    In this video I see that you use lube on the ends of the brake pads. Did these brakes come with lube or without lube from the (OEM) or Brembo? Thanks!

    Guess the pistons all collapsed themselves? that would have been a good part to show folks...ugh the music!

      Use a pry bar before you remove and replace on the old pads, replace one at a time and the compress the opposite side

      @sparkys7232 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I agree, poor video. No cleaning of the components after removal. Did not compress the pistons back into their bore.

    When taking off caliber what was it you used along with the mallet to get the pin out? Was that just a phillips drill bit perhaps??

    • @torkrench
      @torkrench 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      just use a punch

    Are the back brake the same or different do they also have pins or just normal

  • @ouuniversity

    Where did you get those bolts? If they are Brembo bolts for Brembo Capilers. I need those! I called Cadillac dealer, NAPA, etc... they don't have them. The FSM say to replace them every time you remove those bolts. Did you torque them to 110 Ft lbs?

    • @jgerb8435
      @jgerb8435 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Install new caliper bolts and tighten to 150 Nm (111 lb ft) + 30 degrees. This is for J64 RPO code brakes. I cannot find the part number right now, but I did just get some from dealer...although the first time he ordered wheel hub bolts. Just a word of caution I think nearly everything on the front end of this car is torque to yield and requires replacement after loosening them. The lower yoke bolt, hub bolts, these caliper bolts, ball joint bolts and the lower ball joint hardware all are to be replaced if loosened.

    What size are the 2 bolts used to hold the caliper in place

    Should I use silicone lube between the pins and the stainless steel clips, thanks

    Did you have to push the piston back to slide the pad back in? So there is 2 pins going through each pad?

    • @WissamAbbas
      @WissamAbbas  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      yes you should press the pistons back

    • @incognitoone2909

      Wow I just changed my rear pads on my 2015 cts today. It has almost 100k miles on it and its rear wheel drive. The old rear brakes we're real worn down but the front ones that look like what you got on the front with the pins luckily still have plenty of pad on them so I'm gonna wait on changing them but this will help in the future. Did you also use the new the metal pieces that the pin goes through? Is that pin easy to get out with the pin and mallet?

    So frustrating that they block off the opening so you can’t change the pads with the caliper in place. They are the same caliper as the ATS so it makes no sense because the ATS allows you to remove them like a normal brembo.

    hmmmm, wasn't wearing gloves, placed bolts on the suspension rather than parts tray, impacted bolts holding calipers rather than torque. Not my style thanks,

    such a stupid design. why copy brembo brakes when you're gonna make us slide the entire caliper off anyway.
