      Gray paint over gray concrete.... 😉

    • @deborahbaker5690
      @deborahbaker5690 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      That was my response also...for me seeing all of that beautiful concrete...spray painting over it...especially since it's new...OH MY GOODNESS!!!!

    • @TKCL
      @TKCL  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Trust me, paint doesn't stick to concrete when sprayed from above. It literally dries before it hits the concrete. I even recorded me talking about that but edited it out. Don't forget I sprayed my entire house and porch ceiling with only coverings by the wall. I literally blew the overspray off of the concrete when I was done. Being grey does not hurt things either.

    Lovin'the build process. Looking at something very similar at my house, once the hot weather changes here in Texas. Thank you for sharing.

    I use the same Rustolium hammer finish paint on all sorts of exterior items, such as entryway lights, exterior garage and yard lights, etc. It works great.

    You cannot use galvanized for gas, the galvanized coating will flake off and overtime clog up regulators and burners. Not only that but the moisture in the gas will also cause corrosion inside of the pipe and start causing leaks. Just some friendly advice from a licensed plumber 👨🏻‍🔧

    • @TKCL
      @TKCL  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I am very curious if this is a old wives tale. My pipe was installed by a multi million dollar gas company that services two states and a lot of counties. I also had to have two inspections by the building department which I passed. Galvanized fittings and pipes were in several places during those inspections. The only thing I can find on the net is galvanized pipe decades ago had reactions to gas due to a different manufacturing process that has since been changed. Not saying it isn't allowed where you are, but I'd love to see the UPC code where it isn't allowed. It must not be in the Florida plumbing code for our licensed installers to be putting it in and it passing building inspections. Take care

    The BTU timers would work if you split them up. Put one on the Blackstone and another on the cooktop…. I get why you didn’t want to put them in, but there is a way around the limitations.

    Looking great Andrew, there are a lot of life lessons that you can take with you working on projects like this. I’m midway in updating our outdoor kitchen and have learned so much. Keep an eye out for termites because even though most of my kitchen was metal studs, the pieces that were wood got attacked by termites.

    yeah I prefer the liquid that sets for thread sealer I feel the tape tends to crack fittings over time. just from my own experience. Also I dont feel the videos are too long either but thats just me. Have a great day!

    I think you might want to check only use black pipe and black pipe fittings not galvanized

    • @TKCL
      @TKCL  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I'm using exactly what my gas company ran in my home. The only thing I've ever heard is a old school way of thinking that galvanized pipe could flake and plug an orface. I'm not concerned about that. FYI this is a multi million dollar gas company that did my installation and it passed inspection by the building department with galvanized fittings.

    Are you gonna seal the concrete floor in the kitchen area? Grease spills or fat drippings are pretty much a given in most kitchens.

    • @TKCL
      @TKCL  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Nope, I bought a 8ft rubber mat for that area.

      I would recommend it. Otherwise steel studs, cement siding or paneling, good outdoor paint and all sealed electrical.

    Hey Andrew looking good I wonder if you ever saw any of the TH-cam videos from stonecoat that makes acrylic countertops that look like marble or whatever you want. I think it's cheaper than the tile and you can do some pretty cool stuff design wise with it and boy will it protect the wood

    • @TKCL

      I have, but their coatings concern me around heat.
