Thanks Rick, always look forward to your very well done informative videos!!! In my opinion you provide the best vlogs and videos on the internet, Thank You!!!
Another great review, Rick. I really like what PGY has done. I ended up going with the Mavmount instead because while I think the PGY construction is solid, I like the pivot mount on the Mavmount more. What I do like about the PGY is that their tablet adapter goes from mini to large and with the Mavmount, you actually have to purchase both a mini and large adapter. The weight and balance if the Mavmount is a little better in my hands than the PGY. But either mount is still a solid choice. Looking forward to seeing some more excellent reviews from you as I have purchased a few things from your store because of your reviews. Everything you've recommended that I thought would benefit me has been spot on. Again, a great review.
Thanks for the info. Good to know an Ipad mini4 will fit the controller without an adapter. For me,and I am not a fan of Apple, the Ipad mini4 is the best size, and best performer for the job, I use one on my P4, nothing else comes close. Keep up the good work, I enjoy your videos.
I have this adapter and so far it's been good to me. The only issue I could see is that the plastic knob could fail and that would be a very easy fix. It's built pretty rock solid though.
Thanks for the post and I like that holder as well. I just reviewed another new one that has a hidden compartment in the base to hold filters and tools.
I need this for my Phantom 3! I want to use my Galaxy Tab E Lite. The P3 clamp is just a bit too small and I haven't found a suitable replacement that allows me to keep the controller compact as I don't have the backpack yet.
Great overview. I really appreciate your attention to detail and evaluation from an engineering standpoint. I just ordered one of these based on your review.
Thanks for your -as always - very articulate and fantastic reviews :) I have 2 qestions about something else, the new Mavic Air 2: 1. do you know if Mavic Air 2 is compatible with the dji GS Pro (the free Ipad version)? 2. do you know if the US version with ADS-B sensor has slightly higher weight and shorter fly time compared to the EU-version that currently comes without the ADS-B sensor? Thanks for your time.
HI Rick! Great video. I have a new mavic Pro and coming from a phantom 3 pro I'm struggling to figure out which tablet / setup to use. I"m about your age and I just don't like flying with my iphone 6s. The screen is just too small. I knee jerked and purchased a mavmount for my Ipad Air 2 yet this tablet is too big. SO before I do anything else I'd like to get your recommendation. Now seems I saw a video you did about the perfect tabliet to use with the Mavic Pro. I can't find that video again. Could you post the link for me to it? Ipads are so expensive and being you can't upgrade the memory if possible I'd like to buy a nice samsung tablet if it will work well with the Mavic. I think the video you did goes through these options. Any help you can porvide would get great. I got the Mavic before Thanksgiving and have flown it only once because I can't get comfortable with tne tiny iphone screen or the too big Ipad air I have. Thx!
Thanks for the post and I'm glad you like the tablet adapter. It's a clever design that folds flat for transport and anything that takes up less room in my kit is a good thing.
I like the idea it's just I have had problems with ball joint screw in types before specially if you're using an iPad or something heavier. Still a good review and for that you got a 👍🏼
For what its worth I'd like to see a tablet solution for drones. My Nexus 7 tablet is almost worthless when flying in broad daylight. I'm hearing some rumblings about the Nvidia shield tablet and who knows when CrystalSky will be available. I'd like to hear what others are using and a comparison between tablets. Thanks.
can you use a tablet without celluar data on any DJI drone. im thinking on getting a tablet because this product and another different tablet holder looks good. i enjoy watching you reviews a whole lot..
Rick, Love the content! Could you create an updated video on some of the laws about drones here in the states? I need to acquire my Part 107 license and would love some fresh new info (if there is any) Thank you :)
Nice video (as always) and a nice looking product. Two questions: a) Does it fit the Spark adaptor and b) Can I use it with a Samsung S7 smartphone using an OTG cable?
I have this the only problem is that somehow both of the screws holding the ball assembly to the plate fell out. It worked well while if was together. ;)
I disagree, I ordered this holder and found the hinge could not hold the weight of the iPad pro 9.3. The aluminum base is nice but there is no way to adjust the tensions on the hinge. With my wrists between the controller and the tablet it was very uncomfortable to hold, I don't have think arms but there just wasn't enough space between the 2. Maybe I got a bad one, but it is long gone and was replaced with the long holder you demo'ed before.
Hi, just subscribed to your channel. Thanks for all the informative content. I have a question about something not related to this particular video. Virtually everywhere I go, the B4UFLY app says that I am within 5 mi radius of an airport, when there isn't even one. Wanting to know why the app keeps displaying this message, I found out that this app recognizes heliports as airports. It's very time-consuming for anyone to call every heliports that show up in the list. What's you take on this? Thank you in advance.
Do you always have to do such an intelligent concise and comprehensive review? It makes the rest look like Neanderthals. After all I consider myself somewhat of an idiot savant, more idiot than savant. Lol , But seriously it's always enjoyable watching your videos that make it easy for us laymen. Keep up the good work brother.
David, I have more of these arriving late this week and found 2 more that I was holding for other orders that were put off until their Mavics arrive. I just adjusted the website of you want to place the order quickly I can ship it today. Thanks, Rick
Eric, thanks for the post and I'm glad you're enjoying the clips. The website is a side thing that I started to allow some of my subscribers to buy the things I use and review. I am thinking of updating it to be a little more snazzy so stay tuned. Rick
Something everyone should be aware of is that this device will not hold a tablet that is in a protective case. This seems like a major shortfall in the design. Everything else seems well thought out, but don't most people have cases on their expensive tablets? Why not allow for this in the design? Very disappointing.
Wow, that's a bit harsh and I'm hoping you would grade the clip based on the content I provide. I have actually answered your other posts but two of them were simply comments and didn't require a reply. Also, I get a lot of activity on the channel and it's nearly impossible to answer all of the questions and comments. I do the best I can with the spare time I have. Go back and check your comments and you'll see that I have responded. I hope this turns the TD into a TU. Rick
Drone Valley Yes, unfortunately for social media, particularly YT, viewers sometimes consider video offerings as some form of help desk. I don't think that Rick has ever posted his vids with that expectation, or want to spend endless hours doing correspondence - better to go beat up on the manufacturers if dissatisfied with "service."
Well, maybe you should be aware of the type of question before you butt in. The question was specifically about his experience about interference, so no manufacturer could answer that.
If you put an ipad mini 4 in the holder you cannot see the controller ! turn the base plate upside down, now you can see the controller but the ipad flops about as there is now no stop for it, being upside down, quite frankly it is a waste of money ! Not very well thought out or designed !
Just ordered the adapter from your store....looks like what I have been looking for...thanks for sharing

I already have this adapter and love it, works great this an IPad. Keep the great videos coming.

Another excellent video, love your reviews, I have this tablet holder, it's awesome. Best wishes from downunder. 🇦🇺
Which one do you prefer? This one or your more recent video with the mount that also folds and has a hidden storage compartment. Thanks.
Thank you for your advices. This one really looks promising. If I end up getting the Mavic, I would definitely buy this adapter from you...
Nice product, good job Rick!
Looks like a great setup.
I like a hell awfull alot your videos. Subscribed earlier already and leaved a comment. Thank you sir.
Nice review! That's the holder I use. Just waiting on my iPad 4 mini.
Thanks for the post and I like that holder as well. I just reviewed another new one that has a hidden compartment in the base to hold filters and tools.

That's really nice, Talked me into buying one.
Great review Rick!!
Was interesting for me, since I use the NVidia Shield with my P3A. Still considering the Mavic Pro purchase ..
Thanks that was a very helpful review.
Great overview. I really appreciate your attention to detail and evaluation from an engineering standpoint. I just ordered one of these based on your review.
Love your content! BTW, the ASUS ZenPad Z8 fits nicely into the arms of the Mavic controller....that's my setup.
Thanks for your -as always - very articulate and fantastic reviews :)

Esto se ajustaria en una tablet de 14,6 pulgadas?

How big was the large tablets width? I have tab s7+ it's 7.3 inches wide im hoping it will fit
It say;s you are sold out, will you be getting more of these? Your vids are great..
would this be ok for the mini2 controller
I like the idea it's just I have had problems with ball joint screw in types before specially if you're using an iPad or something heavier. Still a good review and for that you got a 👍🏼
pat lucas same here. Always ends in a pain
Is it suitable for the spark controller?
so is this all stock? or different type of antennas? thanks

Does the tablet need to be a cellular model?
i.e) is your ipad mini 4 cellular or just wifi?
good video ...
I need one. I am old and can't see. Thanks Rick

Yes, you just won't be able to update your map.
That is the kind I got for my 10.1" Samsung Galaxy Tab 3.
excellent video - I need it
Send me an email (rick@dronevalley.com). I have a question for you. Rick

you should add the clips that didn't work that way people will know what's going on with them.
Your web site is sold out.
Don, sorry about that. I have a few more in stock and just updated the page so feel free to order one if you still want one. Thanks, Rick
Thanks
Drone Valley no link????

Constructive Criticism, hope you don't mind. You videos are EXCELLENT, why is your website so basic??? Love your work, Thank You!!!

I feel like it could fall and the tablet breaks. They should release a mavic pro + like phantom 4 pro + with the screen
TD for never answering my question on a previous video.
