    Great Video, I just wanted to mention something about the voltage issue. If you order this from Amazon, there is a Note in the description about the voltage setting. Not sure if this was there before you ordered, if you even ordered it from Amazon, but wanted to do a PSA on it.
    [ NOTE】:For safety reasons, the factory default voltage setting is 230V. For users in the U.S. Please switch it to 115V in advance, otherwise the machine will not turn on.

    • @thehardwareguy
      @thehardwareguy  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      The user manual that comes with the printer explains this clearly too. Usually the printer is set to the correct voltage based on your location. But always double check.

    can anyone helkp me with this problem. So when ever i go to print something with 100 speed and 100 extrusion like when ever it starts to go kinda fast it acts like its running into a wall and then it says filliment has ran out when i can see the filliment is being threaded through and its not the second one either because i see the red light on so can anyone help

    try the ArcWelding post process, I have it set up for my Prusa Mk3a and Prusaslicer automatically applies the post process... makes the printer quieter and reduces the clunks which means you can crank the prusa speed up to 150%+!

    I opened my printer for the firs time the day before yesterday. The look and feel is exactly what I have seen on all the reviews I have watched.
    My issues started when I tried to start printing. Some of these are most definitely due to my lack of knowledge, but there are many that I could not find a clear explanation.
    The one that is most annoying and frustrating is when I try to do a print, the first layer does not seem to stick to the printer bed. This is something that I could not explain because I did an auto leveling process. (my printer does not offer a manual leveling process.) After the auto-leveling process, I then used the paper to adjust the head height as I found online.
    I then did the pre-heating. I found it possible to adjust the heat of head 1 but could not pre-heat head 2.
    When I tried to print the crocodile, the first layer of the body went well, but then it creates 4 separate feet, one of the feet does not seem to stick to the bed, meaning that on the second pass of the print, the loose foot stuck to the printer head and destroyed the rest of the print.
    I also have an issue with the being clogged after such a failure. Now the filament is not passing through.
    Any idea and advice would be very much appreciated.
    Thanks
    Lawrence
    PS: Also I paid for the extra laser engraver for the printer, this was not included. I have mailed support but as yet no reply.

    • @thehardwareguy
      @thehardwareguy  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hi Lawrence, sounds like your first layer height needs to be a little closer to the bed. Seems odd that your firmware version does not have manual levelling option, is your firmware up to date?. You can still manually level the bed even without the software feature though, just move the extruder/bed around by hand to all 5 positions and level like I showed in the video. In regard to pre-heating, the printer only has one nozzle which is used for both extruders. Did you resolve your issues with the printer?

    do you have to unplug the laser module from the printer each time you want to 3d print. Or can the laser module stay plugged in the entire time?

    • @thehardwareguy
      @thehardwareguy  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      When the laser is plugged in, the printer boots up into "laser" mode. To boot back into "print" mode, the laser must be unplugged

    Hi, my name is Felipe, I apologize for my English, I am not British. I am about to buy this machine and I was surprised by the results of its tests. But I still have a question. Does this machine only accept the manufacturer's own slicing software or can I use the most popular ones?

    • @thehardwareguy
      @thehardwareguy  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hi Felipe, yes you should be able to use any slicer, but you will have to play round with the settings to achieve the best print quality! Whereas the manufacturers software is already optimised. You can copy the print settings over as a starting point, I have successfully used Prusa Slicer with this printer 👍🏻

    • @AndrewduToit
      @AndrewduToit 3 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      Well I take the Price of a roll of filament and divide it by 1000 for a 1kg roll to get the price per gram. Then I multiply by the grams of the finished print to get the net price of the filament. Then I multiply by the time in hours printing. and if there was any time spent designing the part I add that by the rate I charge per hour. Then I add my markup. eg. ((R480/1000) x grams of finished part) x print time + (time spent designing in hours x rate/h) x % markup. I hope this helps.

    • @ricardo-iw9sq
      @ricardo-iw9sq 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@AndrewduToit thanks, I was just curious because some say they charge £10 per hour and one guy said £2 per print hour+setting up+what filement that's as long as a stl file is supplied, if they have to design then extra £15 per hour. Just sounds to cheap.

    • @AndrewduToit
      @AndrewduToit 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@ricardo-iw9sq Yes, that sounds too cheap but it also depends how available the item you are printing is. See if they are asking you to print it, it's probably because they could not find the item anywhere and so they will pay almost anything for that item. The old demand and supply thing.

      How do you figure, because it has the same frame layout? Everything else about the Shark is different.
      I would go with a Ender 3 v2 over this, Lotmaxx abandons their customers and their firmware is closed source.
