Had this idea a week before the fools day, couldn't quite get it done in time. Still have some animations in the works for the main channel, but this was a fun jaunt. Now I can get back to beating Elden Ring, 100 hours in and 4 main bosses to go. Hope everyone's been doing well
I thought this was real. But than I saw the date and questioned it. It would have be so cool to play it probably. But I still want the soundtrack of the trailer to hear.
To be fair, jokes aside, the actual gameplay concept here would really work. A comical medieval game with these two gems of characters in would really work. Hell, I would certainly buy it! :)
I love how there's barely any dialogue in this, but there's *still* a worthy addition to the Happy Souls pantheon of quotes. "YOU BOYS NEED A RIIIIIIIIIDE?!?!"
Let's not forget that the FROM games themselves are hilarious and they're secretly writing jokes/gags (ways to kill you hilariously) constantly. Nicely articulated in a Polygon thing recently.
I mean, that's just kinda Dark Souls co-op already (at least, I find it a little goofy), but god I would love a FromSoft soulslike that went all in on the comedy.

I was absolutely not prepared for both how extremely funny and nostalgic that bit was at the end with the pre-order bonuses A LA oldschool gamestop commercials on TV. Just.... the delivery is on point, and the items alone are gold!
Man this could legit be a great game to play coop with a friend and just have fun. a game that is serious to play but doesnt take itself serious with constant commentary but the characters. This is what the gaming community needs man. Please look into making something like this real!
I was really coming around to how fun the idea of a medieval buddy adventure game with souls mechanics would be and then YOU HAD TO PULL THE RUG OUT FROM UNDER ME LIKE THAT
There was one its called hunted:demon forge but its more straight forward like army of two ( you both get a choice in dialogue but if your split the person with the higher affinity for it takes action) was kinda cool you could build a maze that's 10x10 arenas up to 100x100 and fill it with random enemies to fight and loot to grab.
No you should be able to have a bot player, except they say things like, "I wish I had a brain" and "sure would be nice if there was another person controlling me".

Honestly, this is fantastic work for just 3 weeks. Even if you got most of the assets from somewhere (which is how I'd try a project like this in such time), getting everything working even just for animation is impressive.
I'd pay money to a kickstarter to make this if it was a fully voice acted character development game. The real gem would be the fighting duo and their relationship. I think it would actually be a realistic vision.

I wish that their armor would change as they progressed. Like it gets dirtier looses pieces, temporary field repairs. Would add to the comedy to see your shinny knight turn into a dirty armored vagabond as the game progresses. But this is definitely a very cool concept!!!

Contrary to what the Tadpole Treble trailers would have you believe, game development requires quite a bit more than a pile of money to throw at it. Not saying it can't be done, but getting together a team of devs to make a game and then actually getting that game across the finish line is really hard.
Anytime my Fiancee and I say something is down the road, we always follow it up with BOOOOOSS WEEEEEEEAPONS! That animation is the closest she will ever get to playing a souls game xD

BUT. There was a waterfall secret; I'm conflicted.
You never show the swamp in the trailer. Players must find it on their own and feel the despair from crushed tiny hope for it to not be in the game.
