My headcanon is similar but also the polar opposite, my headcanon is that the Yeager as well as most other ships in the "Frankenstein fleet" were "oh god we need ships yesterday!" panic builds using what ever materials Starfleet could get their hands even if the end result looked like it was made by one really drunk Warhammer 40k Ork mek and ran about as well also. Since it was (barely) functional ship the fleet could use to stop the dominion. So obviously these all were one of a kind as they were not meant to built in the first place and in any other time would have been a really bad idea (tm), but Starfleet was desperate for ships and couldn't be picky about what they got.
Dude this is the perfect head canon idea for the Yeager the ship always bugged me as to why its got the new shiny of the line front and then the arse end of a beaten old system patrol craft
MacGyver class. Q was in a episode of MacGyver so in my head cannon he was cruising alternate timelines and thought MacGyver with his sick ass neck warmer deserved a starship who is just as suave as he was.
I like your head canon. I'll add my own that some of the Maquis engineers who were captured by Starfleet were offered a work release program to help refit the Yeager.
Problem is that there aren't many. Normally when I need images of a ship I just use STO, but the Yeager isn't in STO. All I could find was a render used by Eaglemoss (which I guess I could've used in the video itself and not just the thumbnail), but the rest were that shot from DS9 that it's in, or just the actual filming model.
I like this. Making it a one of a kind ship instead of a class is much more palatable as a class designed around such an odd fusion makes no sense whatsoever.

It received an official class designation. This means there is AT LEAST a second one. Also, it looks awesome.
No, it didn't. It's called the Yeager-type because there has been no canon confirmation of a class name.
I like this head canon. The idea of the Yeager being a one and done is an interesting idea. With that being said, T6 Pathyeager when? Lol
