    I would add a metal sheet under the grill on top of the plywood. For grease spills cleanup. Could you add heavy duty drawer slides to the grill to slide out for grease clean out .

    • @TKCL
      @TKCL  2 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      The bottom will be tile for cleanup. I think the grill will be left unmounted to be able to pullout. But the hinges is a interesting idea 🤔🤔🤔

    • @donaldslate4195
      @donaldslate4195 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Grill will be heavy to slide out but the drawer slides mounted to the grill and the 2x4’s. That way you can work, clean around the grease pan. Nice setup. Though I would and more drawers to the right of the grill.

    • @donaldslate4195
      @donaldslate4195 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thinking you could weld a brace / bracket for the grill for the heavy duty drawer slides. Just putting the idea out there.

      I hope the heat doesn’t cause the wood to spontaneously combust under the tile. Blackstones grills can get 700+ degrees and while Ceramic tile will be a heat shield but if it reduces it 300 degrees. It still in range for wood to combust without direct contact with flame.

    • @TKCL
      @TKCL  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@Alphasig336 keep watching, I treat the wood with flame retardant material. Not to mention your talking 1 inch thick of tile and cement board under the blackstone.

    When I went down to El Paso to build the fence for my daughter I bought myself the Kreg Track System for cutting long straight cuts on the three 5 foot by 5 foot gates I built. I actually had to buy an extra set of tracks because they come with 4 feet of track and it wasn't enough length. It was the best money I've ever spent and it even works for plywood.

    I'm not scared to try my problem is im not good with a tape measure and i don't retain information well i have to do it a few times to get it down right but any way your great at it and i really enjoy watching you do it. Great content as all ways.

      Building in even increments really helps that too. Plus the Golden rule of measure twice and cut once helps that too.

    I was thinking that the bottom of the sheeting should have been painted to prevent water from getting into it. I know it's raised off the concrete, but the bottom still can get wet. I thought moisture might make it delaminate. It is looking good! I'm interested in how you are going to vent that blackstone.

    • @TKCL
      @TKCL  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I considered painting the bottom myself. Time will tell, I do already have a solution in mind if I see any issues.

    Andrew, I am impressed again not only by your building skills, but even more by your engineering, planning capacities. We have a saying here "It's better to know how than to have." Add your innate precision to it and you're getting an outdoor bunker😂 - a solid structure which is promising to look great and serve you for a long time! I hope that ugly, nasty weather to the north of you doesn't affect your plans. BTW, no flip flops in the middle of the summer, LOL?

    How are your Vevor accessories holding up? I’m on the fence about ordering from them. There are some very mixed reviews out there so would love your review now that it’s been several months! Awesome outdoor kitchen though!

    • @TKCL
      @TKCL  ปีที่แล้ว

      Absolutely zero issues, nothing to complain about. Other than what was mentioned in the video about a slightly bent door. They've held up extremely well and there's no way I'd spend 2-3 times more for the big name brands. Don't forget if you use my link in the video you can apply my discount code to save even more. I have a new discount code if that one has expired.

    Looking there Andrew, I have a question how is the ac running in the house now that it is hot, is is coming on a lot and is your bill low with all that you did in the house on air tight and spray foam? I am getting ready to start a build and am wanting to see how yours is working, I would welcome any help with how yours is working.

    I don’t believe I saw you talk about that in the video.

    • @TKCL

      I had already had the main propane gas line ran out of the wall of the house by the gas company just for this situation. I do cover my cut off valves and hookups in the next episode I believe.

    good DIY project! I just wonder if you had any experience with mice infestation underneath outdoor kitchen, we would love hear it, outside kitchen is kind of a challenge to prevent wild animals and mice out of the nice kitchen.

    • @TKCL
      @TKCL  ปีที่แล้ว

      None yet, but outdoor spaces like this are subject to visits by rodents. That's why everything in the cabinets are in sealed containers.
