    Hey Joel, I'm coming to the end of week 2 of my own Huel journey. I am literally doing the same thing. I replaced breakfast and lunch. I do add a half cup of blueberries for breakfast and a banana with lunch. I am still eating dinner. I have lost 7 lbs in 2 weeks. I am not in good shape like you so I am really focused on shedding the pounds. Hopefully I can keep it up.

      So its been a like 6 weeks since I started. I am still sticking to it. I have lost about 20 lbs now. I go for a 7 mile hike twice a week and I am feeling great.

    Just a few tips from someone who's been doing Huel for a while :) The white bag is less grainy and much easier to drink lol. I know it has more carbs, but worth noting in case you got sick of the grainy texture. Also, make it the night before with less water and then put it in the fridge. Top it up with water the next day and shake - so much nicer when chilled.
    You should also try the hot and savoury bags, feels much more like a proper meal and it's nice during the cold months :)

      yes totally agree with everything u said..also I think those of us who wanna diet whether its just weight loss or in combination with some weight training have a very hard time finding healthy meals..trying to afford healthy vegan options that aren't filled with plastics for filling or organic meats is VERY expensive..but I found having the huel shakes along with the hot meals has been a blessing..when u don't always have time to cook healthy meals it's easy to opt for something quick that's often unhealthy..the hot huel meals are so good, quick and easy and has improved my diet tremendously..

    Huel works . Been using huel black 9 weeks and I'm 4 stone down. I do 2 shakes a day ( one in morning one at evening) and then have a homemade soup at lunch which is low carb also. Only exercise I do is walking a minimum 10000 steps a day.

      You should weigh everyday and take a weekly average. Weight fluctuates quite a bit on a daily a basis - eg if you drink more water the night before, when did you last go for a shit, did you sweat at night etc

      Weighing every morning will give you more data and you can see why and where you increase/ decrease in weight throughout a normal week.

    I'm bad at eating well 3x/day, underweight my whole life, and I've decided to give huel a go. I'm having two shakes made with whole milk and two snack bars per day plus a regular dinner. I really like it so far, other than the nutrition bars taste like a really good dog food. Here's to hoping i can finally put on 20 or 30 pounds

    Yeah in the beginning I'm assuming you lose a lot of weight from the fiber clearing out your intestines. Most of people have a bunch of poop built up. People say to make it the night before in the fridge and it gives it more of a milkshake texture.

    I have Huel for my lunch at work, so that's one Huel a day five days a week and I'm really enjoying it I don't get as many headaches and I like the fact that five days a week I have a plant based meal that's really good for me.

    Try your Huel with Almond Milk (non sweetened). Also use Huel on your intermittent fasting days (I do the 20-4 regime), I have no issues.

    FYI, when you replace solid food with liquid supplements you lose around 2kg of bowel weight quite quickly - disgusting but true. I suspect this is what happened with you.

      Hi Kate! I had gallstones some years ago and found the best things to eat whilst waiting for surgery was very bland food. This wasn't easy or pleasant. I stayed away from all fats which included dairy. No oils, no nuts, no seeds, no sauces, no spices, no dressings. I even removed the seeds from tomatoes and cucumbers. It must have helped because I didn't get any more attacks before they finally scooped out my horrible gallbladder. I think fat is the prime trigger for attacks. Since the cholecystectomy I haven't had any digestive problems although I know some people do have them.

It's hard to get enough calories into my son, he's probably dropped 35 pounds and we're waiting because it's not 'necessary' surgery right now because of COVID.       Your poor son... I didn't have to wait too long for my op thankfully. Keep ringing up the consultant and GP every week. I used to run hospital operating lists and if the GP kept contacting the consultant I'd get told to bump the patient up the list. It's worth a try.

    When I was in high school I stopped eating snacks and started working out for 30 minutes a day. I lost 20 pounds in 10 days. My dad started freaking out around day 5 because he thought I was becoming anorexic. I wasn't, I love eating to much for that. I just wanted to fit in my clothes better. I seriously don't mean to offend anyone with actual eating disorders. Please remember I was in high school, when I still had a metabolism, which I no longer have.

    I’m just coming to the end of six weeks of cancer treatment and want to start being healthy after such a close call!

    Half of the kilo was likely just stool. Meal shakes are typically absorbed after ingestion and you will urinate the unused nutrients and as a result you won't pass as much stool if at all over time

    Huel worked wonders for me as a person who was having trouble w regular meals that were nutritious. I lost weight while just feeling better in general by replacing lunch w it (previously I would just go out for lunch). My sister gained weight on it but I'm pretty sure it's bc she wasn't being careful w making sure to not overeat.

The first week I couldn't really count because it was pretty much all water weight, but it was still exciting to see that I had lost over 6lbs. Then the week after that I had lost around 2lb. It seemed like every other week I would switch from a little higher and then a little lower but even on my low weeks I would lose just over a 1lb. I replaced breakfast and lunch and would have a high protein, low fat snack in-between and then have a high protein low fat dinner of either white fish like Haddock or Cod or baked chicken (no skin or coating on it) with some sort of veg. Basically I just needed to stay between 1000-1200 calories per day in order to lose weight because I am short so in order to lose weight I had to do low calories. It was much easier to stay in my calorie range because the shakes were low calorie. Also, to make sure I stayed in the range I used My Fitness Pal so I knew how many calories I was eating. Once I stopped using the shakes for meal replacement and went back to old habits I gained weight back of course. I do think it's a good way to stay on track when you want to lose weight. You just have to be mindful of what you are eating if you aren't doing them if you don't want to gain the weight back. It's not for everyone for sure. I was teased a lot when I did it but I ignored them. It's my body and my life. If they aren't into it that's their problem not mine. I think I will get back to my shakes again. I definitely felt better when I drank them. They had way more vitamins and minerals than I would ever eat in a day. Sorry the comment was so long. I did replacement shakes for two years so this was an interesting video and I am glad you are finding something that works with how you live and how you like to eat and make it work each week and can still get results. xx

    Thanks for this video Joel it really clarifies a lot, however there are some benefits you forgotten to mention in your (otherwise great) video
    - the price per meal is incredible low ( definitely if you subscribe)
    - the time you can save during the day and at work is unmatched
    - the peace and love you feel inside your intestines (and the results on the toilet 😄 no joke )
    - the multitude of other flavor’s and products (bars, meals etc) which when combined can make a huge difference in staying committed
    - you did kinda mention this but let met put it in a different perspective: your evening meal can be a great moment ( make that a Keto meal and the Kg will drop even faster)
    -its also very good as a sickness recovery meal since it digests very good and delivers everything the human body needs ( also always 50ml water not to forget)
    I have bin using Huell for a long time now and i swear by it
    I recommend it to anyone in my family
    From my 79 year old dead to my 40 year old brother

    Huel is most likely designed to put you in ketosis. You can Google ketosis or just ask me and I'll explain it further. If your body is in ketosis it means you are burning fat for fuel. It sounds like that's what you want to do. Eating a ketogenic diet is something you can sustain for a long time. It sounds like it's working for you.

    I was actually looking at Huel recently. I just started drinking Kachava which is similar. It's really tastes good. It doesn't have a much protein or calories as what you're drinking but I like it so far. I agree, it doesn't seem sustainable for a long time.
