I loved Amsterdam…. The buildings looked weird or like they might fall down, but it made it even more charming. I also love the banter between you both. Keegan just loves bursting your happy bubble (hilarious). But I can see how much he loves you. He really looks out for you in a very caring way. He’s really a big softy. You’re a great team together. 1. Madame Tussaud's in Amsterdam is great but very pricey!!🤑 2. The bikes RUN the place... they usually just YELL at you instead of using their bell.😳 (personal experience! LOL) 3. The Rijks museum is worth seeing as well as the Van Gogh! 4. *You MUST get to the Anne Frank house early.* We arrived at 8:30am & it took over an hour in line to get in. (fyi) 5. Frites/Fries/chips were originally created in Belgium! So don't know why we call them French Fries? 🤷♀ 6. LOVE facts from Keegan! 🥰
Amsterdam is an an amazing city! I first visited back in 2015 on a study trip with fellow students from University of Southampton and we went over for the weekend, we all loved it there, and we drove through Belgium as well and visited a chocolate store there that had chocolates in all shapes and sizes. The second time I was in Amsterdam was in 2018 when I visited my cousin who lived there at the time with her boyfriend and that was a long weekend stay which was just wonderful too. It's one of the most amazing cities I've been to in Europe and I really wanna go back! And yeah, Royal families are a huge thing here in Scandinavia, we have our Royal family here in Norway (and their controversies, though the King and Queen do make us very proud) and then there's the Swedish Royal family, that you mentioned in the video, whom we are very fond of here in Norway and we are also close to the Danish Royal family.
Amsterdam looks like a wonderful place to visit. Fries, waffles, chocolate, wonky buildings, canals,...what more could you want? Thanks for taking us along.
As a viewer from Amsterdam it was fun to see the city through your eyes. The houses tilt forward to assist with moving furniture in and out via the windows. It’s now done with electric lifts but previously it was done by hoisting with a rope which attaches to the hook extending from the roof. To keep items from banging against the house, the front facade is angled slightly forward to provide room for hoisting vertically.
Amsterdam is a beautiful city. It's a pity you guys didn't have more time to explore. At least it seems you found the red light district. Take care guys.

Even by the time they are around 5 they love decorating the tree with "THEIR" ornaments & laughing. We also include school pics in small hanging frames, cartoon/Disney film related ornaments they have chosen, etc.. It gives them a lifetime of memories by the time they get their own tree. 🥰

Great vlog again! I laughed at the "Shop local" as you walked into Starbucks. I live in Seattle, so it is local! When I first moved here, my grocery store had little signs as banners over locally-produced goods and produce. The rows of Frappucino bottles had the "LOCAL" banners and I thought, "Well, technically, yes... but that's pushing it." 🤣

Continental Europe is very different to the UK. They use different money, different measurements, they speak different languages, drive on the opposite side of the road. Very different food and customs. We might be part of Europe but many Brits don't feel European (not talking about the EU or Brexit, just the culture)

The Royal Palace at Dam Square used to be Amsterdam city hall, and was built in 1648. But it was turned into a Royal Palace when Napoleon took over the Netherlands for a while.

As you are standing there with context all around you, why not pull out your 'phone and Wikipedia up an answer. The Royal Family lives in The Hague, our government centre. This palace is only used for formal things and the Installation (not coronation) over the sovereign and the church beside it.
If you are ever in Japan, the Imperial Palace is something not to miss, at least the gardens are open to the public. The palace, not. Those hideous utility boxes at least around here, our local jurisdiction enlisted the help of local artists to come in and paint them with artwork, mostly desert type designs. Amsterdam is fun. Glad you both had fun seven months ago.

UK is actually still in the European continent. The fact that you leaved the UE doesn't mean you aren't in Europe anymore.. You are still European even if you have different sizes for the cups of coffee. :-)
I'm not talking about Brexit or the EU. 'Continental Europe' or 'Mainland Europe' is used to describe the big land mass that makes up most of Europe. Whilst the UK is in the continent of Europe, because we're an Island we don't count as 'Continental or mainland Europe'. Mainland Europe feels very different to the UK because they use different money, different languages, different measures, drive on the opposite side of the road etc. But we are definitely European! We're just the odd sibling that sticks out as different.

A visit to Anna Frank's house is something you have to plan...You have to reserve tickets ahead...It's crazy I know...love your vlog ;)

You are still European even if you have different sizes for the cups of coffee. :-)
I'm not talking about Brexit or the EU. 'Continental Europe' or 'Mainland Europe' is used to describe the big land mass that makes up most of Europe. Whilst the UK is in the continent of Europe, because we're an Island we don't count as 'Continental or mainland Europe'. Mainland Europe feels very different to the UK because they use different money, different languages, different measures, drive on the opposite side of the road etc. But we are definitely European! We're just the odd sibling that sticks out as different.
