Owen is literally the only reason why anyone is alive. None of the WLF fight without reason or defense. They do not hunt. That’s why hunting down Joel was done only in honor of Jerry. Ellie is hunting. She “wasted it”. Abby’s group are all remaining fireflies that Joel didn’t end. Dr. Jerry was her Father and a mentor father figure to all of them. Manny found the body (he’s standing over him), got Owen, and then Abby walked in. Owen and Manny are the only two fighters Joel did not eliminate. The rest are medical staff. Jordan could have simply shot Dina. But he was merely trying to restrain her along with Ellie to find out why they were there. “You shouldn’t have come here” is not a threat. Abby only offed two people so far. Jesse was not a target. Abby doesn’t even know who Ellie is. At all. She thinks Tommy is doing all this. Sorry to say. Ellie and Joel are the villains. Not by choice, but for survival. Owen and Abby are in love. But her obsession took more importance. Mel knew exactly what she was getting into. That’s why she is bitter. But Abby restrained herself up until this point of desperation. Also, if it were up to Mel, everyone would have been eliminated with no “loose ends”. Carry on. And trust the game!
01:42:50 to be fair... by this point the game has shown you that Owen is and has always been in love with Abby... and vice versa... and Mel KNEW this and well she knew what she was getting into... all of them have flaws... thats what makes them real and relatable.. and actually i think Owen is actually the best of all of them... he was the voice of reason... he was not into getting revenge but he did it because he loved abby... he was not into fighting for land.. he was the voice of reason in not killing Ellie and Tommy... Owen just wanted to go to California and be with the fireflies who stood for saving mankind, not for fighting over land and possessions... so... thats my take on owen.. a flawed human being who was trying to just live in a f'up world.
Agree 💯 a dark and twisted story at times but a masterpiece nonetheless. 👍 I can't say Abby is my favorite but along the way, I did grow to like her...
@@KayinAngel abby is not my favourite but her arc is 🔥 as a p1 fan i'll always lean to ellie but agreed a flawed masterpiece regardless to me. but understand why people hate it. Its that complexity that make me wanna watch soo many playthroughs of it.
Owen didn't want to go to Jackson. Even at the start of the game he talked about turning back. He was only there because of his past connections with Abby. He's haunted by what they did, and it affected them more than even Mel, who was fine with the suggestion to kill Ellie and Tommy at the time. I think that put more strain on their already questionable relationship, and when getting home and being unable to cope, he fucked off on his own a lot, up to being unable to kill the Seraphite because he was tired of fighting. Owen is a good guy who just makes bad decisions.
@@Capricornhell Yeah, I feel like Owen was the best of the bunch "if we kill them, we'll be no better than him " was reasonable. Even Mel, being she is a medic, wanted no loose ends. In all honesty, they "probably should have" killed them like Ellie said to Nora, but Owen stood up to the group to stop what he felt was wrong.
Revenge doesn't bring closure, it just makes the people you care about vulnerable. Abbie and Ellie are both learning that lesson the hard way. The cycle of violence continues. I hope you enjoy the rest of Abbys story as I did and think/hope you'll like where it goes. Really enjoyed this episode even with the editing problems. Keep up the good work! can't wait to see more!
Great job on the edit Jackie! And you're definitely not alone in your feelings at this point. Even those of us who love this game felt conflicted when the swap to Abby happened. I remember literally putting my controller down and saying "nah, I don't want to do this." I knew i'd come back to it, but I needed a break to process and accept what the game was asking me to do. Even when I came back it took a while for me to warm up to Abby for pretty much all the reasons you said at the end. It did happen for me eventually though and once it did, honestly, Abby's part of the game ended up being my favorite. But however it shakes out for you, i'm looking forward to seeing it!
It starts, your emotions are your own where it takes u it takes u. whether u end up disliking it, is fine. The fact that u are playing it yourself and not letting people sway your opinion is enough... this game is divisive, and its divisive for this act and what follows...
Playing as Abby & seeing her side of the story really makes you rethink the whole situation Huh Jackie?! I kinda felt sorry her knowing what happened with her Dad!😢
@@LaymanGamin This was my feelings, I understood why, but the torturing was a bit much for me. Ellie is guilty of it too, what she did to Nora, and I hated seeing that part of her. Even our beloved Joel was guilty of torturous mind games to get information. But it's nothing like what Abby did to Joel.
Heh, I don't think you caught the reveal that the dog you played with after picking up Alice is named Bear, which is the name of the dog Ellie likely kills at the hospital on Day 2. Come to think of it, you probably could avoid killing Bear entirely.
I’m not Mexican, but “con picante”, thinking about their fame with spicy food, it has to be something like that. I mean, picante looks like pimienta, which means pepper
Editor Jackie! You did very well with what you had to work with. 👏😃 AND YES, you definitely need an open mind for what's to come.... 1:37:45 😄😆😂🤣💀 The look on your face says it all Jackie! No need for lip reading 😂 1:38:00 I'm dead! ☠️ 1:38:20 hilarious reactions, you're the best! 🤪🤣 And I mean, I know Owen is drunk, but Abby isn't, and what he had just said to her about torturing the people responsible for his family's death... I dunno, just ain't something that would turn me on like that 😬🤢 Ewww! 1:41:15 I understand why Abby did it, it's the HOW that I can't get behind. It was horrible what Joel did to Abby's dad, heck even what he did to Marlene... but he didn't slowly torture them. Joel did a lot of bad things to survive in this apocalyptic world, as does pretty much everyone. I just hate when someone or something causes anyone prolonged suffering. Well, despite the technical difficulties, still a great episode. And you still have a long ways to go haha I think with making 2 hour episodes, you still have at least 3, maybe 4 more to go. Just depends on how much you explore 😜 Seeya in the next one! Peace and Love ✌️😎
Remember what Ellie does to Alice! 😂 gave him a 2 piece wit no biscuit. Sorry had to. And yes trust me we ALL hated when naughty dog made us first play as Abby . It’s like a spit n the face after what they did to Joel. I mean they didn’t have to torture the man smh. N remember only human enemies can see ur flashlight 🔦
@@LaymanGamin Ellie kills Bear too. 🤔 I don't recall, in Jackie's play, hearing the dialog of one of the WLF soldiers saying something about Bear getting shot, but in one of my playthroughs I heard it. And I have to admit, when playing as Abby for the first time, I would get her killed on purpose. Abby is scared of heights so I deliberately made her jump to her death off many high places 😂 But I did grow to like Abby by the end of the game. I always understood the why, but I hated Abby for how she tortured Joel.
As bad as Joel was, he at least was guided by noble intentions, survival for himself, love for his daughter. Not these guys, Ellie included, are drunk on revenge.
Love how the Abby sections force you to get good at melee combat

yeah.. Owen was probably the sanest person in the game. flawed by love... i mean.. who hasnt?
It's with that part I knew without a doubt I liked Owen. Such a tormented character, caughy between his duties and his wishes.

There's no way they'd let a woman that pregnant on the front lines
So much videos I love it
It's chilling how much has Ellie changed. We met Abby during her worst moment, and even then, she only wanted Joel. She didn't want to kill them all.
