Hey scott, David Patterson( ThatDudeInBlue) on TH-cam is building a 2jz 240 and he was gonna run the stock ecu but the ecu and harness are not communicating with each other! he is looking at a megasquirt I guess for the money! you should reach out to him and maybe work something out with him! he has a big reach on the internet and is always going to different car events and things and I feel like it would suit the car better having the haltech! plus I think it would be a lot of good publicity for haltech at the same time! He is a stand-up guy and it would be pretty awesome of you guys to help him out, not to mention what it would say about your company! thanks for your time.
the Elite series is a much more robust (physically) ecu than the megasquirt (maybe aside from the ms3pro), i find the ESP software very user friendly compared to MS and others.
I’m looking at applying this for a moderate setup for a forester stb sf5,shooting for at maximum 400awhp,seeing as how it doesn’t have knock control, what safety features does it employ
I’m confused your website says the 550 has Basic Water Injection • Single Stage Nitrous Control • Single Level Engine Protection • Launch Control • Single Sensor VVT Only* But you say it doesn’t ? Witch is correct? Thanks
The website is correct - we've recently done an update which gave the 550, 750 and 950 a whole bunch of extra features. www.haltech.com/more-is-better-esp-update-gives-more-power-to-the-elite-ecu-users/
Injectors drivers, so to run 8 you would have to run injectors in group fire. So 2 injectors would pulse at once. You would be surprised how many older cars ran group fire. You do the same for coil on plug cars, you fire 2 coils at once in what is called wasted spark.
Hi. I have a old 2006 Yamaha FXHO Cruiser waverunner & looking into a ECU to run the Yamaha MR-1 160hp FX1100a-e engine. Basically to be able to unlock 🔓 the open speed limiter if it has one. I know it has a speed limiter that's activated by a key fob for beginner rides. To unlock 🔓 the 10,000 RPM rev limiter. 🇦🇺
notice you say 550 doesn't come with Flex Fuel input yet on the ECU Comparison table on the Haltech site it says it it is? Can you please confirm for me? Thanks
The 550 did not have a Flex Fuel when it was released (at the time this video was made) but it has had a number of updates since then. One of them was the addition of a Flex Fuel compatibility. You can check out the most up-to-date spec list here: www.haltech.com/product-overview-elite-550/
i see you mention it does not come with anti lag and launch control features, what about rev limiter? im going with a basic setup, hybrid turbo on my fc3s aiming for 280hp-320hp. knowing the rx7 does not have a rev limiter this is my main concern.
I’m tryna look into it too Since it works for the 4g63 dsm and evos and I know 2 people that ran stock evo ecu on there 420a with the 1g cas so I’m 99% that means I could run haltech
Will the haltech elite 550 work on a 2004 Acura TSX 6speed manual K24A2 ? Will it have reverse lockout capability ? Please answer haltech, this can be the the difference from me switching over to haltech🙌

would you kindly comment on the appropriate haltech unit to run my Honda Blackbird XX 2002 model. I want to do away with the factory ECU. The bike did use an O2 probe but now has been removed and bypassed. This infact has caused the bike to run very rich. Without paying over the odds to a tuner head I would rather purchase a New ECU to control my bike Maps. Not entirely sure what block connection it uses but they are big in itself and have a buiilt in HISS protection, I have not mentioned that these bikes are limited electronically in the ECU which I also want gone. Can you help.... I hate friend competition agreement between honda Kawasaki and other major branded bike. I would also state that I would love to have the auto learn unit option on it also. Like the mightcarmods Mini adventure that you have hugely helped out with.
Does your engine model have a cam position sensor on the head, or is it missing completely? If it has one we can run your engine, but if it does not you will find it very difficult to find any full standalone ECU that will run it correctly. If so, running the engine is fairly straight forward and you would use an Elite 1000 or 1500 model to do so. These models support the learning that you have requested. The HISS system will not be working, and no aftermarket ECU will support security functions like this because the ECU is designed for competition use and no race bike uses a coded key to start the engine. To do the learning you would need to also add a WBC1 wideband O2 kit. There will be no limits other than the ones you program into the system.
Being a fuel injected it must have one. been a long while since being under the fuel tank but i think their is. Now, can you do a video on how you talk to the unit please. Would the Elite 550 be good for a everyday driver h22a4 setup?
Yes, definitely; The E550 supports sequential injection and VTEC.
can I use this on my 1995 eclipse build?

What ECU do you suggest mee for a Golf 3 2.0 16v turbo gtx42 900-1000hp ???
For a high-end build like that, I would recommend either the Elite 1500 (for 4x injectors) or Elite 2500 (for 8x injectors).

You can call one of our Dealers or buy it directly from our online store:

Yes, voltage threshold for both arming and activation can be 2D mapped for crank/cam reluctor sensors.
