Great video. The head joint cork (dead centre when using the cleaning rod) can be adjusted. It is a factory default position & shouldn't be played aroud with unless you know what you're doing. In my case the Flute was relatively in tune but FLAT to the Orchestra. Pushing the cork a couple of mms to make the tube "shorter" solved the problem. It was very slight. Best to tell your repairer about it. As they say, "Don't try this at home". Thanks again.

Hi, why do you tune using the B flat? Why not use the A?

what scale are you playing at 3:18.. For the life of me I'm unable to find it.. I was able to get back to it playing after many years and being unable to remember this simple scale is just disheartening.

How does one know the frequencies of one's flute ... A440 or whatever?

The manufacturer will specify that. It relates to the position of the holes on the tube. Most flutes are A=440Hz, but some professional orchestras (notably in Europe) tune to A=442 or even A=444, hence higher end flutes are available to those tunings.
No, I don't know why. Twoset Violin had a spoof video about pitch inflation.
