      I can answer that for you they're both identical in terms of quality... They just use different compression the choice is yours if you're using a Mac it's easier to use mov for workflow if you use anything else, PC, Android etc... Use MP4
      ;)

    I just bought a Mavic Pro this week and this was by far the best instruction video on all the settings. The Mavic has a ton of settings and I had no idea what most of them were for until now. Thanks for the video!

    I am new to drones and have watched too many videos and read too much till I watched your "The Best DJI Go 4 Settings For the Mavic Pro" video. Great job! Easy to follow, good explanations as to why or why you don't use certain settings. Recommendation to newbies plan on pausing a lot to make following easier and don't skip if you don't understand, replay. Thanks Billy

    Really nice tips, Billy. Thanks for sharing. At 19:02 regarding RTH a little advice I took for myself and I guess it might be good to share with you and your audience is that when flying indoors it might be safe to set that for HOVER, cause we don't want our drone climbing up to the roof and... crash! Better stay at where it lost control and hover so you can move toward it to try regain control. When you go back outdoors remember to reset it to Return-To-Home. Well that's it. Thanks again and keep up the good work!

    Nice tutorial, very deep in all the settings, I found it very helpfull even after 2 years. Just I could not agree with some settings you use, like the discharge battery time. It’s very important if you want to keep your battery in good condition, to discharge your battery after a couple of days as Litium batteries will last less if you keep them for too long fully charged or in the opposit situation. Then other settings I keep in a different way, but thats why your tutorial is interesting, I like to see from different poi t of view.
    Thanks for sharing your knowledge. 👍🏻

    Great job as always, Billy. If I may offer a suggestion, it'd be helpful to mention that the a/c must be connected for most of these settings, although that will be obvious to the users who don't get the appropriate screens when attempting to follow along. Thanks for the effort!

      "the a/c must be connected for most of these settings"??! I assume that you don't mean air conditioning. Alternating current? Aircraft? If the latter how can you hear him over the fans? Is there a text or tabular presentation of the talk?

  • @Adventure-with-Drew
    @Adventure-with-Drew 7 ปีที่แล้ว

    Hey man. Great video.
    Just a quick note. You mentioned smart RTH on the Mavic pro follows your original route back.
    That's actually not the case on the Mavic pro. That's only an Inspire 2 feature.
    On everything but the Inspire 2, smart RTH just means that the drone will initiate an RTH sequence once your battery indicator hits the point of no return.
    For example -- if you start with 20 min of flight time and fly out 2 miles and it would take 10 min to fly back, the smart RTH will initiate at the 10 minute mark. You can over-ride this when it pops up or if you let the countdown finish, it will initiate RTH.
    Great video though my friend :)

    Hello Billy, In my personal opinion, you are the best, compared to all the other TH-cam Tutorials out there. I gifted myself a mavic pro for Xmas and having a great time flying, Thanks to all the insight I get from watching your Videos. I have one question. How do I set my DJI GO 4 app to store all the Still Photos on my Iphone, Just as they are taken, Right now I have to go to preview and then download it to my phone. Is there a specific setting, that can do this on its own. Thank you Billy.

    Billy...great video...well thought out and executed. Question on the the "stop motor method"...The "CSC maneuver"...is this the best setting to use so you do not accidentally shut off the motors in mid-air?

    • @OutdoorsIQ
      @OutdoorsIQ 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I'd stick with emergency, there's been documented crashes from drones falling out of the sky due to a CSC. You do use this maneuver, such as orbiting a POI.

    But the only thing I thought was kind of weird was pressing C2 to see battery info. I don't know why you would need that because you have all the battery info you need on your LED screen or right on your phone screen. The C2 could be used for something more useful.

    • @billykyle

      I definitely understand but I have never felt like I needed any more info than what was on the controller LCD or the battery info on your phone. Right on the phone you see the White H when it's going to warn you to come home.. I always just glanced up and look where that is to keep my eyes on the screen..
      But to each his own your videos are awesome thank you so much!!!!

    I have had my Mavic for a few months and have all of your videos along with some very good ones from others. I don’t know if you can answer but let me give it a shot. All of my videos have a blur to them when the Mavic is moving when viewed on my 4K TV viewed using a Mac mini. I have shot in 4K and in 1080P both at 30 Fps. I have it set for 100 using ND filters 4,8, and 16. I’m sure it could be a refresh rate of my TV it is not one of the top of the line. So that’s pretty much it looking forward to your response

    Thanks. I like the pace, no dragging it out, repeating the obvious.
    I don't understand the frame rate and the bit about multiplying by two though. (60/120)

    • @billykyle
      @billykyle  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      In order to achieve the best looking footage we want to set our shutter speed is set to twice the amount of the frame rate. This will ensure the movement in our video looks natural. For instance, when shooting at a framerate of 30, use a shutter speed of 60. When shooting at a framerate of 60, use a shutter speed of 120. When shooting at a framerate of 120, use a shutter speed of 240.

    Hey Billy. Question about doing a CSC Maneuver in Mid Flight. There are 2 options in the GO4 App:
    “CSC Maneuver”
    “Use in Emergencies Only”
    What is the difference? I want to make sure I can rearm the Mavic if I ever need to cut motors off and turn them on mid flight.

    Billy thanks for your contribution for the Mavic. I have a question some times I changed my device, do I have to change the setting for each device?

      Billy Kyle. Thanks for your quick response to my question but I forget one. When taking off my Mavic climb to approx 10ft before it will hover and record its position. Can that altitude be lowered? Thanks in advance.

      Can not be lowered, sorry about that man

      +Michael Kaplan I believe they are transferred over to sport, but I could be wrong. So .40 across the board

    Billy, how do you make the video recording of your visuals on the iPhone? Is there an app that you're using? Thanks. Keep up the great work.

    Thanks for video. Is the home point settings what I need to change to have the drone come back to the controller? Because I am on a boat; and it is constantly moving. Thank you!

  • @etab83
    @etab83 7 ปีที่แล้ว

    Great video. I use the same settings. When ever I engage RTH the mavic controller warns me that obstical avoidance will be disabled when returning to home?

    • @billykyle
      @billykyle  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      That might be due to you not having the settings enabled for obstacle avoidance to be enabled during RTH.

    Very thorough, thank you. One question though. Do you know if it is possible to change the ISO on the fly from the remote? Seems like the right wheel will only control the shutter.

    • @billykyle
      @billykyle  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      It is dedicated to shutter. On the Phantom remote you can change this by actually clicking the wheel, but the Mavic does not have that ability.

    • @SheenHL
      @SheenHL 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Actually, I figured out that you can customize the C1 to toggle the right wheel to control the ISO or Shutter and only the C1, for some reason C2 doesn't have that option.

    Hey Billy, Thanks for the video. I thought I would try your settings but for some reason all objects on screen have red edges.
    Do you know why, or how to get rid of this? It's not the LEDs.

    • @billykyle
      @billykyle  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      +JAG That is from the focus threshold. If it's red, it's in focus. It makes it easy to tell if your footage looks focused or is out of focus.

  • @CalebBramsen
    @CalebBramsen 7 ปีที่แล้ว

    Hey man, in the man controller settings, since you turned your EXP up, does that make movements slower or faster?
    And same for that setting under sensitivity. For example you set brake to 100 and factory is 130. Does your setting make the Mavic brake faster or slower?

  • @poggi747

    Billy thanks for this vid, just when I thought I knew everything about my settings, you thought me something new. Just one question. For the stop motor method, I always had mine set to “for use in emergency only” in your setting you have CSC, won’t both methods with sticks in or out shut the motor down? Is there a difference?

    • @billykyle
      @billykyle  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      No problem Carl! Glad to help! There is no difference between the methods. You can either do inwards or outwards and it will work.

      Im currently using a jerry rigged set up using a capture card and my apple tv. Sometimes AirShou goes down and you'll need to wait just a few days for the certificate to reauthorize.
