So glad to see how much care and love you give your little Winnie...i lost my sweet Sophie a week ago today .and my heart is broken..she was with me almost 24/7 and she knew she was loved andi love and loved her sooo much...she brougt me such joy and comfort and when she went she took a large piece of my heart with her...i am trying to console myself knowing that she will be waiting for me on the otherside of the Rainbow Bridge and watching these vidos.thank you for sharing.
I am sooo sorry for your loss Joyce. I had a Shih tuz for 15 years. She was blind and couldn't hear anymore. She was my baby. We took her everywhere. I swore I wouldn't get another one, but four years later I got Lucy. She filled the empty hole in my heart. I will always miss my Elizabeth.
Joyce McKennon So very sorry. We lost our Shih Tzu Taffy at age 16 last year and thought we would die of a broken heart. But we are getting a new puppy this weekend and are finally feeling better. Shih Tzu's rule!
just like human hair, you start from the bottom up to loosen as many knots as possible before brushing from the root. starting from the root can bunch up knots and cause the hair to stretch and rip.
I too have a 2 year old shih-stzu and I adore her, she's very well behave as yours. I admire how dedicated you are with her and learned alot of how to detangle her hair especially around the ears.
I love your Winnie, and your love for her is so self evident. You are so blessed to have one another. :) I am enjoying your grooming series a lot. I am about to get my first dog, and even though I have plenty of experience show grooming Persians, just seeing the tender loving care you have for Winnie warms my heart. Wish I could kiss her nose myself, but you'll have to do it for me. :)
I realize this is years later, but I think you are doing well. Keep up the good work. You people who left such negative comments are nuts! Dogs need daily coat brushing and daily teeth brushing especially small dogs. It may look like she's being rough because it's quick, but she's probably not hurting her.
Oh my goodness! You’re such a great mama! Sorry about all the negative feedback! Someone’s always gonna have something nasty to say! Anywayyy. I think you’re doing a great job && this helped me so much!
i am sooooo appreciative of you sharing winnies grooming! my mother went to a nursing facility b/c of major health issues on the promise i would take care of her 1yr,old shih tzu. however i had aminiture collie i had to take care of so i am famliar and quite comfortable w/dog grooming! thank you kindly, she's beautiful. OMG people. she is just brushing her. she is not slinging her around by her hair. as a groomer i have seen so many dogs never brushed by their owners come in pelted and neglected. this girl loves and takes care of her dog. congratulations sweety you are doing a great job. haters gonna hate.
The dog wouldnt express it but shes in pain when your brushing her. Try to be extremly gentel with her especially on the face and head you cant just go fast because it will pull and jerk her head around...
My little Sara is the same she is so well behaved during her grooming it takes a long time to train a shih tzu to lay still for hr grooming time it took me 7 months before she settled down and I just had to preserver till she grew up and in the mean time it was a lot of sweat and frustration but she is so good now. she is 9 yes. old and so sweet. my other shih tzu was always very Co operative right from the beginning.
i am sorry but your comment is so idiotic and I am not saying that to be rude, actually humans are way more sensitive than dogs please do some reasearsh before commenting and sorry about my bad grammar

I understand you care about your dog but is there a way you can brush her fur gently rather than aggressively? And not pull on her face hair while you brush her teeth? It looks like you are playing with a toy dog than a real pain-feeling dog.
+Moxie Caliber I was just thinking the same thing.......awwww it does look like a doll in the sense of how rough and tough to handle. :( My ShihTzu does not require any where near hard brushing or handling, so I wonder why.. But she must be used to it.
I think there's a bit of a feeling that her dog is a toy. I mean, she grew her hair that long and outs bows in. She doesn't seem terribly mean though so in the grander scheme, I think it's ok. I definitely grabbed my shih tzu and had to love him up after feeling so bad for this little guy. :( I'm sure the dog's like, "just let me be!" Such a beautiful Shih Tzu. We have a female Shih Tzu too. They are the best! Thanks for sharing your video of Winnie.
I really enjoy your video! She is beautiful!!!
I don’t agree with others about you hurting her. If that were the case she would not sit or lay so still... she is very well cared for and is evident that she is spoiled and gets plenty of TLC. You are doing a great job!!!! :)
Awwww she is so beautiful and well behaved !
Winnie is such a cutie and so good with your grooming!
Omg what a sweet calm doggie she is precious!
