    Great video. Way over-priced for us to see them reg. in our sky's in my lifetime. When they only have $10K or $15K worth of parts in them. Lets face it . They are crappy cars and crappy aircraft for the money. You be better off buying a Lamborghini or buying a regular ultralight airplane. To bad because these are the things of dreams but in America they must first be the things of greed. I understand growth but who has hundreds of thousands of dollars to spend on "depreciating" toys ? ANSWER: Only rich people and not middle-class people either.

      Thank you. The first cars were also a luxury item, until Ford reduced the cost of production significantly. It will be the same with EVTOLs in 10 years. It is necessary to establish mass production, build a new infrastructure, coordinate regulation, wait for high-capacity batteries...

      @@TopBoxyI hope so. My fear is they will keep everyone believing that it's not necessary because we already have ground transport for 'commoners.' At least, that seems like the argument for not already having done it, when it's definitely possible. The best argument I can think of FOR it, is that it could cut down the time and cost of commuting to work. What confuses me is how people I know laugh at the very idea, as if we are making too much of ourselves to think it's possible- when not only is it possible, it's already happening if you have a fat enough wallet.

    Why didn't you mention the Pop-Up concept of Airbus and Italdesign (Audi)? This design seems to be the most sophisticated and offers door-to-door transport in a single comfortable cabin that can be driven on the road on an EV chassis like a normal electric car. For air transport the cabin is lifted from the chassis by an automatic drone for fast regional transport. To cover larger distances the cabin fits inside the Hyperloop train.

      Mentioned in another video - th-cam.com/video/MbPPS9UTogE/w-d-xo.html
      The idea is interesting, but it didn’t go beyond the prototype...

    The troubles with EV are already evident. Cost: Too expensive (150K-300K); Travel time: Longer than driving there in a gasoline powered car - (a 5 hr charge every 100 miles of flight time= 600 miles in 30 hours); Hazards: EV batteries explode when wet; Health hazard - intense radiation from EMIs, -batteries vulnerable to being turned off immediately by external forces.

    It is not so simple, the “owners” must have to take pilot license and it is expensive and takes time. Besides of that a regulation must be approved.

    OK, so 99 % of cars have 1 person in them.... My concept of the perfect flying car is a "snap on snap off" 1 person 3 wheel lite weight electric golf cart with separate top fitting snap one drone. When you get close to where you need to go you can un snap the cart and go where you want to go. You own the cart but the drone is rented. Keep the cost low and let the drone attachment recharge. You will not get the same one back each time. Lots of city Drone Ports and one at your house. 99% of people can afford it....! Keep it simple...... use what we have....

  • @brainmaker

    Air One is NOT capable of gliding, beware !! And its rudders may look cool but do not work either. The Axe by Skyfly is a kit - which the buyer builds or has an engineer finish - and so qualifies under the kit built certification regimes of US/UK etc - meaning less onerous and shorter certification route than "commercial" which will take years and hundreds of millions. The Air one is double the weight and needs double the power compared to the Axe - so the Air one is much less believable - because it will need twice the battery capacity. It's rotors only and does not benefit from lift from wings, like the Axe does. Result: Air one uses 250kw all the time to keep 2 passengers and its own (heavy!) weight in the air ......... against the tiny 30 kw of energy the Axe by Skyfly needs - and that's where the long range of 1 hours fully electric and 3 hours with hybrid petrol generator comes in. You might want to swap your refundable deposit of your air one to the axe by skyfly..... Also the Axe is designed by renowned and proven engineer Bill Brooks - over 2,000 of aircraft of his 19 designs are flying today .... against the Air one designed by a graphic designer with no aeronautical engineering degree ......

    • @TopBoxy
      @TopBoxy  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Thanks for the useful information. AXE really looks like a more practical solution to the todays problem of transportation, especially taking into account the current low battery density, but a different approach is a more pleasant appearance of the product, more comfortable, with easier operation. And in 10 years, when all certifications have been completed and mass production has been established, when battery density increases and its price drops, the next generation of AIRONE can perhaps be bought for an annual salary, as a premium alternative to EVTOL from IKEA ))

      the point of them is to feel like flying cars

    • @fodank
      @fodank 4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@canaanhagemeister2583 But for the 'content' creator, the point of using the word 'flying cars' is the same as it has been for publications since cars were invented: to sucker in people to purchase their publications. Nowadays that has evolved into the internet and its plethora of clickbait titles and videos. Don't call it a flying car unless that's what it is. It's like you saying the point of your comment is that it feels like a sentence, even though you use zero capitalisation and no punctuation. Sort of looks like a sentence, but it's not. I have no problem with the content, just the idea that they're taking their potential viewers for fools (which they are, in many cases, but that is besides the point.) Cheers, D.
