April you should lite sand the top edge of the concrete so it's not crisp edge make it a rounded edge but looks fantastic and you are the best I love watching your videos.

That looks AMAZING!!!! I cannot tell you how much I appreciate you and your team taking the time to share the journey with us. I just have one note I would’ve done different on the concrete counters. IF you ever need to replace the sink, it won’t be fun. You used a drop in sink, but it looks like you poured the concrete over the entire lip sandwiching the sink between the concrete counters and the concrete underlayment, basically making it appear as if it is an under mount sink. I would’ve poured the counters first, then dropped in the sink.

Great video! I'm glad I did granite. I started my outdoor kitchen in October of 2022 and finished in June of 2023. Had to work around winter here in Ohio. Such a wonderful challenge and such a rewarding result. Stainless drawers, granite tops and cultured stone infields. I basically started it to give my Big Green Egg , wood and charcoal and BGE accessories a home I cannot overstate how much storage you need for all that stuff and how much planning that takes. One 12' unit for storage, a 6' unit for the BGE and beer refrigerator and pop and a 5 for unit for a wine refrigerator. In the end, my planning tool was what do you need out there so that you don't have to repeatedly go in the house. A rack for utensils, sink (water), dish soap, garbage bin, a bing for fire starter cubes, a long lighter and a hair dryer to fan the fire in the beginning, a rack for wine glasses, in drawer paper towels, pam. Don't forget the music and speakers. Downlights, electrical outlets? Switches to turn the refrigerators off in the winter? The most challenging, but one of the most rewarding projects I have ever done. I think including the granite, the stainless uinits and the refrigerators included I did it all for under $19,000.

What a great project! You convinced me to go with their aggregate bags as opposed to quickrete or sakrete. I used the same system on an outdoor firepit and planning to use for my outdoor kitchen. Looks like you installed the cabinets before the countertops were totally cured. Curious if you got cracking as a result. A little "patina" adds character. well done!!

Nice cabinets under the concrete countertops. We are building out-of-pocket and are using tool cabinets for most of our base cabinets as we find it’s much denser storage and deep drawers beat swing-open under cabinet storage for us.

Loving the outdoor kitchen series, and hoping to see its various features highlighted in a big cookout/get-together video with friends and family! Been watching your YT videos for years, and very much enjoyed seeing you on _Assembly Required_ -- I search every so often to see whether you've been picked up for a season 2 (fingers crossed!). Question on the sink install: With the concrete running in past the sink's lip, preventing its ever being lifted out, what if it had to be replaced or pulled for some reason? Cut the cement board from underneath around the lip and drop the sink? Not a criticism of your build, but just one of the issues I've thought about that's so far prevented my trying concrete countertops. Anyway, great content, as always!

I've only done one concrete countertop for an inside space using the melanine frame, outdoor cure and then flip method, and it was .. like you said, a LOT of work, but in the end worth it.
I'm currently debating between doing a plywood + hardiboard + tile and seal method for a surface which will see some rain.
I feel like doing a full concrete counter experience is really depending on the capabilities of the forms, and those plastic bits you showed seemed to work better than I had expected. We also ran our reicpricoating saw with no blade on the edges while facing to good impact.
This build of yours needs some "Reacts" videos from contractors.. I'd imaging this was a $120k build. in most environments.

Beautiful outdoor space. I just finished a concrete bathroom countertop. I used the Concrete Countertop Solutions products as well. Unfortunately the surface is more rustic (showing aggregate) than I had hoped for. I have been told that my timing on using the steel trowel was the reason. Now that the tile backsplash is finished I am learning to like the look. I may make a coffee tabletop with leftover product to see if I can improve my technique….I want to learn from my mistakes.

The first concrete countertops were made upside down so the aggregate would be seen when flipped over. Now no one wants to see the aggregate.
I just replaced my basement floor from 1890's. The concrete truck broke down in the driveway and could not move but could pour concrete. The floor did not come out good due to the truck breaking. I ended up grinding the entire floor and it looks awesome with the aggregate showing.

Love a raised bullnose on formica tops. No one has done this since granite trend began. Light grey color goes well w everything.

This looks fantastic April! We've been looking at making concrete counter tops this weekend so this is great timing. I live in the UK. Do you know where in the UK I can get the concreter counter top solutions from Counterform or anything similar? Or do you have any suggestions on what to do to create the rim?

Outstanding work as usual. Love the outdoor kitchen. I would love a video of Tim Allen and Richard Karns and their families come over for a barbecue.

Dull smooth oscillating tool blades cut dura rock like butter with nearly no dust. It’s crazy awesome and I use my old blades.
