I have watched this video many times, like Travis and Susie's reaction. BUT I just spotted Ayumi Dancing in the background at the 11:10 mark. She is just having fun!!
This just shows how deep Japanese guitar talents are. Ayumi just joined Bridear last year, look how good she is! And please follow Saki's new band Nemophila.
As I just watched your reaction to Nemophila, I know you know that Saki is in Nemophila but you may not know that the drummer, Tamu, in this video is the drummer for Nemphila! Great music! These ladies have an abundance of talent. Thanks for reacting to this video!
A lot of folks are not aware that at one time, there was prejudice and resistance to women in hard rock and metal in Japan. Women were expected to be kawaii - cute and childlike, and ideally have a tiny button nose and small mouth and stay quiet and demure. Then, 40 years ago, Show-Ya (notice the name) burst onto the scene and pulverized objections. They were over the top talented, went at least as hard as the guys, and lead singer Keiko Terada was cute in her own way, but opposite the traditional ideal. Her nose had the "Roman" arch of a Barbra Streisand, and her mouth was big... and she rocked it. She strutted and stalked the stage, grinned broadly, sang loudly, and blew peoples' minds. Within a year or so of them hitting the charts, un-kawaii Keiko was voted Sexiest Woman in Japan. They changed the opportunities for women in metal. They changed perceptions of what is possible for women all through Japanese society. They even changed standards of beauty and femininity. They changed everything, and they're still doing it. The badass godmothers of women in metal in Japan.
The final song they did was Kurenai by X Japan, perhaps the most popular Japanese metal song from pre-internet days. Also, the way she moved during the third song was in tribute to the legend Ace Shimizu, who is the guitarist from Seikima-II. Japan has always been filled with musical talent, there's just a lot more females in metal now.
They are from the best japenese female bands but that stuff includes only about 50% or less guitarists on that world class level playing in Japan. That is awesome.
Thanks for the reaction guys. It was worth the wait. Again I want to show some respect for SHOW-YA, who has such a major part in the fantastic development of female rockbands in Japan with their annual festivals. We probably wouldn`t be enjoying Band-Maid, Lovebites, Aldious, Mary`s Blood, Nemophila and many others, if it wasn`t for those strong feminist icons of SHOW-YA. Actually the new superband Nemophila more or less was founded on contacts in the female metal world of Japan. Contacts that probably have been made at those recurring events.
This is an annual salute and Saki (Mary's Blood) and her fingers of steel is the ring leader, the one whose personality you liked. This is such respect and the one from 2018 is even better (IMHO). What is crazy is no Haruka (Asterism), Kanami (Band Maid), Midori or Miyako (Lovebites) etc.... That is how much talent there is in Japan!!!!!Great reaction guys and you have to love the respect they show one another as they truly enjoy playing with one another, not sure you get the same response from the guys, but then again they likely couldn't get into the high heels anyway (LOL)!!!
No Yoshi and Toki from Aldious, no Yuki from D_Drive, no Tomo-zo of Gacharic Spin, no Lisa-X, no Hazuki of Nemophila or many, many other talented Japanese female guitarists in their teens and twenties.
@@ds-zd9qz She doesn't have Jimi's flash ( who does ), but she has his vibe! I saw him live twice and I hope to experience her even more before my time is up.
It is so cool you guys are reacting to things like this--they need a lot more exposure. I've seen several of those girls live with their regular bands, and they just rip it up. And we all owe so much to Show-Ya for nurturing so many of these artists. The U.S. could have had a scene like this but no one took the lead.
That last song was Kurenai from the band X Japan, probably the biggest most influential rock band from Japan. You need to react to that song. Kurenai from The Last Live is probably one of my favorite versions. They basically influenced most of the Japanese musicians you hear now. 🙅🏻♀️
The only performers I know on this days is Tamu and Saki. Could somebody please point out the rest of them for me please so I can find out who they are so I can listen to more of their material.
The one in blue is Sakura Yoshida of Hagane. Next to her in the black is Ayumi, of Bridear. The lady in white is Yashiro, she's a music professor and is actually not in a band, but she sometimes supports Mary's Blood at live shows. Next to Yashiro in the black dress is Marin Miyazawa of LoVendoR.
The amount of female rock and metal talent in Japan is just ridiculous and the joy with which these ladies play is irresistible.

I believe The Runaways tour of Japan was also a big influence.
It's not a battle, it's a cooperation.

Tamu's smile save the world 😃😃 Tamu is the drummer.
Saki(red guitar) & Tamu Murat(drummer) to band Nemophila

@@skoob64 Or one of my very favorites, Mitsuru (ex-Bridear, currently Mada Mitakoto No Nai Sekai). So many great players in this scene...

Sorry for the late reply.
The legendary top rock band in Japan is "BOOWY".
"X JAPAN" also started making music after being influenced by "BOOWY".
You could easily fill en entire Rock/Metal festival line up with all J - Metal bands like those.
More Lovebites
This was awesome. Too much guitar is never enough!
Y’all recognize Saki right? How about the young lady-genius behind the TAMA Blue Silver Star?😄💪🏻🤘🏻
