    I really hope you continue with this series it's fantastic. I saw just before you started this idea you were playing with some JM Rolph pickups, have you still got those to include in a video? The other brand that's there's not that much about on youtube in terms of a comparison is Smittys, some very good guitar players using them and raving about them, but no way of comparing to another set without buying them at the moment

      Thanks man! I don’t have the Rolphs anymore. It was an amazing set! But I just wasn’t using it. There is no video from this series for the rolphs. But there’s plenty of videos in my channel.

      Also, never played Smittys pickups. Interesting to check out.

    Just discovered your channel - amazing playing! Do you have a preference between the Kloppmann Real 62 and the Klein 1962? From the demos I've heard, I'm leaning towards Kloppmann but they're nearly 2x (US $) as much as the Kleins...

    • @argbluesman
      @argbluesman  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Hey man, thank you! I honestly would be absolutely happy with the Kleins. The Klopps are cool but kinda too compressed. At least that’s what I felt. In the end it all depends on the guitar. It’s impossible to know beforehand. But I’m totally a fan of Klein and am cool with those.

    Of all the pickup sets you've tried so far, did any have an overpowering G string because of the staggered poles (assuming your custom shop radius in 9.5")?
    One of the reason I love the Mark Foley's 59 reserve is the balance across the strings, with the G pole being a little lower.
    Great tone and playing on all of them by the way.

    • @argbluesman
      @argbluesman  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks man! I haven’t noticed any overpowering G string really. They are all perfectly balanced.

    imo this one is about the same with klein 62. less high, fatter. not as vintage sounding as the JM Rolph. but still good though..i like this better than his 60 pickups

    I love to hear good Strat players and you are certainly one, but when buying a Strat myself I always want to change something.
    Stacked bridge pickup for more heavy stuff, the middle pickup is useless and with the 2nd switch position it sounds like Mark Knopfler, bending a
    7,25 neck is a drag and so on and so on...
    You may think I've learned through the years...but no. Still want one, a stock one, original setup. The most beautiful guitar ever made and it doesn't fit my needs, it's a shame.
    The ST62 is otherwise perfect sounding pickups, with that rolled off highs. Thanks for the review!

    Hey Frederico, just wanted to ask in your opinion, what is the best/most memorable set of 60s pickups you played?

    • @argbluesman
      @argbluesman  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      There isn’t one honestly. They are all good. The differences are very small. Not as they want us to believe. I like Klein, brandonwound… they are amazing and normally priced.

    hi mate. thos pick ups sounds very interesting in my opinion. they try to replicate vintage pre-cbs in a very good way. can i ask you what are your favourite pick ups you've tried for strat so far in terms of dinamics and response?

    • @argbluesman
      @argbluesman  10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I’ve tried a lot of great ones. JM Rolph, Mark Foley, Klein, Ron Ellis… they are all excellent pickups.

      @@argbluesman First af all thanks for this quick response. i'm considering buying a vintera strat and make some updgrades suche as bridge, pickups, bone 1st fret, and electronics. do you think does it make any sense to put those kloppman on guitar like this?

    • @argbluesman
      @argbluesman  10 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@umbertofurlan501 it’s impossible to know beforehand. There are a lot of things that have to do with the guitar and not with the bridge or electronics. The weight for example. The amount of paint. Which will muffle down the tone of the guitar. If the guitar has a lot of paint it’s like wrapping it with a blanket. Then pickups and other upgrades won’t really make much of a difference. I would start by maybe replacing the pickups if the stock ones don’t convince you. The others things I’m not sure I would change. Unless the stock ones present problems.

      @@argbluesmanyour red strato sounds devine with those pickups. Is it a custom shop or a vintage one? My goal would be to have the closest possible sound to the one you share on video

    • @argbluesman
      @argbluesman  10 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@umbertofurlan501 it’s a custom shop. The weight is good, 3.3kg. The body has thin skin nitro and no undercoat as I understand. And the neck (to me most of the tone comes from the neck) is nice as well.

    Can't decide between these and the Mark Foley 5s4 set. Any recommendations?

    • @argbluesman
      @argbluesman  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Had both. Both are amazing. The kloppmanns are a little fatter, a little higher output. Mark’s set is strictly vintage. Both sound amazing and do what they are supposed to do.

      Awesome thanks for sharing. I'm diggin' the Kloppman's slightly more.
