My 75 inch U8k came in Saturday. We watched the Cowboys vs Eagles last night and it did GREAT! You do get a flicker when the football is thrown really fast like the Rtings review stated. I had to play around with the settings. I still get some blue lips on faces with lighter skin so I will mess with that some more tonight. Sound is pretty darn good. For a not so big room, I believe you don't need a sound bar. Of course, if you want higher quality sound, you would get a soundbar, but it gets plenty loud. Brightness is bright! I had to turn it down. Watched John Wick 4 at night, and I was highly impressed. In my opinion, it's a great TV at 1299. If it gives me 5 great years, I will be happy. I truly believe the days of 10 year TV's are done. My 2018 Sony started a line that goes up and down but not easily seen but in certain times so not even they are immune from issues.

Hey I wanna ask u question about the football. Some ppl say that they can’t stand watching sports thru the TV app. Apparently the Sports look better coming Directly form Cable TV than coming from news Chanle App. Can u check it out?? Seem the apps mess things up. I am returning the Apple TV 4K
I bought Appple TV 4K last week. It was Horandous it made d sound sounded so bad n someone online is saying it’s making the image more glitchy. I wonder if it’s just an app thing or just fluke.

QUESTION: I bought the U8K 75" TV. My Comcast Xfinity X1 initially worked fine. But, whenever I press the "Xfinity" button, I receive a message that says, "Weak or no signal. Check your input connection and make sure your device is on." What is even worse is pushing "Exit" does not allow this message on the screen to disappear. This message is permanently on the screen until I do one of two things. The first is disconnect the HDMI cables from either the TV or the A/V Receiver. The second is switching to a different HDMI Input, and then switching back to the HDMI input where Comcast is on. After that, I can see Cable TV again - UNTIL I eventually press the "Xfinity" button. At that point, the Xfinity button forces the Hisense TV to get that message of "Weak or no signal. Check your input connection and make sure your device is on."
I have checked all four HDMI inputs on the TV. I have also checked multiple sets of HDMI cables. I hear the audio, which confirms the audio has reached the A/V Receiver. But I no longer see the video - which confirms the TV is not getting the HDMI signal for some reason. I have another TV set that is a 15-year-old Sylvannia LCD TV and it works 100% fine with that "Xfinity" button from Comcast. Does anyone know why the "Xfinity" button does not work with this Hisense TV and causes this message to appear on the screen?

    • @KevinPipher1
      @KevinPipher1 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

@@Andru_B I bought the 75, and have zero regrets. The viewing angle is insane on it. Nearly no difference in picture even at extreme/unreasonable angles (ie. it will literally never be a problem). Only downside to the 75 I've noticed is there is less anti-reflective coating on it compared to what you see in the 65" reviews. Only time it's a problem is very dark scenes, with a bright light behind the TV (large window, etc.). Daytime sports etc. are totally fine. Picture quality is incredible especially on 4K/HDR content. Some minor motion annoyances (puck/ball ghosting) in streamed/live sports sometimes but generally it's because the sports streaming services I use are stuck in the dark ages with 720p content. Higher quality feeds have far less issue and I assume it'll eventually be moot once these broadcasters catch up to post-2010 tech. Only a minor gripe. It's a fantastic TV for the price.
If it comes down to merely size, go bigger. I read that somewhere before I bought and am so glad I did. TV looked massive when I put it up, but now I'm glad it's that big and I would be disappointed with smaller. Kind of wish I went for the 85".

QUESTION: Another video online does a "Comparison" of the "Processing" between the Hisense U8K, TCL QM8, and LG G3 TV. The comparison showed the QM8 had the worst "Posterization" problems from "Low Bitrate" videos and Standard-Definition videos. In comparison, the U8K had the best "Processing." You say the Sony was better; but in that other video there were very specific settings that needed to be used in order to make the U8K take advantage of that "Processing." Did you use those specific settings with "Smoothness" and other settings in order to make the Standard-Definition and Low Bitrate signals look better in the U8?

QUESTION: Why does the feature called "HDMI Dynamic Range" sometimes allow me to manually select "Auto" or "Limited" or "Full" for HDMI Input 3 eARC/ARC, but other times I cannot select "HDMI Dynamic Range" at all. Instead, "HDMI Dynamic Range" will be in grey text and I will only see "Auto" There will be a message that says "Adjust the HDMI input signal dynamic range." There is nothing that has changed - to my knowledge. I did not press any buttons. Also, what is truly weird is that if I switch from HDMI Input 3 for eARC/ARC, which Comcast cable is on via TV/SAT with the A/V Receiver, and then switch to a different Hisense Input such as "Home," and then switch back to HDMI Input 3, I will then be able to manually select "Auto" or "Limited" or "Full" for HDMI Input 3 eARC/ARC. There is clearly some form of SEVERE technical glitch with the U8K from Hisense.
The TV is so unfriendly and filled with technical problems that I tried to get Best Buy to exchange it for a different model of TV, but Best Buy was NOT willing to do so. I will never buy another product from Best Buy or Hisense again.

YES I did a LOT of research, SHOCKED to FIND OUT--that U CAN NOT , u SHOULD NOT ship tv when TV lay FLAT, those 65” 75” so LARGE n heavy!! My 65” 75lb!!! Those continuous bumps on the road/highway. Tv pop up n fall on screen can damange it. Even with box. It needs to sit up right not lay flat.
I freaked out so much. Bought so many cheap yoga mats, anti fatigues baby play mats cusion. Tape padding tv trims etc. n ship tv at might drove snail speed.
A LOT of ppl just get excited go to Bestbuy Costco. They dont want to pay , or wait for Shipping. They jst drive to store pull it back of their truck n carry home. Since the tv is NOT over $$$$$ there is higher buying rate, of course higher damange.
Also a lot of ppl will find UPDATEs on line. N use USB Plug upload updates. Turn out those updates are for Diff batch of SAme model. So if its firmware update, it CAN --Brick your TV.
Like 2010 those Apple Ipads Screens partially made by SHARP, partially made by samsung. Same with ANY TV/ headphones, anything. It can have parts from diff supplier. If randomly search or find links for update, n update the tv with USB drive. It can BRICK tv because it alter the Commend of remote to the TV hardward if that command does NOT match the mini part of something it can just NOT communicate. Its like TV have a stroke. Luckily my dude works in IT explains to me.
Also for ppl. Have hard time connect TV to wifi/sound bar. Its NOT tv issue. Its compatibility issue. Like most of time it will work. Once a while the Modem or sound bar has hardward incompatible with the TV. Like how Mother board incompatible with the graphic card. Its all random . Has nothing to do with the quality, just fluke. Prob 1 in 500-1 in 1000 in PC (it wont connect to the modem). But tv prob more frequent if happend to be THAT tv with THAT parts with a specific provider with that batch of modem/ or sound bar with certain parts . My SONOS can NOT connect to 1 Modem at my other place. Its comical. N my other place has Newer Modem.
Its just a lot of bad luck lots of fluke. I knew nothing about it. I would freak out too. My dude explained to me , but still strange. I am so used to “plug in n play”.

I just bought the Hisense 75" U8K to replace my trusty 13 year old Samsung Plasma. I never had a problem with my Plasma but since it is not a Smart TV, I was waiting to buy a new screen and was really sold on OLED, but with various reviews and obviously the price point, I was very ambivalent about getting one. Further research steered me to the TCL QM8, but the only problem is availability. No stores in Canada are carrying it at the moment and if I have to wait for buy it, I will have 2 of my birthdays done and over with. I discovered the Hisense U8K (which caught my eye). With Mini LEDs seriously competing with the OLEDs, I had it demonstrated (understanding that the video playing was pure 4K) and to my surprise really really liked it. Fantastic picture and Google Assistant ready, there was nothing wrong that I could see with it. Further research into this TV (including your review), sold me on it and the price point was well within my price range. If I could afford a $5000 (LG, Samsung, Sony). TV, I would, but I want a bang for my buck and this TV really did it for me. We will see if it lasts 13 years (I am keeping my 65" Plasma just in case, you never know). But for now, I am looking forward to setting it up, enjoying it. Why pay more??? Hisense and TCL with very good reviews will replace Samsung and LG in the next few years as the highest selling TVs companies.

@@petedetraglia4776 What are your thoughts about the review from FOMO online that says Hisense didn't listen to him this year, which means "The U8K cannot handle Dolby Vision at all" while the QM8 from TCL can due to the fact that the QM8 has a 10-BIt control panel that allows actual 10-Bit HDR to occur, and the "Simulation" of 12-Bit Dolby Vision, while the 8-Bit panel of the U8K only allows the "Simulation" of HDR, but definitely not any form of "Dolby Vision" from the "8-BIt plus FRC" technology used by the U8K?

    • @michaelzoran

@@petedetraglia4776, I bought the U8K and I have to say I am VERY DISAPPOINTED. The U8K has so many technical glitches and defects, I couldn't post them online because the comment is over 10,000 characters long. Here is a quick version of some things you might want to help me with - because you spoke of a recent "Firmware Update." The problems I'm experiencing with USB movies being played are TERRIBLE. I will explain.
On another website, many people talked about movies had a natural "Resolution" of 1920x1080p and an "Aspect Ratio" of 2:35:1 with black bars at the top and bottom. The people talked about how they used Handbrake to compress the movies so the Resolution was changed to 1920x800p. The laptops they had displayed these movies with black bars and the top and bottom without any problems. But, the Hisense U8K USB had problems where the the Resolution of 1920x800p with an Aspect Ratio of 2:35:1 always had problems, because the "Black Bars" at the top and bottom of the movie were no longer visible on the Hisense U8K. Instead, the HisenseU8K had incorrectly done a form of "Vertically Stretching" of the black bars on these movies - regardless of if you selected "Full" or "Stretched."
This other sort of online forum talked about how people were told about a "Firmware Update" from Hisense that solved this problem. The resolution of 1920x800p was now visible in a way that allowed the black bars to exist appropriately with the Resolution of 1920x800p. This is the way my U8K TV is. Unfortunately, there are MANY other problems.
For example, many of my movies are in the resolution of 1280x720p with an Aspect Ratio of 2.35:1, which causes black bars at the top and bottom. When watching movies at this resolution of 1280x720p, the movie is ALWAY "Stretched" vertically - regardless of whether you select "Full" or "Fit." This causes "Circles" to look like inappropriate "Ellipticals." Hisense needs to fix this.
Another problem is that ANY time I watch ANY movie - regardless of resolution - the Hisense U8K allows me to watch the movie ONE time, and ONLY ONE time. If I watch the first 30 minutes of a movie, but then decide to watch the News or turn the TV Off in order to go to sleep, there will be HUGE problems the next time I tried to watch the USB card.
For example, if I try to watch a movie, but then the News comes on, and I decide an hour later I want to watch the movie again on the USB, the U8K TV will NOT let me! Instead, when I press either "OK" or "Play" to select the movie on the USB card, the movie will start to play, but will only be visible for about one-tenth of a second. After that, the movie stops playing all by itself. It is like this for ANY movie of ANY resolution and ANY aspect ratio.
It actually gets worse. When you leave the USB card connected to your U8K TV when you have the intent to watch movies on it in the future, when you press "Power" to turn the U8K "On," you will get a message saying, "Ejecting USB." But, the USB card actually remains visible in the list of "Inputs" wen you press "Menu." The USB is no longer listed by name as one of the selections when you press "Settings." You can still select everything on the USB card. Sadly, if you have watched anything on it in the past, it will NOT work - because everything simply stops automatically the moment you press "Play" or "OK" in order to try to watch it.
Even if you manually "Eject" the USB card or do a "Reset" of the TV, nothing works. You can unplug the USB card, and then plug it back in. But NOTHING allows you to see those movies again.
It gets even worse! Try watching a movie and you will initially see the movie looks great in either 720p or 1080p resolution. But, after several minutes, the USB card movie will suddenly say "Chapter 5" on the bottom of the screen. Then, after several minutes it will say "Chapter 6." Then it will say "Chapter 7." These messages of "Chapter" will always be visible until the next chapter. When there is a new "Chapter," you simply see the number of the "Chapter" change. Seeing "Chapter" the entire time is ANNOYING - especially because the movie doesn't even start off "saying" the word "Chapter" like that. I have NO IDEA what causes this random glitch. It will start saying "Chapter 4" or "Chapter 6" at a random point in time.
I eventually learned if you press "Menu," and then turn "Off" the "Subtitles," you do not see these "Chapter" messages at the bottom of the movie. The problem with this is those movies didn't even have "Subtitles" in the first place. And what is worse is mkv movies actually do sometimes have a need for "Subtitles." When that occurs, the USB card of the terrible U8K make it so these "Chapter" messages create a problem with the "Subtitles" messages.
Simply put, the Hisense U8K is JUNK for watching USB movies. It is NOT like that when watching USB movies from other manufacturers.
I will keep the topic focused on USB disappointment for now. I won't mention how disappointed I am watching Christmas Vacation on TNT right now on Comcast and seeing the SEVERE problems with "Stuttering" and "Juddering" that the U8H model from 2022 is known for. This is the 2023 U8K model, but the problem is clearly not solved with "Juddering" and "Stuttering." I know the U8K is the problem and not Comcast, because when I rewind the DVR the "Stuttering" and "Juddering" will not be there, and will occur in different places.

Im not totally Familiar with the Hisense OS, but owning a Sony X950G for 5 years I am very familiar with Android/Google TV. On the Gaming portion where you indicated it was Dim... There might be a setting under Color.. that will boost the Brightness tremendously in HDR "Game Mode" I know what youre thinking why would a Color adjustment affect Brightness but it Does.. On the Sony its called "Live Color" this setting switching from Med to High in Game mode is like.. Dull, Dim lifeless picture to Gloriously Bright and Vibrant...
Maybe the U8K has a similar Feature/Function under its Picture Settings.. Like anything you have to play around and tweak it to bring out the Best. Im considering the U8K and the QN90B for my next Display personally

HEY. I have seen QN90B. 2X in Bestbuy. Cuz I Ordered Hisense U8H 75”(canceled it tho cuz i ran out of space n moving). Last year Hisense U8H looked BETTER than Samsung QN90B absolutely. I have seen em in person. Also my husband. N I was specifically taking close look at Samsung QD-OLED S95B and QN90B. Hisense U8H look 96-98% Identical to S95B. QN90B looked about 92-94% identical to S95B. S95B looked BETTER than all the TVs including Sony X95K n everything. S95B was Glorious. But also top price.
I dont play video games. Gammers have diff setting etc. i do lot streaming . So whatever ppl “complaint about Jutter/red ghosting etc….” I do NOT see it. I JUST do NOT . I have been looking for em. (I have 2021 Flagship U8G 65”).
Yeah just trying to GET UR money worth. QN90B is super good. It has Minor NOTICABLE Blooming. I pick it up right way because I have Hisense Flagship panels at home that I am used to NOT see blooming, so the QN90B blooming is Minor. But LOOK Up Hisense H9G -2020 Flagship panels the do NOT even have that QN90B blooming. Since QN90B is still $$$ n u can get a NO Blooming TV as Snappy. Just sharing my visuals in Bestbuy. If u use Sony X950G for 5 yrs used to not hv ANY blooming. U prob will be bothered by d tinny 4% blooming for QN90B. If other ppl who had lower end TV they mostly wont care. U will pick it up. U better off Getting U8K, U8H, TCL QM8( MUCH WORSE Sound). Or snatch a S95B if they have clearance last min sale. They only go up to like 65” tho.

Don't get me wrong, it's the best ips I've experienced to date and it may just be an association thing but every previous ips panel I owned were always to dark to me. @birdtj82 OK honestly I will have to eat crow and retract a bit of my previous comment after two full weeks of ownership. While my experiences with ips panels in the past have been mostly negative this one is not the case and is referred to as a IPS-ADS panel and whatever the difference is in the technology the picture is without prejudice, outstanding. I actually traded my 2020 H9G 65" under Best Buy warranty for this one because the technician couldn't resolve the Bluetooth issue so they gave me a $900 + tax credit to buy what I wanted so as soon as this 75" U8K went on sale for $1599 I chose it. My honest assessment after two full weeks is the 75" with the IPS-ADS panel rocks but as soon as I found out it didn't have a VA panel I placed it under maximum scrutiny and so far it's won me over and that's coming from someone who had the already iconic H9G the began putting Hisense on the map as a serious player to Samsung.

Panel type doesn't play any role when it comes to DSE amount. It all depends on an assembly process and quality control. Smaller size actually tends to have less of it, obviously, because there is less surface area and it is easier to disperse light more evenly.

Prob fast driving over bumps as usual, stop n go etc. n I doubt anyone can FIT 77” tv STRAIGHT UP like they do in thoes MOVING Delivery 🚚 truck things. Do u know how annoying to return/exchange that huge tv if take home n its like something small but annoyingly wrong . Need to swab. Lol. 😂 n u have to find a person to help n find a vehicle that can hold it.

Hello great review. I have a ?. I am going to buy a u8k this week. My couch is between 9'-10' from where the tv will be mounted. This tv gets very bright. I cant decide if I should buy the 65" or 75". I Have seen both in-store and stood from the distance I told you. Do you think the 75" would be to big and I shoud go with the 65" . If I buy the 65" I will have $500.00 for a sound bar. Thank you for your help.

Great review! So close to pulling the trigger in this one. Just so you guys know there is an 85" version. Maybe they added it after you did this review. Would love to see you guys review it if possible.

I like watching your videos and seeing the latest tech, but as an international viewer it would be nice if you could get the manufacturers to give you some info on the variations in spec for those of us not in the US. For example, this TV in the UK doesn't run Google TV, it runs a software called VIDAA

They do now! Hard to justify paying 2k and the 75 inch is 1300, for me anyway.

Is it possible that the low res content that didn’t upscale well is because of that streaming service COZI TV? I had never heard of it until now.
