@Aaron Garcia It's possible to access this fight before fighting Twin Princes. They could have done what they did with Gael's summon for Sister Friede, have the summon there only if you haven't killed Lorian in the main game.

So that makes it even more impressive. He had one shot at beating the demon prince when both were in their prime...And he won.
Dark Souls's fodder bosses are better than most games' final bosses. This is incredible and this guy is essentially just the gatekeeper who determines if you are even worthy to play the DLC you just bought. And apparently this arena is Firelink Shrine from the original game, how crazy is that?!

All (small) curved swords are overpowered R1 spam fests that don't allow people to learn how to actually fight properly in a Souls game. People just R1 spam with them until the boss or enemy is dead.
Lore wise I'd say strongest would be Manus and Gael because the dark soul is ridiculously overpowered and even Gwyn, at the height of his power, feared it. A lore accurate Manus fight would be an impossible smackdown.
I always thought this boss deserved more love. The Demon From Below and Demon In Pain are the last two of thier race. If I remember the lore correctly, demons pass down thier power to each other after they die, and so the survivor is filled with the collective power of the entire demon race, and with an explosion of flame, the Demon Prince, the biggest, baddest demon the world has ever seen, is reborn. Prince Lorian defeated him once, but he didn't destroy him. Now you have to finish it for good.
Faced this beast down with Gael and Lapp summons and 12 estus. First Gael fell, then Lapp, and then my last Estus, until the only thing separating either of us from victory was a quarter bar of health. The music synced with dives and rolls between claw swipes, and I got the last hit in right as he was charging up a massive fireball. Stained with soot and ash, I emerged victorious from probably one of the best boss fight experiences I've had in Dark Souls 3.
I loved how at 3:27 when you HP got so low to the point where one slash would've killed you, you did not panick and kept fighting and dodging until you created an opprotunity to refill
The thing is he had plenty of opportunities to heal like when he staggered the demon in pain (he still would've had enough time to riposte even if he healed) and yet he didn't. To me it seems more like he made a mistake with calculating his time than actually doing well and not panicking
@@phoebedraper170 yes, which is exactly why healing right after reposting is so much better. You don't skip out on a crucial window to attack and you also heal back some of your HP.
I used to think this boss was quite cheap at first due to what I thought was the Dark Souls 2 method of making a "hard" boss i.e. have more than one attacking you at once and through each other, but its actually cleverly designed due to one of them being weaker and slower that they never swarm you at once, Prince fight after that was awesome as well.
As far as gank bosses go, even without the third guy, the first phase of abyss watchers reminds me of what the DS2 Throne Watcher/Defender fight SHOULD have gone. Aka how to properly do Ornstein & Ornstein.
Midir is the hardest fucking boss ive ever fought. I beat the demon prince on my first try. yeah first try. I haven't even got to phase 2 on midir before stopping for the night after like 8 tries. he has SO MUCH HEALTH
I just experienced this fight today and wow I actually had fun with a duo fight? I love that in the first phase both have a passive or dormant-ish state and a very aggresive state which makes the duo fight very fun to strategize on who to prioritize. Definitely a good duo fight unlike Godskin Duo.
I prefer watching players hang on by a thread defeating these bosses it's way more gratifying than watching pros smoothly dodge around them and parry everything. It's like in pvp where everyone goes for meta and it's no fun. This is the content I enjoy most. Well done.
The Demon Prince is what Izalith envisioned while creating the chaos flame, not the parasites of the old chaos, sadly, she would never witness the last glory of the demons, who reached their high only at the very end.
Love this fight. Not only this video's fight, but I find this fight to be very fun. Each time I start a new new game cycle I speedrun the DLCs so I can get to this boss as fast as possible
Godskin duo should've been like this, passive and aggressive stances and CLEAR warnings before attacks going off, and also a room that isn't the size of a school bus.
When Demon in Pain becomes the Prince is the most annoying fight ever,that meteor rain is the most hard to avoid attack,i really like more when Demon from Below becomes the Prince,it's hyper attack can be easily avoided.
The information that the Prince’s attacks depend on which one you tackle first would have been really handy to know beforehand... eh, that’s the beauty of blind playthroughs, I guess.
This boss is really cool, but I'm seriously not a big fan of these bosses that revive with full health on other phases. It feels like it takes forever to get through the first phase. It doesn't help that my damage was halved during the demon prince phase. Goddamn this fight was difficult.
Don't forget Soul of Cinder. They should've made some of these bosses' health bars twice as hard to bring down instead of playing the same trick that started to become not so surprising after a while. It's still all good though.

Nial McMillan-Shapka couldn't agree more while I loved ashes of ariandel this topped it 20 times over Gael and midir are some of the hardest bosses I've ever fought and the demons are I feel the closest reenactment to ornstein and smough we will ever get.

This is dlc has 3 bosses that last for as long as they do yet still remain FUN. This boss, midir and gael are the peak of this series. If only we had another boss that wasn't pvp

ghost fantasy I'd rather fight the nameless king 6 times with half Estus rather than fight these guys. They are a pain. And they aren't even the hardest boss in the dlc
Wasn't too hard after I found out how they fight. Second phase was a chill too. That laserattack gives you so many time to hit him if you stand behind him. Had him around the 10th try, without help
Good thing I killed the demon in pain first so I got the Demon from Below transforming into the Demon prince. This Variant of the fight looks much more difficult

It's one of the hardest skills to learn. Took over 2 games to figure out it's possible to drink and move at the same time.

I found red demon prince to be easier (and way fucking cooler) that supernova while difficult to avoid its not entirely bullshit

Meteor attack is easier to stagger and can be used more for damage opportunity than the laser, but its less consistent than the laser

Black Knight weapons do extra damage to this boss. It took me well over 40 tries, but I beat it with the Black Knight Sword on NG7.
