As a Chinese person, I think buddhism from India has had a profound influence on the Chinese culture for two millenia, the buddhist monk Xuanzang who went to India to learn buddhism in the 7th century is still well known by every single Chinese living today. The buddhism concepts like reincarnation and karma are still very important in the Chinese people's view of the world until this day. I once read a line from a novel by Ken Liu, the character said: " Before the sea, all humans are so powerless, and therefore should be brothers, no matter where they are from." I don't know if god exists, but I think the great sea is this world, all we know for sure that we have is this life, under a force this powerful all humans are powerless and therefore should be brothers instead of enemies. i thank the villagers in India for giving this Chinese man a second chance in life, it must not be easy to treat an enemy that way. But from the birth place of buddhism that was perhaps not all that surprising.

She didn’t have any money but she got a very honest, handsome and hardworking husband. I think they both were very fortunate to have each other. I wish him and his beautiful children the best. And when that Chinese war started, I was a little girl living in Darjeeling in West Bengal. I still remember everything about it. Thank you, for a great story, a story of survival , love. bravery and many other aspects of humanity.
