I like to share some detail because both abby/ellie Seattle Day 2 have some great foreshadowing and parallel (not spoilers) 2:03:16 I like how Abby said “may my death be swift” instead of “your” which is foreshadowing how Nora is going to have a slow and painful death with in few minutes. Also as soon as you turned the generator and power on as Abby you can hear WLF soldiers gunshots and clickers noises where ellie fights them when you play as ellie you can hear WLF soldiers asking about who turned on the generators as soon as Ellie and nora fall into the area infected with spores when you play as ellie Also you can hear abby fighting with the Rat king during that ellie torturing nora scene when you play as ellie it’s just amazing details which shows us how they are almost close to meet each other during Seattle day 2 and went on separate ways Finally from the beginning of Day 2 abby started feeling guilty about what she was done to Joel is wrong and realised after all those years revenge changes nothing in her life except she lost her relationship with Owen and still has haunted dreams of her father every night…that’s why she went on redemption arc by saving those innocent kids yara and lev who saved her life, instead of seeing them as scars… she was full focused on saving yara from dying and finally doing something good to load off her guilt… that’s the reason why she sees her father alive rather than haunted in dreams by finally saving someone who saved her life and something to care about rather than reliving her haunted past and guilt… These characters are so complicated just like real life and naughty dog done a perfect job in humanizing these characters and explaining no one is good nor bad it’s just grey.
02:45:50 this is the point Abby realized that actually helping people and doing good things helped getting past the loss of her father... you see... all the other times you see Abby waking up to a nightmare.. even after killing joel the nightmares continued... and after she helped Lev and Yara it was her first night not having a nightmare and actually dreaming about her dad in a good light... thats when she realized revenge was not the way to go but empathy did.
What an episode indeed! Sorry Jackie, did we forget to tell you they upped the horror level in part 2 by 100%? Oops, that's our bad 😁 The skybridge is where it first clicked for me with Abby. Seeing her vulnerable made me feel more empathy for her. Then I realized how much her dynamic with Lev mirrored Ellie and Joel's from the first game and all of sudden I found myself enjoying spending time with them and getting invested in their journey. I understand why it doesn't work for everyone, but man..for me that shift in my feelings was one of the coolest experiences i've ever had with a game. Oh and just for the record, Lev is actually tied with Jesse for my favorite new characters in part 2

He is part of the reason Ellie and Tommy are alive. Even Mel wanted no loose ends, wanted to kill them. 02:37:49 a lot of people fail to realize that this one is a bit more sentient... tries to hide and different tactics... i believe this is the game telling us that eventually they will become sentient... (slight spoiler of a movie coming ... you where warned... like in the movie i am legend... they started to become sentient at the end.
