    You used the wrong transmission fluid. Should have been Mercon-LV (Low Viscosity). I know because I have a 2010 Grand Marquis and that is what the owners manual calls for.

      That is correct. Manual calls for Mercon LV which Ford is pushing onto everything as it's more expensive than Mercon V. There has been no differences between 4R75W transmissions that call for Mercon V vs Mercon LV, it's just a money grab.

      This car does not have a 4R75W transmission, which has a FLAT-BOTTOMED pan.
      Like the other guy said: YOU USED THE WRONG FLUID !!
      Your notion that every change was made to make the vehicle "cheaper" , or that "it's just a money grab" is assinine.

      The guy's 2011 Panther Transmission, according to the Official Maintenace Manual, requires MERCON LV (Low Viscosity) Trans Fluid.
      My Panthers had the 4R75W Trans, and the FOMOCO Maintenance Manual specifies MERCON V.
      My current Panther's 4R75W Tranny has been modified with a B&M Shift Kit, B&M Drain Plug Kit, and Castrol "TransMax" Synthetic MERCON V Trans Fluid.
      Mercon V and Mercon LV fluids are of a DIFFERENT VISCOSITY, and are NOT COMPATABLE and are NOT INTERCHANGEABLE.
      Claiming that the fluids are the same, and claiming FORD is scamming their customers is quite disingenuous on your part.

      NOPE. The WRONG FLUID was installed in the Transmission. FOMOCO specifies MERCON LV -- ONLY !!

    Nice work! OEM is the best! Nice to have a lift too- makes this stuff so much easier. Regarding the rear end fluid change- take the fill plug out first so if for some reason it's stuck or you need extra help, the fluid is still in there and you can still drive it otherwise you're SOL. For the trans pan, consider a new one with a drain plug or get a plug kit and DIY. Makes future drain and fills much easier.

      Thanks! I agree, OEM is the way to go. You are also correct about taking the diff plug first but this is a Florida car and we don't typically have any issues with rust and stuff seizing up. I did have trans pans with drain plugs in my older Panthers but in all honesty it's not that hard to remove the pan on these and I don't mind. Thanks for tuning in!

    My 2011 got horrible mileage when I first got it at 105k. New plugs made a huge improvement. Idk if you already did them or not

      I don't think that plugs would make any difference in mileage unless they are completely fouled. I am not going to mess with them for now because the minute you touch them the coils will go bad.

      @@LimitedEditionMotorcars I"m planning to go with new spark plugs and MSD coils replacement kit straightway,. Yes, touching the plugs can cause extra problems. Nice video. I'll also add a drain plug on the transmission pan.

    nice, when i did my trans service i added a bottle of lucas, just reach 218,000 miles, i don't know if its the original trans or not if it is i'm impressed knowing it was beat to hell for 160,000 miles, it still runs and shift smooth for 218,000 miles

      Thanks! 218K is nothing. If you service the trans regularly (20-25k interval), it will outlast the rest of the car. I had a town car with over 400k on the original trans and was running like new until I sold it and the guy got T-boned a week later.

      Not necessarily, 99% of police departments service their cars regularly. Just keep doing the service and you will be good to go. Even if it goes, you can get a used one from JY for under 500 bucks. Parts are dime a dozen for these cars.

    I have crown vict 2012 i change the rear deferential in 2017 and i change bearing after 270000km now my car 370000km i can change the oil or now i hearing that american dont change the deferential oil untial it die and until now in saudi arabia the tell that old american comes there they tell them that and untial now they following this procedure

      Thank you sir! Yes, I flushed the coolant yesterday actually and I taped the process which will be shown in the upcoming video. It's hard to put everything into one video because it will be an hour long.

    Great work things done rite all OEM parts and fluid only down side is idiot driver's on the road. I had 2003 did everything rite put about $7000 into the car some idiot pulls out in front of on coming traffic moderate damage to the crown Victoria the insurance company totalled the the car and offers $1800 for a car in excellent condition.

    Can I drain the transmission fluid once from the front hoses and then remove the pan? I"ll add drain bolt to it, so after installing the filter I'll flush trough this bolt once or twice till it gets all new.

      You won't flush anything through the pan, you need the flush through the line so that the fluid is pushed through the torque converter.

      SKIP the "flush" -- Drop the pan, clean the magnet, and replace the transmission filter with OEM Motorcraft. Do it RIGHT !!

      FOMOCO specifies MERCON LV for the 2010 Panther transmissions -- with NO ADDITIVES !!
      The earlier 4R70W transmission flluid specs are for MERCON V -- with NO ADDITIVES
      Royal Purple 75-W90 Synthetic Gear Oil has the Friction Modifiers "built in". Saves money.
      Beware of U-Tubers that claim they know more than the FOMOCO engineers -- they don't.

      Yeah there are a few fluids to flush but it's pretty easy and you can do it once every 1.5 to 2 years.

    After you flushed the converter twice and changed the trans filter...how many total quarts of transmission fluid did you add the final time?

      About 4 to 4.5. There is no exact measurement here. Add 4 first then drive the car and check.

      Okay...I see. Maybe you meant it took a total of about 14 quarts to do the flush and refill. That makes sense.

      @@RCAquadruplex Yes, total capacity is about 13.8 quarts. The pan by itself holds about 4-5. So the last fill should be 4 first then check the level. Always easier to add than drain.

      You don't need to replace them. They last for the life of the car.

    I was watching WJ Handy Dad's channel on transmission service and he mentions specifically that Crown Vics from 1989-2008 uses Mercon V and 2009-2011 uses Mercon LV. and they are not interchangeable. th-cam.com/video/tV3fAs8dIQE/w-d-xo.html
    However in this video you showed a case of Mercon V transmission fluid in your trunk at time stamp 1:05 which is the wrong fluid for your car. Time stamp 00:56

      Yes, the "correct" fluid for 08 and up is Mercon LV. However, every time Ford phases out a fluid, they say it's not compatible with the new fluid because they want to sell you the more expensive stuff.
      I had Mercon V in my 2011 for 2 years with no issues; they haven't changed anything in the transmissions to work exclusively on Mercon LV.

    This is sad. Everything is wrong with this video. You drain the differential oil, but you never check the axle bearing end play or the pinion shaft play at all. The way that transmission oil was changed will damage them. Wasting 10 quarts of transmission oil which is total waste, when you drop the pan first and simply stop there. Wasting over 600 dollars on all this junk and nothing accomplished
