It’s heartbreaking that we are here watching and being entertained and Joel has to put up with all this collateral damage because of it. Seems very unfair.
Overall it’s totally worth it though. The support from 99% of you more than makes up for it 💙
Entertainment maybe....but after awhile we feel like we actually know and root him on behind a screen. I look forward to updates from him and his life.

Love how Ava saw you upset and came to cheer you up, she's so sweet! Sorry to hear you're dealing with creeps and people overstepping the bounds...seems like all the more reason to not share about Keegan's kids :( People are weird! I love hearing you describe your introverted tendencies as things you love about yourself - honestly I don't think everyone gets what it is to live a quiet life and enjoy your own company.

Joel I think you and your videos are fantastic and am glad to be a VIP member. I have been in the public eye in my community for many years and know how viscous people can be especially behind a computer. One thing a person told me years ago was “What others think of me is none of my business.” Which really helped me out because I was a people pleaser and was too concerned of what others thought of. Just remember you are the number one that matter’s.😊

Awww don’t worry about getting upset in the video. Your feelings are valid and understandable, you’re human! And us “normal people” understand that. A lot of people only show the happy things and good side of things.. and if me, as a viewer, am always seeing these things and this side of people…I’m left feeling like the odd one out when things aren’t feeling so happy for me.. So seeing you getting upset and the reasons, really just makes it feel like we can relate to a degree, ya know? Like it’s normal to be hurt and feel uncomfortable with things and to even cry and get upset. Please don’t apologize for getting upset, really it’s okay. And ya know, some people are just evil and don’t care how they make other people feel.. they just don’t care at all. Try to remember this when you get people saying these hurtful things…and try your best to ignore it…because we can’t control what other people say, only how we react.
Joel, I really felt that last bit of your vid was truly heartbreaking BUT you know what? kudos to YOU for keeping it in because it will remind ALL of us ( the internet) that we should be mindful of boundaries and not be too familiar. It's much like the angry driver who yells or tries to intimidate another driver, they only do it because they don't think there's going to be a consequence, it's the same for internet trolls and fanatics. Pity them for who they are and take solace that if your life wasn't so bloody great with your career, your friends, Keegan, little Ava, owning your own home, travelling the world they wouldn't be so jealous!
My last bit of advice for whatever it's worth is to try and connect with more youtubers than those you already have and with those connections will be others who are going through similar I'm sure. Also your management should have some support in this area for you. With both those things it might help you make sense of it all and hopefully it will feel a lot less personal. Don't give weight to the haters words, they are just words.
Joel, this was a really honest and lovely update. Thank you for being so vulnerable and sharing some of the darker parts of what it’s like being in your position. I can only imagine how challenging it is, as people can be absolutely awful. And the reality is, there are so many unstable people out there, you have to be thoughtful and aware of your safety and well-being. That said, it sounds like you have lots of wonderful people in your life to help keep your mind at ease, and you are very intelligent and reasonable, so I’m sure that wins out most of the time. When it doesn’t? You have gin and tonic! 😂 Keep your chin up and know that the large majority of your fans are good hearted, normal folks who just enjoy watching and being happy for someone who seems like an all-around great guy. 🙏🏼😎

Thanks for your heartfelt sharing of your life and daily 'coming and goings'. It's tragic how mean people can be. If it's any comfort, know that even in nonpublic career paths there are incredibly mean and disgusting people who invest heavily in making others unhappy.

This was a really fun and interesting video Joel!!! I am happy to hear that you have come to the realization that you need to do what is best for you and your mental health. You are never going to be able to please everyone all the time. I am so sorry that you have people that make you feel uncomfortable and unsafe. It would be so easy to say “just ignore them” but for someone that is as kind and sensitive as you, that is not always possible. I know that there are a lot of TH-camrs that I watch who have therapy sessions to help with their mental health. Don’t apologize for showing your feelings!!! You and Keegan are brave to put part of your lives on-line for people to see. I understand your issues with the trolls and people who say inappropriate things and ask very personal questions. As a moderator on a YT livestream cam watching trains in British Columbia, sometimes we have issues with trolls and strange people. But we have the advantage of being able to remove their comments from chat and even banning them. Privileges probably not afforded to you, which is sad. Privacy in this modern world is a priceless and it should be respected. I have only been watching for a few days. But enjoyed all your videos. Keep up the good work.

Joel, I just woke up and was feeling overwhelmed by thoughts of loss and sadness over Mom, Dad and only Brother. Admittedly crying and feeling at ends my first thought like yours was to just STOP what I was feeling so LOL I went straight to my dogs for unconditional love & support. That helped a little as it always has but still the heaviness persisted so next I decided to use distraction so I popped up TH-cam within seconds of scrolling news and Karen stories your clip was in front of me and I could tell you were in distress. So great here I am trying to avoid my sadness and someone I have just recently gotten to know and admire is in the dumps as well. We don't know each other but I know a kind heart when I see one. We put up a strong front and for most part so that we can fend off all the stress of work and people that disappoint us but we have know we are not superhumans' and have a breaking point... we have all dropped drop a spoon at some point that just through us into down spiral. Then we freak out on ourselves because "why did I fall apart over a Spoon". On some level we know that the spoon carried within it all those feelings that we had built and avoided. LOL Back to me now because that was obviously about you (and 1000s of others) So I see you in distress and like myself having puffy eyes from crying. You then shakily try to hold it together start your Q & A and you begin and I hear my name within your first set of questions... was in a fog and was still not awake heard you talking me and was like am I still sleeping? OMG I lost it laughing between tears and trying to figure out if was dreaming or not. Here I am living alone feeling a bit lost looking for some type of validation or understanding of the "whys" in life...Why did this have to happen? Why is this happening to me? Then comes the "How" How I'm going to deal with this " How" am I going to deal everything? I turned to you ...yes you someone half my age who I have never met or spoken with to give me solice. Not only did you lift up them up but I threw them out window . Here is a "Why" Because I needed to try and help you because that is "How" we get through life leaning on each other when we are in need of support. You are under a lot of pressure all anyone has to do is watch your clips you outright say this is all too much...words out of your mouth but not heard with your ears. I think others would agree with me that I would rather a 30 second tidbit of you saying your going relax than a volg of your time stuffing content trying to satisfy all nof us. Bottom line is you have the followers you do because you touch peoples heart in so many ways and best thing is you don't know that you are doing it. So my friend thank you for being so vulnerable allowing us/me in and for just being there as you were for me today, You said you were okay with juicy but neither one of us thought we would have ended up in a blender. Tomorrow will come regardless and who knows what will be on that plate but from right now know you I many thousands care about you. LOL Now I'm going have breakfast and kick my butt out to work on some house projects. (to be continued)
Hi Joel 👋. Oh, man. This video today was one of your best. It was also one of the most upsetting videos for me to watch. I just want to give you a big hug and tell you that things will be okay but I can't even do that. The reason being, as you quite well know, is that the more popular one gets on TH-cam, the more people who are psychologically damaged will crawl out of the woodwork. Several well known people over the years (entertainers, spouses of government leaders, etc) have said that the most hurtful and scary thing that they have had to deal with was the horrendous comments they read about either their families or themselves. One person said that she reached the point where she couldn't read any articles that might contain comments related to her family or herself. Honestly, I don't know how I would deal with that. I do know that you are a good, kind and loving person who doesn't want to intentionally hurt anyone's feelings. I know that you will find strength through realizing that there are so many wonderful people in your life and among your viewers who absolutely, "have your back" and feel your pain watching you tell us of some of these wicked people. Even ignoring them is hard to do but it is probably the only solution to this problem unless you need to take legal action for your own protection (like the stalkers). I know that you will deal with this and get beyond it as you are a strong and resilient person. Joel, My heart goes out to you because you seem like such an open and giving person, I can only imagine how difficult it must be when people with bad intentions take advantage of your genuine open giving nature. All I can say is most of us love you for it and that’s why we follow your channel, it would be a shame to loose that openness but if you ever felt that’s what you needed to do to protect yourself we would understand. ❤
