Great video, you missed the cup holders, below the radio there is a slim black bar, push that and two cup holders should pop out, I had a 86 turbo z , fun car, want!

The thing people don't realize is that those turbo Dodge Caravans and Plymouth Voyagers were fun to drive.

Bulletmotorsports, the 1987 Daytona Shelby Z with Turbo II and 5 speed manual was rated at 174HP and 200Lb/ft of torque. The VNT Turbo IV and 5 speed manual (Variable Nozzle Turbo) model Daytona Shelby that you alluded to was a 1990 model year only and that one was rated at 174 HP and 210 Lb/ft of torque. Both the '87 and '90 were 2.2L engines, 135 cubic inches. Thanks for sharing this vehicle. Oh, and the Turbo Dodge Caravan's and Plymouth Voyagers had 2.5L engines or 153 Cubic inches....'89 and '90 only.

I forgot about this car. You never see them on the road.

That is a beautiful Daytona. I had two 87' Shelby Z Daytonas at different times. One was black, 5spd and my daily driver for 9 years. The other was red with the exact same tan color leather int. as the one you're selling but had the Turbo l with an auto. and had lower miles and was even in better shape then the one you're selling. I currently have a 5spd 84' Turbo Z I bought from the orig. VA owner about 20 years ago.

Those are not neck guards. They are rear sunshades because of the large glass area. Nice car!

Looks like you sold it. I'd be curious to know how much it went for. I had an '88 back in the day, red, but otherwise the exact same car. Loved it. Basically gave it away around 2010 to a collector when I couldn't find parts for it for regular repairs anymore. It was a tight machine with no body roll in corners, it was surprisingly quick for a 2.2, and that FWD was great in the snow. Never got stuck once, even during some pretty bad snow storms. Thanks for the video. I enjoyed the memories.

I bought one of these new, kept it for fifteen years and 214,000 miles. Steering felt so much better than the BMW Z4 I eventually replaced it with. Woodgrain dash trim is from a Chrysler Lebanon coupe, it never came in Daytonas

This is heart and very clean car almost look like the Toyota Supra

  • @DigbyOdel-et3xx

The suspension was good on smooth road, but on bumpy roads it caused a lot of body flex. I wasn't dangerous but could feel odd 😂

  • @DigbyOdel-et3xx

One annoying little issue about the gauges. As these cars aged the heat would affect the Hall effect sensor in lower back of engine that supplied the tachometer with the rpms. It was a simple replacement to do. I had this happen to my car.

  • @That_AMC_Guy

Woodgrain is aftermarket in this car. Daytona / Laser would be black plastic trim. Lebaron would have the burled walnut overlays.

  • @larrybone4565

These cars were fast for a 4 cylinder in the 80s

  • @quacksackerthegreatstarfir6996

They were working on an AWD version with a 225 hp engine. I think Lotus was going to build the engines or modify them one....
