Brett, I agree with you 100% about using an iPad but I just can not work with the iPad blocking the controller and that is why I use the iPad Mini. To me, it is a perfect monitor. it fits perfectly in the open arm of the DJI controller, is easy to see and leaves the controls clear. It makes it all one piece like the smart controller without the high price.
@@brettgaramella I understand what you are saying. I guess it, for me, is like driving my car with cardboard over the dash. I don't really need to see it most of the time but when I need help I want to see it right away. I have tried those holders many times. I hve a drawer full of them but once I tried the iPad mini I was sold. To each his own, right. Thanks for all you do Brett. Hope you saw my vid on digital audio.
I agree fully. Unfortunately the mini 2 doesn't seem to have the horsepower to run the DJI Fly app properly so I upgraded to the new Mini ipad 5 and find I now have zero problems. I figure the money I spent to upgrade the ipad to the newest version will mean when I order my Mavic Zoom later this year, I can forgo the extra expense of the Smart controller. Plus I still have the mini 5 for other uses. But the screen on either of the mini's is beautiful for flying
Hey Brett will a 7gen iPad 32gb work with drone and how do you get maps with the WiFi version if u could help me with this I would be most thankful I see iPads are on sale and I don’t kno which one to choose or will a 5th gen iPad Pro or 5th gen work with Mavic 2
I have the iPad holder and cable, but can't find Fly app for my DJI Mini. I see other posts, where pilots are using iPads with the Mavic Mini, but no one can tell me what software they are using. DJI says FLY app is not compatible with the iPad, only iPhone.
Thank you for your video. Like you I always try to get the monitor in the shade but I also always use a black or shirt or jacket because it reflects a lot less light. /Lars
Photographer... not a drone pilot... A photographer who uses a drone to do photography. You're a good photographer.... You're not a drone pilot. The drone is the pilot, you are the photographer. Zero piloting required. DJI users calling themselves a pilot is like a guy putting a camera on the hood of an F1 race car, taking pictures with it while telling the driver where to go, and calling themselves an F1 race driver. You just can't...

Do you recommend the 12.9 or 11 inch iPad Pro when flying?
some mounts are Under some Over and some Above , which is most comfortable ?
Hi! Can I safely RTH on my Mavic Mini, on the 2019 Apple iPad Mini 5-Gen. (Wi-Fi ONLY) , without the (CELLULAR $100 extra)?
