A true legend Waylon Jennings was and is. Our new generations know nothing about country music. I still listen to Walon's music on vinyl and it takes me back in time, an era of great country music. Sadly, its all history now but good thing is that we have been part of it. And like George Jones once said " There ain't nothing in the world like country music" and that is so very true.
I believe waylon was truly the happiest on stage with the lights on him and one of the best supporting bands at his back. I've never seen any footage of him playing live where he wasn't smiling and having fun with the band and the audience. The world was blessed by this man making music and we lost him to early... I feel he had more to give the music world.
Wasn't he just! Sex on legs. 💓😍 And that voice is perfection, we lost the best when he passed away. I can't imagine how Jessi and his family coped with losing him.
I'm digging that 1980 Mr. Lucky's performance. You can watch the whole thing here. Love the intro with 'Are You Sure Hank Done It This Way' playing and the girls dancing at Red Rocks to it. I was only two when that aired and would give anything to go back. Now I play it for my kids and tell them this is the ONLY country music - Outlaw Country.
Waylon was like a God to me during my early years to his death. One of my top five musicians. Waylon has a lot to contribute to Ralph "pick it moon" Mooney. RIP Both of you.
This man was such a talent! Good looking, charming, talented singer & guitar player & such a presence on stage & on tv! He was simply the best country performer ever!
Same here only it was Thrash, Black and Death Metal and Outlaw Country (specifically Waylon). One of the best concerts I have been to is Hank III where the Cowboy hats were on one side of the venue and leather jackets and .308 bullet belts were on the other side. One of the rowdiest concerts I've seen. And that's including all the SLAYER shows we got bloodied at.
I could just watch these old performances all day. Lol, well actually, I've been watching everything Waylon for about 11 hours so far today. Can't get enough of his voice, plus he's wonderful to look at. Mmm, mmm, mmm. *Edit* Why would this just end mid-song? SO frustrating!
Jessie is a special woman...following Waylon from beginning to end it took a woman deeply and truly in love to deal with all she did...truly a saint to deal with his shenanigans...and I say this with love as no bigger fan than I...but a Realist...i still listen to the Outlaws for hours...they were truly a gifted couple and he taken too soon...and his son is his image.
I love at 11:16 you can see the gentleman next to waylon crack up laughing like that "bookity bookity bookity boo" wasn't planned lol. Almost like music used to be about having fun with the band and crowd while you make the music or somethin.
When Waylon ripped into those leads with his guitar and the band followed that’s the best sound to ever happen in Country Music in my opinion.
Yeah Man Hoss !!

Probably my favorite country singer of all time, great beat to each song
something primitive and primal in his music that speaks to the neanderthal in us all
He was something.
And he had the greatest steel guitarist ever!...in incomparable Ralph Mooney!
The foot that made Merle famous!

I wish I could’ve seen ol Hoss live

Sex on legs is about right.A true legend and no mistake.🐻🤗👍
Best voice ever!
Waylon took bad assery to a whole nother level . a long time ago has got to be the most autobiographical song he ever did.
He did another song later called “cactus Texas” that is somewhat.
Love me some bad assery!🤗
“I’ve always been crazy” is fairly honest as well....
This is one of my favorite live performances of all time. ✌️

Where do you think rock n roll came from ... just sayin’
Waylon got his first big gig playing for Buddy Holly

Waylon Jennings, Dean Martin , Elvis Presley = Kings of Cool !
And Lemmy of Motorhead. I'd say Waylon and Lemmy might take the title.
@@Ruger44Redhawk …. I can definitely agree to that
I totale agree. I am a big fan of All 3

Find another player/writer/performer similar to him.
Don’t forget his awesome personality and big heart.
Let me know what you come up with....
At 5:58 you can see his songwriting buddy Harlan Howard in the audience in a blue shirt.
