Green Arrow is a fine character. In Justice League Unlimited, he's basically a main character recruited to the league to keep them honest and bring back an old school sense of super hero-ing, but fully admits he's just a guy with arrows compared to all the other people in the league. In Young Justice he's given a fun role as a man who is also trying to do the raising a protege thing but keeps screwing it up/having the worst things happen to his trainees. JLU really shows you how a DC expanded universe can be done right without hack screenwriters forcing gritty tones.
Justice League Unlimited nailed a lot of major and minor characters flawlessly. It's a mark of high quality writing when Batman and Booster Gold both feel like the best version of the characters.
I think one of my favorite things is whenever Rich does his impression of a big, dumb, hulking monster, like his impression of Bane in the last Injustice 2 stream and his impression of Super Shredder in this one XD
Regarding Rich's "train suicide" story, I guess it's depressingly-common for train engineers to get PTSD from having to watch suicidal people take their lives via train while not being able to do anything about it, since trains don't exactly stop on a dime. Brutal stuff.
I think the animations are very good, but have entered the uncanny valley. A level of realism has been reached that makes people no longer judge these visuals as "obvious game graphics admirably getting some realistic details right", but as "photorealistic images that get some details wrong."
For comparison, I didn't have many if any problems with the facial animations in MGSV and that game's a couple of years older, yet looks better in my eyes.
To add to your analogy the Beatles sold better than Nickleback, and they were doing a lot of experimental stuff that didn't always make sense to people.

The result: Wolverine was dead for about 3 years, Batman had 8 active titles while he was "dead" and came back to life THE NEXT ISSUE, before James Gordon even got his Gundam Batman suit ready. The moral of the story is, Marvel is a bunch of good for nothing hacks that suck in everything they do and DC is just all around objectively better at everything
