Yeah Barfi is inspired by Charlie Chaplin and some part of Mr. Bean. You might have seen a tribute given to Chaplin in the scene where they unveil a statue in the town. There was a poster of Charlie Chaplin. And I guess Katrina Kaif was first choice for Shruti.
The major scenes of the movie was shooted at (Darjeeling) which is a place close to Assam😊 and Darjeeling is known for it's Hill stations and its famous Darjeeling tea, which is our regular tea here 🥰

Pretty lovely place to live, chill weather and beautiful people.. you should definitely visit sometime, Darjeeling and sikkim one of the most beautiful hills station in Noth -East India.🙃

This movie is shot in west Bengal...west Bengal has the exact same geographical locations as india the Himalayas in the north platue in the sout west sea in the south green plains in the south east...and the director is also a bengali person anurag basu who is extremely influenced by the works of satyajit ray( honorary oscar winner from India). And most of the nobel laureates, most of the writters, actors singers, directors are from Bengal. And indian cinema was primarily established by the help of these bengali directors. And that is why i suggest you to watch some bengali movies especially satyajit rays pather panchali or mordern day chotuskon or 22 shy shrabon

0:14 just FYI, if you are going to watch Sanju, take it with a grain of salt / watch maybe for entertainment wise only. Its not the truth. The movie was actually made to whitewash Sanjay Dutt's (Sanju) image and showed that he is innocent and whatever he did was justified, but in reality a lot of things are hidden and manipulated in the movie because he was jailed for serious offences i.e. national security offences, etc. He was arrested under TADA ( Terrorist and Disruptive Activities) Act and arms act, for possession of illegal weapons related to 1993 Bombay Bombings/ Mumbai serial blasts.
