    We’ve tuned a few of these now and while the closed loop and long term trim/learning is great it can also cause problems if you’re not keeping a close eye on everything.
    Best results I’ve seen come from custom base map with human tuning/adjustments long term trims OFF. Then the nice it’s running on target with no ecu feedback tern the trim back on BUT limit their ability to make large changes so they never “run away” trying to correct around a faulty sensor reading (something as simple as a sticky injector, vacuum leak or exhaust leak pre o2 can lead to big issues when only relying on the self tuning”.

    I just found out that tuning from Android wasn't really that common out there, damn. here in Indonesia, there's a motorcycle oriented performance brand Bintang Racing Team. Their ECU can be tuned with ECU remote, Windows, and Android via Bluetooth. i dont know exactly when they started it, but all i can find is from 2017. im quite proud.
    edit: all methods can be used on the fly! commonly known as live tuning. honestly really convenient.

    • @MRworldEtIkA
      @MRworldEtIkA หลายเดือนก่อน +4

      you're saying it like this particular piggyback is all-in-one piggyback, which in my knowledge is impossible since what piggyback does is manipulate some part of the info given by the sensors and received by the ECU.
      manipulating some part of the information given to the ECU may work just fine, but manipulating the whole information will make the ECU "wait a minute.. somethings not quite right around here" and give you check engine light. it is better, way much better, to just install aftermarket ECU and import your stock tune to it as a baseline like I do.

  • @RePeteAndMe
    @RePeteAndMe 19 วันที่ผ่านมา

    No. Tuning is currently based on quenching. Given that future engines will use externally-located insulated combustion chambers whose inner walls both ignite and violently accelerate the burn, plus internally water cooled cylinders that segregate combustion, the entire concept of "tuning" reduces to stoichiometry and catalytic staged combustion.

      It can be hard to find the right person within a large company to talk to about such things too. Just because someone works for Haltech doesn't mean they know what staff are needed where and when, let alone being able to hire you.
      Just keep asking around, making phone calls and sending emails to companies you'd love to work for and with a bit of luck on the timing you might find the right person who knows of something 😎 - Taz.

    • @hpa101
      @hpa101  หลายเดือนก่อน

      This is focused on the LS at the moment when it comes to what has been shown here. I'm sure they will add other options in time for popular swap options.
      That doesn't stop you from using a Haltech on your 940 project already.
      What is shown is really just a different layout to make what you can already do a little easier to get started with for those new to it all. If your build is mild there is also already a self learning function in Haltechs software you can use too and they're not the only ECU to offer that. Self learning functions are not really suitable for anything crazy and it's not as fast as a competent tuner, but it can be super helpful to get up and running and help you find your way - Taz.

    • @hpa101
      @hpa101  หลายเดือนก่อน

      Don't do a full power base line dyno run on a base map. You can only safely do those when you are using an existing tune before you do your modifications. So before you fitted the cam etc, you would have wanted to put the car on the dyno for the base line run but honestly at this it doesn't matter, it will make what it will make and you'll feel the difference even if you don't know the specific increase and where comparatively.
      If you're on a tight budget, grab an LS base map for the Haltech and do some searching regarding your cam. You can see in their NSP software what that map looks like and 'connect the dots' to transfer it over (manually) to your MicroSquirt.
      Alternatively if you can find on for a MegaSquirt it will look more familiar.
      My suggestion though would be to just do some of our courses. They cover all of this 😎 The MegaSquirt example will apply directly to your MicroSquirt project, it even uses the same software - www.hpacademy.com/blog/how-to-tune-using-megasquirt-online-training-course-tunerstudio/
      Have a look around the website, we also have some free content and remember there is a 60-day refund policy if you decide HPA isn't for you.
      Not trying to put the hard sell on you, it's just you are exactly the type of person we have made these courses for so naturally worth a mention - Taz.

      Andre would probably say the same looking at it from one angle, but also a lot of tuners expect a car to be ready to tune when it shows up to the dyno.
      Tools like this can only help such tuners as well as help owners get a solid start noting even Haltech themselves say the deeper you get, the sooner you will really want to pull out a laptop.
      This is just another tool and like any tool there are right and wrong ways to use it depending on your expectations and needs.
      What we didn't touch on are some ways it might be handy for some quick troubleshooting or interim dash display (I believe you can connect this to an Android etc head unit) so there are a few layers to it for some people/applications beyond initial start up too - Taz.
