I just have the speedrun left to do in order to have all the TR1 achievements and I couldn't do it without your walkthroughs. Still the absolute best when it comes to Tomb Raider!

As I do not care about the achievments (frankly, they're an artificial implementation of "hey, check out what else can be done here" kind of a thing), I strongly prefer to trigger and leave Pierre in the room with the water level switch throughout the whole level. The steps are easy - after picking up the rusty key, I rush in there and jump over the opening in the floor on the left - and after pulling the switch, I roll and just rush in to drop down the same opening (which is now to the right). Pierre VERY RARELY hits me at all during all this (very useful in NG+). Also, he then shows up in neither the room with gorillas, nor in the pool one (with the silver key) - and after completing these, he can be then "dispatched" from a safe distance. All this takes a bit more time and running (actually, swimming) around, but may be worth a try 🙂 A bit of a nitpick - I don't think the reptiles are alligators, but rather crocodiles, due to their green-ish colour and the fact you can see both their upper and lower teeth stick out of their mouth.
Luckily the Nintendo Switch version has zero achievements as far as I know. And yes they are crocodiles I think (the strategy guide I have for this game calls them that).
It's funny how this is a remaster, but honestly, this is exactly how I remember the game looking when I was 8 or 9. In my mind, the graphics were just as good as they are now, even though I know that's not possible. I guess that's the magic of being a kid-our imagination fills in the gaps where the graphics were rough.
Looking forward to TR 4-6 remastered.
