Topic that finally got into the limelight for the Pan India audience. Much appreciated.
    Thank you Deepanshu.
Their forefathers settled down in the region from the mid 1800 onwards. They are not recent immigrants like our backdoor neighbours. Therefore, questioning them about their allegiance to India is the dumbest thing that can happen, unfortunately they have been victims of the same for decades now.
For people interested to learn further, read the excellent non fiction 'The Deoli walas' or the wonderful fictionalised version set in Makum itself in Tinsukia, 'Makam' in Assamese or its English translation, 'Chinatown days' by Dr. Rita Chaudhary.

There was this building there in makum which was used as a detention centre for Chinese Indians back then. It's mentioned in the book "makam" as shown in the video. This was a horrible period for them & they were put in detention without any reasons. And the worst part is that the Indian government never apologized the Chinese Indian community for this.
Idk if the building is demolished by now or has been renovated because i don't see it anymore even though I used to go to makum frequently for my work. Rumors were there that it was sold to a businessman.
Anyway it's always good to see familiar places in vlogs.

    HI DEEPANSHU
I'm your fan n subscriber since 2017 from the first video in Thailand.
Honestly I stopped watching your videos after the last northeast trip you made.
The real x factor of Deepanshu was missing.
I'm glad to see that old Deepanshu back again.
N I'm sure many will agree with me.
Now again I'm watching your videos regularly.
    You have rediscovered yourself too.
    Thank you so much.
    God bless you 👍🏻👍🏻❤️❤️❤️❤️
