Brings back memories of my 1985 Dodge Daytona Turbo. Black on black, every option except the Turbo Z package. It had the turbo but no side cladding or lower air dam. I learned to drive a stick with it. Super fun car, great MPG too!
This was amazing to see. My first car I purchased for $800 was a silver 84 non turbo Daytona, just like this one. This paint is much cleaner, mine had oxidation. I remember having to repair the sheet metal in the spare tire compartment because the previous owner had water leak in under that rear hatch, and rusted it from the inside out. I had those headlight covers and factory wheels with hub caps. Seeing this video was a total blast from the past. Took me back to being 16, and even though it was 10 years old, it was my sports car. Thank you for sharing, this video brought back some fun memories!
Thanks for sharing..Awesome to read..We are giving this car away...Subscribe to the Channel fir a chance to win...No purchase necessary...More videos to come on this car.
I had one of those new ,with the turbo and black and white check interior very fun car to drive and fast ! Also I still have the Labra for it and a manual and a plastic model of one But car is long gone ,was going to only summer drive it but like everything life happens ! Nice to see this there are very few around anymore ! Mine was a 1984 same body different wing on back and wheels which lots of hole in them nice look for sure for aluminum wheels !
Nice car you have there. I'm a retired Chrysler Engineer and worked on the development team for the 2.2L Turbo I, Turbo II and Turbo IV along with the 2.5L Turbo I. Fun projects but long hours and very stressful at times. Kind regards and thanks
That was a nice car ! My first new car was an 84 Charger 2.2 with manual. It was pretty peppy for its time. I like the 2.2 decals and quad headlights more than the Shelby front end.
I remember them little 4cyclindes! They put them in literally everything in the 80s and 90s. I've done a ton of timing belts and CV joints in them k cars! Hope I win it!
Overall a very clean looking Daytona. I love these cars also. I had a silver turbo Daytona I bought new back in 84'. And have had several Daytonas over the years, all turbos. I currently have a black 5spd 84' Daytona turbo z with 58k miles I bought from the orig VA owner almost 20 years ago. These cars are getting hard to find now. I hope the new owner takes car of it. I wish I lived in a warm state in a rural area with a nice garage like yours lol.
I would daily drive that. I remember seeing those everywhere when I was a kid. My parents had a yellow Plymouth TC3 very similar. That would be so cool to have and I'm in Tennessee so close to me.
@@BustedRadialGarage I did subscribe to the channel. The car is awesome but I have never won anything but I will keep watching with my fingers crossed.
Saw you deal a lot with mopars, had to subscribe...I had a daytona that I bought back in the early 2000's, picked it up for $500...that's back when no one cared about them...mine was an automatic, red and an 86 model...same buddy style as yours...I was on my way to get some tires for it, only had it for 2 weeks, came around a blind corner and a semi hauling a backhoe was jack knifed in the road, didn't have the time to stop, so it got totaled...man was I upset, it was in nearly the condition yours is, the rubber molding above the drivers side marker was peeling, that was all the body damage the car had, and someone replaced the timing belt, and didn't align the distributor drive gear correctly, so it fell on it's face when accelerating...I had so many plans for that car, but I guess it wasn't meant to be...Glad to see this one is going to find a good home, thank you for saving this old mopar.
I sat in one of those on the dealership lot back in the 80’s. It was burgundy non turbo. The turbo ones were too far out of my price range. Sadly so was the non turbo 😆. You fooled your dog! He didn’t think there would be any burnouts with that one!
Just a little back story, my 1985 Dodge Daytona was just like this but it was an automatic. My mother died in April 1989, my dad bought me the car in July 1989 with only 30k on it. I was 15. In the little town I lived in (Bean Station, TN) we crused around the next little town over. I had the windows tented, pioneer super tuner radio, clairion equilizer, with a 300 watt amp, and two 10" MTX custom speaker box in the back. It would really rock. I learned everything about this car (turn the key on 3 or 4 times and it would spit out codes (power engine light would flash to tell what was wrong with it) This brings back so many memories. In 1994 I was the middle car in a 3 car pile up. Got hit from behind at 45mph and slammed in to the car in front of me. The car was totalled. I have been searching for a car like this for a long, long time. If I were to win this car would never be sold and taken care of for the rest of my life.
My gf (Chara)had this same car ,yes non- turbo, I Heard of this channel by typing in the year and model because she is looking for one and they are very hard to fine. So if I win this car I will “do the right thing“.

I am a big Chrysler fan! Now I have a very clean 99 300 with 140k It sits in my garage and try not to drive it much to keep the miles low.
Get yourself a new driver side fender, we got lots of friends on the Daytona group on Facebook shouldn't be a problem at all
Just subscribed...Oh how I want this car.
Awesome..Stay subbed...Giving it away very soon.
