Yeah Waylon was one 1⃣ of the original outlaws , and a true living legend of Country music 🎶 , and now Country music 🎶 has lost another beloved performer and leader trying to keep Country music 🎶 as alive and well , as possible 🙆 which unfortunately moves newer singer songwriters up the leadership ladder , but I for one 1⃣ think newer stars like Chris Stapleton and Jamey Johnson are pretty much ready replace the stars ( Waylon Jennings , Willie Nelson and others) Who have passed recently , and the best we can hope for is that those who have videos of the classic singers and their music 🎶 will share them with new fans of Country music 🎶 so they're exposed to the best performers of the past , and their music 🎶 to go along with the best of the new and rising stars leading the latest revival in the popularity of Country music 🎶 , which I for one 1⃣ am more than happy to see , since I was born in the 50's and raised on the music 🎶 of Hank Williams Sr , and then Hank Jr , Waylon Jennings , Willie Nelson, Johnny Cash Ferlin Husky , and others, all of whom are no longer here , so we can hear and enjoy their classic songs 😊😅😮😢😂❤😂😊❤😊❤
@anitaericsson4581 can only agree, not sure about county music over past 30 years, somethin just not right, might be my age, Waylon is brilliant, though i gotta say his version of The Taker is a distant second when compared to the Marty Robbins effort.

This live version is so much better than the album cut. I love it. And I'm hearing 87 of his songs today to celebrate his 87th birthday. Such a pleasure I have allowed myself!!
Waylon Jennings is the best. I used to listen to his music for hours in the 80s and now I’m doing again in 2018, 35 to 40 years later. I think his music is timeless. It applied to my life then and it applies to my life now. I have a boyfriend who is the love of my life and Waylons and Jessi’s love songs give me the chills. I love you Waylon and Jessi too.
Years ago, I met Waylon after one of his concerts. To this day, I STILL remember was a cool guy he was. P.S. Waylon was also SUPER SEXY...needless to say, that’s what I remember the most!
You said it Joyce, I named my son Waylon obviously after Waylon Jennings, because I love his music so much. And every year I find a new classic song that I've never heard before. It's like opening up a Christmas gift in the Middle of June.
Never heard this song of Waylon's before. WOW.......Never heard a song so brutally honest about how some men treat women. Waylon went there...... Thank you Waylon - you were a down to earth yet brilliant man. I sure do miss him.
Sorry to write again but just listened to We Had It All. Oh what a beautiful one of a kind voice. His emotions show through at times I see the pain. Gorgeous song.
I started listening to country about ten years ago and this era is what I heard first and will die with. The so called country now a days is bullshit. It’s all about drinking and hanging out in your pickup truck. This was real life storytelling said through a song. RIP Waylon, you had a stranglehold on country since the first time you stepped on a stage.
My wife and I have seen Waylon many times. Every time he would come to the NYC area we were there. Last time Tammy Wynette was the warm up person. Unforgettable show. We were so fortunate to get in. I regret not seeing Tom T. Hall and the Possum, George Jones live.
To amazingly written and performed songs..,Waylon could sing them all and make you feel every word....no matter if he's rock n rolling or singing songs like these that require a whole different feel and approach Waylon was very diverse..
GoFaster58 Maybe you can help me. I’m trying to find the building he recording the 76 live album in. Part was in Austin. Found it. But the Dallas show was at a place called the Western Palace or place. I can’t find anything about it. Would you know? What was Duke Goff like?
My three heroes are Cash, Kristofferson, and this man. Isn't it great when your heroes are also fans of each other? The taker was written by Kris. This is my favorite Waylon period, he just looks so hungry and intense, just count how many times he closes his eyes just "feeling" the music! The man was much softer and deeper than some may remember. I absolutely love how his legend just continues to grow, thank goodness for you tube!
+Tommy Petersen I had not heard this song before, but I was thinking it sounded like Kristofferson's style. Thanks for that info. Cash, Kristofferson and Waylon are my favorite 3 too.

By far the best version of this song. Mooney killing it like he always did mixed with how Waylon sang that night was absolute perfection. I wish the sound quality was a little better but judging by what I've found of this show I'm just extremely thankful that the uploader shared it in any quality! I'd love to watch the entire show!
This music is the only 🎶 needs to be carried forward and never left to collect dust. Thank you Waylon for carrying your sound and soul above and beyond 🙏 ❤ God bless you. Robert Knight
I don't believe it's from the Waylon Live performances. Those were recorded from shows done in Sep 74'. The crowd was louder and more fired up for those shows, and I also did not hear Roger Crabtree's harmonica on this version of The Taker. Been painstakingly looking for video footage of those performances for years, but I'm convinced none exist. Still, this is awesome stuff!!!
I wonder where that guitar is today....Waylon's catalog alone puts current so-called country to shame, add then Haggard, Cash, Willie, Jones just level current pop country
The year I was born ... I am so lucky I saw real music and real clothing.... and I still listen to this music and I still dress like that ... to me 70’s and 80’s were the best times ... Waylon is prime , his sound nobody can touch it ... his sound blow my mind . Thank you for uploading this diamond

Waylon does this Kristofferson song perfectly.
This song was not written by Kris Kristofferson. It was written by Troy Seals and Donnie Fritts for Waylon’s 1973 album, “Honky Tonk Heroes”.
Let us pray for the 54 poor lost souls that disliked this video.
