      don't make it public that you are about to become a BOSS! I gave up smoking after 15 years, 6 months ago. The only reason i have lasted this long this time, is because I didn't tell a soul what i was doing, and have owned it personally since, like a BOSS! If you tell people you are quiting, they can potentially fuck you up so leave everyone out of the equation (unless you are blessed with a cheerleader family/friend circle). fuck smoking! I have been addicted to smoking for 46 years. I have tried to quit countless times but sadly the longest I was able to not smoke was 7 months. I love Jesus and hate this weakness about me. Talk about guilt and shame. I wasn't really thinking about quitting but I woke up Sunday morning not feeling well. I missed church. Found myself not wanting a cigarette. I decided if I could get through the first twenty four hours maybe I could beat this thing. There have been moments when I came real close to caving in to temptation but was able to push back. It's been 96 hours and with lots of praying, deep breathing, staying busy, sleeping, crying and listening to guided meditations like this one, I'm hanging in one day and sometimes one moment at a time. Your video helped me. Thanks!

      Debra Noble Just hang in there girl. The desire fades as you resist and replace it. Everyday, one day at a time, prove the Christ in you and his ability to lift you out of the flesh (where the lying desire lingers), into the Spirit where freedom is 100% of the time. You can do it. I did it. It's been 4 years. I still have to deal with the thought coming to me tempting me, it's just that I've resisted for so long, I can yield to the Christ, Truth, and he lifts me out much easier now.

    I was a smoker for 20 years. The last 4-5 years of those 20 I kept saying to myself that I needed to quit smoking. I was smoking at least a pack but usually close to 2 packs a day. I kept digging inside of myself looking for a way to stop. I also believed that I was a devout person. I believed that I believe in and fear God. Then, sometime on my 18th or 19th year of smoking, I found a video that talked about that when people set out to do something for something that is sacred for them, they are usually more successful than when they set out to do it just for themselves. I thought this idea was very interesting. I kept thinking about it until I ran into the following passage in Psalm 1:
    Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful.
    But his delight is in the law of the Lord; and in his law doth he meditate day and night.
    And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper.
    The ungodly are not so: but are like the chaff which the wind driveth away.
    Therefore the ungodly shall not stand in the judgment, nor sinners in the congregation of the righteous.
    For the Lord knoweth the way of the righteous: but the way of the ungodly shall perish.
    After I understood this, I knew that I was contradicting myself. We can't say that we believe in God and smoke at the same time. I quit immediately after that cold turkey and since then I never wanted to touch cigarettes again.

      It didn't .. Or rather somehow it did? But amazingly I met up with a guy a friend's friend of mine .. I told him about my addiction and then he asked me if I'm seriously having this thought of quitting and if I'm determined .. I said yes.. He stood up walk over to my table and took my cigarette and bend it crush it .. And threw it into the ashtray .. And he said.. Well then.. U can start now then.. Funny.. It's like a wake up call.. Okay.. My cigarette is gone now.. I have to quit .. And voila! I quit!!! For 2 weeks and smoke back again😂 but well.. It's all because of a temptation.. I know I can quit again since I tried 2 weeks I can do even better this time! :)

    I quit smoking and lost my girlfriend. My girlfriend Lori hated smoking but she put up with me. So I decided in name of my love for her, and to make her happy, I'd quit, and for 9 very difficult days, I laid them down. But to my chagrin, all she did was sarcastically snarl at me, "Well it's about time." Since she didn't care, this broke my heart and I couldn't help but relapse back into smoking again, and she then became downright hostile in how I'd done this. Well I told her, I thought she'd love me for to quit smoking and she'd hug me and profusely praise and thank me, maybe even throw a party to celebrate, what would have made me feel proud and strong for to have quit, but she never appreciated so much as to even one single time, thank me, what destroyed my motivation to stay smoke free. She didn't care if I quit smoking. She didn't care at all, and this started the big fight that broke us up. The way she hated smoking, I still do not completely understand

    I smoked for 25 years and now I don't. How I quit? I forced myself to eat all of the cigarette butts in my ash tray!! Part of my tongue started to melt off on this side near the back molars. I also chained smoked about 3 cigarettes in about 10 minutes or so and I threw up!!! April 16th, 2015 is my quit date. I was done. I give God the praise and all of the Glory for giving me that chance to accept change.

There were some animated ones that explained the benefits and challenges of quitting on a timeline. If you’re trying to quit, I recommend some type of breathing exercises and meditation. I watched this video Saturday night and have not had a cigarette since. Today is Tuesday. I can hardly believe it. I used to smoke a pack a day for 35 years and god help the person who got in my way when I needed a cigarette. I came back to look for this guy but his website doesn't work. I came back to look over what he said because I have been using NLP for several months now to loosen up some of my resistance to quitting. It was working little by little because I was cutting down and I was opening up to being willing to quit. Somehow I found this video - I was not looking for anything about smoking, I think being an NLP practitioner, I was probably looking at something that had to do with Erickson Hypnosis... and this video popped up. I'm trying to analyze it now how that I remember looking at the title of it, I had 2 cigarettes left. I thought to myself, I'll watch this later after I smoke these and then just won't go buy any more. Like just in case it worked, well, I wouldn't have any more in the house. This would not have worked without the video because I would just walk across the street and get another pack. The one thing that got me was when he said, I'm not addicted to cigarettes but the endorphin response, that all made sense to me somehow. I also started thinking about power and freedom and not liking being controlled. But I know this alone wouldn't do it because I have an NLP coach who used that rationale on me over a year ago and although it made sense, it did not get me to stop. The urges were still there even if I wanted to quit, meaning, it would still be a struggle. This time it was not much of a struggle. The little urges that did come up were like little whispers. Not raging cravings that I am used to having. By the first 24 hours, with nicotine being out of my system, I finally got up the nerve to tell my husband I had quit and he is really shocked. I always hear the first 4 days were the hardest and I'm at the end of Day 3 right now. So I came back here to talk about it or learn more, etc. just to give myself something to do to make sure I get into Day 4. I am just so shocked I quit that I want to start to use my NLP and my experience to help others quit too. That's why I'm looking for this guy. I want to ask him about how he came up with everything he said in this video.

    Your concise explanation has been the final tool that I've been missing. I've almost completed day 3 without a cigarette, and I'm feeling so much better already, rather than being stressed because I haven't smoked. Knowing that the nicotine has been the source of my anxiety and not the cure, and that my endorphins are my own to release as I choose (which I am learning how to do) and not at the mercy of some foreign matter that my body doesn't even want has pretty much negated any withdrawal symptoms that I was afraid I would have to deal with.

About the Endorphins just building up and waiting for a cataylist to release itself in the body. Thank you! Your explanation of the why we smoke and how the chemicals interact with our bodies has helped me tremendously! I’m 70 and have smoked on and off quitting for long periods but always return to it when drastically stressed. Now I know why. My mind is remembering the pleasure. I quit again a year ago and started cheating here and there. Now I’m determined to stay young and feel good and know even the occasional cheat is poisoning my body! I’ve been listening to sleep hypnosis each night for a week and although it’s helping somewhat it was your presentation, especially the body’s reaction to being poisoned, that has impressed me so much that today is the day! I will exercise or clean or simply read and relax when I need a break and keep re-playing your video in my mind. Wish me 🍀.

    You're advice is right on. I watched your video 13 days ago and it has helped me to quit smoking. I've kept the mind set that I don't want the nicotine to draw me back in again of needing it over and over. I totally agree that smoking creates way more stress than it relieves. I quit for 14 years and it only took one puff off someone's cigarette and within weeks I was back smoking again. It has taken me 5 years now to finally quit again. Thanks for your video!!! It's made quitting much easier!!! I remember after I quit the first time after about a year there was nothing that would make me smoke again. I remember believing that with all my heart for the 14 years. Then one day someone really hurts my feelings and I take a puff. I will never do that again!!!

    I am from England and a few days ago, I played in a volleyball match. When I preformed one of my jump serves, I saw the ball touch the opponet's side of the court with no opposition getting to it, I got a massive massive rush of endorphin chemicals and I felt so high from it..I rekon I got more than a smoker ever will! I got this just by playing sport..I am a proud non drinker, and non smoker..I have never tried any of them also.

    • @strikebot1

    • @mastercaution7031

      James Crampton-Thomas To be 'proud' of never having had a smoke or a drink is a little absurd... not doing something that you've never tried in the first place takes no effort on your part whatsoever. It's not an accomplishment, and especially not at your (obviously) young age.
      If I can go 17 years without punching a nun, or cracking myself in the face with a bat, is that an accomplishment too? I would argue that a real accomplishment is sucking it up and quitting after a vice has a hold of you.
      If you're interested in not coming off like a smarmy dick, you might practice a little empathy. Example: I've never tried heroin, and I'm glad... but it took no effort. In fact, I'm damn lucky that I haven't experienced the kind of social and environmental deficiencies that drive other young people to do so. So I won't trivialize a plight I don't understand by saying "oh you don't need that smack, mate - just play a sport or do a hobby! Cause everyone in the world is privileged with the time and means to engage in leisure activities like me!"

    • @strikebot1
      @strikebot1 10 ปีที่แล้ว

      "Empathy" for smokers, smokers are actually selfish by giving of their chemicals to those around them, now that is not just exposing yourself to an "environmental deficiency", but also a "social" one too. Now I can gladly say that I am proud that I am not the reason for such deficiencies as I don't smoke and give of the bad chemicals. Smokers are inviting death, non smokers are cheating a premature death..Now if you don't smoke, cheating such a disadvantage is an achievement.. ;)))

    • @tudvalstone
      @tudvalstone 10 ปีที่แล้ว

      So if you haven't tried, how would you know? And I believe when one tries something, he needs to give it a good shot. I am not advising it though. Long term we know there are dangers. I played sports professionally and I know the rush, I don't believe it's endorphins, but adrenalin. A good cigar with great scotch or a glass of nice red wine is something totally different. I would not describe it as a rush.

    • @mastercaution7031
      @mastercaution7031 10 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      James Crampton-Thomas Empathy for everyone is my point, boy. A time may well come when you have a problem of your own that a quick bout of volleyball won't fix. Karma's a bitch - you'll know it when it happens.

    Wow this really helps. I was planning on quitting in 2 days time after I get my prescription for recently diagnosed severe COPD. This video makes so much sense so I'm going to keep replaying this as needed and make the change one craving at a time, minute by minute or hour by hour and starting today

      just what i found to curve the craving just enough. left me with the bitter flat flavor. kept me busy for 5 mins. and was quick and easy. im today 4 months without any ciggerettes. i find myself busy cleaning and improving everyday with all my extra time.
      my biggest opsticle was the fact that ive smoked for lets say half my life. changing the habit was the hardest hurdle. the contant thought patterns i had while smoking had to be broken. having to find an all new routine was one of the trickiest parts about it.
      tons to say///ask away if you like.

    Great video thanks. My physical response to lighting a cigarette has become so acute that I would have hot flushes and anxiety. My body simply could not deal with the toxicity any longer despite the endorphin release which - as I understand - is released in cases of physical injury and/or poisoning. Your video helped me to focus on this idea. I also loved the use of the words empower and freedom. I once stopped for 4 years and when ask how I felt about it, my stock response was: It is the most liberating thing I have ever done! Another powerful point you make is that nicotine does NOT help stress - the endorphins help stress! I will focus on this going forward because the emotional stress trigger is what started me up again after 4 yours.

It is a bottomless money pit , and ive been having lung problems, like pains as of late. Hopefully i can do it and im not too late. Good luck to all you who struggle and are reading this.

    At the beggining of this video I was kinda calling #thehypnoticcoach a bunch of crap, I'm on my third day and that feeling on the chest is really strong, but after watching the whole video I feel a lot better. This is not to quit smoke, but if anyone is already on to quitting, watching the video actually helps to understand that pressure you're feeling.

    I have COPD. Ive smoked for 35 yrs already. Ive tried to give up before a few times but to no avail. I manage 2 wks and then my willpower seems to crash. I will be trying again as ive noticed my condition seems to have worsened overnight and im sick of the anxiety now. Everytime I feel like a cig ive decided ill reward my lungs for a change and do some breathing exercizes, and month end treat myself to a wash and blow wave etc from the money saved! Thanks for a great vid! 😊

      Have you considered the possibility that this isn't the first place this video has been shown? He said "95% of the people I've dealt with" he's clearly some sort of doctor or smoking support worker? Maybe 14% of his clients he has shown this video too gave up smoking and that's why he uploaded it? Just saying..😂
