Wow, half of this rambling video dealt with how the spa was acquired and other non-related problems before getting to the temporary fix, and wondering why the word 'temporary' not in the title, would never have viewed the video. As it turns out, this jury-rig of a temp fix is not that good, there's still a leak, and all that water leaking around the fittings at the top will leak down the pipe and inside the spa and if you're lucky not cause rot and mildew over time. Not surprising only 7 subscribers!

I have the same exact issue, except even the threads on the top came off. Do you think I can cement PVC pipe instead ?
