Great video. Did everything the same way and it made the same noises when taken out of service mode, but something seems to be stuck. To me, it feels like it’s the electric parking break. Any ideas? When I try to drive it or reverse it, there’s a lot a resistance and then a jump with force and a light popping noise coming from the rear wheels. I think EPB. My husband thinks it’s the pads.
I'm going to be doing this very soon, and I don't have the computer hook-up. I plan on removing the motor and spinning it in by hand. Can I still compress the piston as you showed? Thanks.
@@sadat67d there should be a couple hex or torque bits holding it onto the caliper if you take those off you can pull off the electric motor and then on the inside there’s another little torx bit and you have to tighten it I believe not 100% which direction but it’s definitely possible to take it off without the scan tool
No need because when doing so, is best to unplug the connector and then inject power at the pins, therefore the power will only affect the caliper motor, not the wiring harness
Is a software named DiagZone. It requires buying software plus a bluetooth donggle. However, many other lower end budget may have this specific function to perform a brake job
The original tools come from Launch x431, however this is a copy version and works well. I bought it from Diagzone.com however the hard part is finding a compatible Bluetooth dongle
@bryan_nfs5593 well I just found out it was not needed. Under the eletric Bull Sh** emergency brake senser there is a gear in the back you turn it clock wise till it stops and the caliper goes right in smoothly. JFYI back to you. Thanks.
If u can’t retract the caliper take the electric Moyer off and there’s a like a star thing on the back u can do it manually loosen it then push the caliper back
@ronaldwilliams4053 yea i found out you can do it manually too like the twist in calipers without the electric e-brake! It's what i ended up doing. Still figuring out some of the new technology, was the first time i couldn't retract it with the scan tool i wanted to make sure i wouldnt damage it by doing that loll. There's always something new to learn!

Yes you can just be very careful. And if youre confident enough, you can also jump power to it with 12v! I think this might be safer

Yes, pull off the electric motor for the e brake from the caliper. Manually move the motor gear back. Then compress the caliper

My scan tool isn't showing EHS/PKB and it's very frustrating, i can't retract the caliper

Get a low end "pro" scan too from Innova that does parking break function. Around $175. The software is $80 per year.
