 23 ms
      Max. brightness 300 nits
      Do note, that it is first and foremost a gaming laptop, should you use it for anything else, you can't fault it based on its color gamut. Which in my humble (albeit useless) opinion, isn't half bad for what it is, not at thís price point.

    I had the g15 model and the motherboard has just crapped out...affecting everything from not posting every time on boot, booting ok but dropping display altogether when loading windows screen - however, when an hdmi cable is connected it shows the system running just fine...and then when quoted AU$1100 to replace the mobo, i found a factory refurbished a15 for AU$1300 so yeah, I got the a15 instead of replacing the dodgy mobo with another. So far, im not really noticing any real difference in performance - i play destiny 2, call of duty, snowrunner, arma 3, diablo 4 and automobilista 2. My g15 got very hot so i think that particular mobo was just a dud.

    Great video! I bought an Asus ROG Strix G15 G513IM for only 1073 usd yesterday in mint condition with original packaging. It have 1024Gb M.2 NVMe ssd, 144Hz gorgeous 15,6" ips screen, RTX 3060 130W TGP, Ryzen 7 4800H, 16Gb DDR4 3200MHz and 90Wh awesome battery that lasts for at least 8 hours i think. It drains very slowly. ***UPDATE*** I actually returned it after only a few days, although i loved all the RGB on it, it had a keyboard layout that is very weird. So i couldn't stand it and it had a few bugs so i returned it and got my money back and then bought a Legion 5 Pro for 972USD. And i love this beast way more than the Asus G15 G513IM.

    What they didn't mention though is that the Tuf uses keyboard space better. By that I mean that they both have roughly the same base area for the keyboard but the Rog doesn't have a numpad and the wasd isnt as far out to the left as on the Tuf which can mean that if you use the laptop keyboard for gaming the rog could get uncomfortable over time as you turn your head to the left to look at the screen but if I game at home I use a keyboard anyways (and a monitor)

    I have Rog strix g15 with Ryzen 7 4800H, rtx 3060. Im just wondering if in this CPU temps. between 90-95 / 97 degrees is the normal thing? is there something wrong?
    This is what I have, for example, in Cyberpunk in turbo mode (arm crate) on settings: high / ultra, temp is 90-97 , about the Witcher from 85-95 (on uber), all with a resolution of 1920x1080. The maximum temps on this Ryzen 4800H from specs is like 105 degrees. Only then, when the processor reaches this temperature, does throttling appear? Any could help me with this question?

    What laptop is the best? i am an IT student

    • @iterminator309
      @iterminator309 2 ปีที่แล้ว +9

      Anything based on AMD. It is the best value right now. AMD splits its H-series Ryzen Mobile processors into categories, much like Intel does with its Core line. Whereas there are Ryzen 3 chips in the lower-powered U-series line, H-series is meant for gaming and creating, so AMD starts with a Ryzen 3 and goes up to a Ryzen 9.
      Ryzen 3 - 4 cores, 8 threads
      Ryzen 5 - 6 cores, 12 threads
      Ryzen 7 - 8 cores, 16 threads
      Ryzen 9 - 8 cores, 16 threads
      The Ryzen 3 5300U, based on the Zen 2 architecture, sits alone and should be reserved for low-impact work only. You should find it in budget laptops looking to keep cost down and performance modest. Although you might consider this instead of an i3.
      Ryzen 5 chips start at a 15W TDP with six cores and 12 threads, but only the 5600U uses the new Zen 3 architecture with a larger cache and better overall performance. Stick with the 5600U for the better buy in this regard.
      The Ryzen 5 5000 U-series CPUs should be reserved for heavier work and even some light gaming. The six cores provide lots of power, yet they don't cost as much as the Ryzen 7. Also, the IGPU isn't half bad. And they give decent battery life.
      There are two U-7series options, with the Ryzen 7 5700U sticking with Zen 2 while the Ryzen 7 5800U moves up to the new Zen 3. These CPUs are cut out for heavy multitasking thanks to eight cores, and they'll even handle a fair bit of gaming thanks to their integrated graphics which is quite good. Go with the Ryzen 7 5800U for best results thanks to the larger cache and better overall performance.
      If you are looking for a thin and light notebook with excellent performance should opt for the Ryzen 7. Extra cores and a higher boost clock mean more power compared to Ryzen 5 and Ryzen 3, power consumption is still relatively modest.
      AMD has also announced Ryzen PRO 5000 Mobile CPUs for business-focused PCs. AMD focuses on unhindered productivity thanks to strong performance and long battery life, rigid security from multiple angles with AMD Shadow Stack, Secured Core PC, and FIPS 140-3 certification, and easy enterprise deployment and management with long-lasting durability.
      These Ryzen PRO CPUs are technically included in the U-series lineup, and they compete with Intel Core vPro options. They're all using the Zen 3 architecture, they're all built on a 7nm node, and all have a 15W TDP.
      Zen 3 architecture, which originally launched with desktop CPUs like the AMD Ryzen 7 5800X and AMD Ryzen 9 5950X, has been refined for the mobile space. There is twice as much L3 cache as the Ryzen 4000 Mobile chips, and the L3 cache unification means it can be accessed by all cores
      With the work refining the 7nm process comes also extended battery life. AMD has provided some numbers based on MobileMark 2018's battery rundown. The AMD Ryzen 7 PRO 3700U hit up to 7.2 hours while the Ryzen 7 PRO 4750U hit up to 16 hours. The Ryzen 7 PRO 5850U tops out at 17.5 hours.
      Lastly as mentioned above anything ending in H like this laptop in the video (Ryzen 7 4800H) is high performance, ergo, it will dramatically drain your battery. However, performance will be satisfying.
      Hope this helps, I also studied IT, getting a job in a market where everyone and their dog "thinks" they know what they are doing - is quite tough. The running joke in my country is when you tell someone that you are a qualified IT technician, they typically ask how long you've been unemployed.
      I'm working in agriculture now, grain grading, storage and handling (silo management) not terribly exciting, but pays the bills.
