I have this exact same monitor for the last couple of months and I agree with this assessment. It’s not a perfect monitor but for a bright room it’s great and comes dam close to oled. There really isn’t a good reason to spend more for a comparable monitor which would end up costing more.
The Brightening of the Bravia 9 you mentioned when accessing menus etc., is purposeful. My Sony rep explained it to me as the best way to control blooming and halo. When pulling up menus or when credits roll against a dark background you will see the overall image increase in brightness. This prevents the appearance of blooming. Given the Bravia 9 virtually eliminates blooming and halo during 99% of viewing, in my mind it’s an equitable tradeoff. Fun review, thank you 🙏
I understand that. But it annoys me pretty badly, especially on black to white commerical changes or youtube backgrounds, it likes a cheap TV for a second here and there. But most tv owners aren't critiquing so much so the quality of the tv overall is fantastic.

I bought the 55u8n and returned it for this tv because my kids wanted bigger. The black level on the 55 was hands down better and the black bars on this tv was terrible with light bleed, the 55 was excellent so I returned this tv for lg b4 77 oled and couldn't be happier!

I'd like to see a comparison between the Hisense 100" U88N and the TCL 98" you tested a short while ago. Where I live there's a 1/3 price differential between them in favour of the Hisense. Any chance you can test the big Hisense and compare it to the TCL (by memory)?
Merci à vous. je regardé votre vidéo de la France. Je cherché des informations sur le marché et je tombais sur votre vidéo. Grace à votre vidéo j'ai décidé de acheter une 75u8n merci to both of you
Thank you so much for this review. Everyone always reviews the 65-inch you are the only one reviewing the 75-inch. Quick question, I'm considering buying the 77-inch G4, how does the U8N 75-inch compare to the G4?
@@PrudenceCSmart Sure you can. I just recently went from an LG 77" OLED flagship as you described to a Hisense 100" u8k which is Mini-LED and the picture quality is far better on the 100u8k. I didn't expect that. As an added bonus, the off-axis viewing is just fine as well. This was also unexpected based on all of the horror stories you read from people online who have never even seen any of these TVs in person. Based on the endless OLED fanboi comments like this one that make it seem like OLED is untouchable I thought I'd take a step back in PQ & off-axis viewing for a larger image, which was the goal. In the end, it was not only a massive step forward in PQ & off-axis viewing (a welcomed surprise) but the user experience is far better on the Android OS than LG's crappy WebOS. You lead your post off with an "lol" and now all I can do is "lol" at people who parrot all of the BS about OLED being some sort of superior screen technology even though it's outdated, susceptible to burn-in and more expensive. No thanks. Hisense and TCL has put Sony, LG and the other "flagship" brands on notice with these latest offerings at a much lower price tag. Reminds me of Hyundai and Kia of decades past. The Buick & Chrysler owners laughed at them at the time too. Now who's laughing?
Any recommendations on picture settings? Have the 75 U8N and keep playing with the settings trying to get the picture right. Any help would be appreciated, thanks.
Thank you for this review. Quick question for you. I went with the U8N last week. It looks great most of the time but I'm noticing a lot of noise/pixelating in some videos in TH-cam (e.g., around a mountain bike while riding across leaves and rocks). I thought maybe it was the quality of the video, but I don't see this on my older C1. Would this be due to the TV's processing power? I assume I would probably eliminate this with an OLED such as the LG C4 or Samsung S90D?
@ it’s a bit brighter and the colors seem to pop just as much. It also does a great job of local dimming so it also gets just about as dark / contrasting. Other than the issue that I mentioned above (which is rare), it’s a great looking TV. I just watch a lot of TH-cam so seeing the weird noise around moving images (even if infrequently) will annoy me.
The ADS pro panel can’t have the same contrast as a VA panel. The main advantage of this panel is a wider viewing angle but you can’t have best of both worlds; the contrast ratio of a VA panel and wide view angle of IPS panel, something has to give in and that’s something is the lower contrast ratio than a VA panel.
The comparisons from Rtings showed a noticeable decrease in contrast and brightness from all other u8n that are not the ADS screens. I'm kind of put off the 75 inch for that reason.
Between this and the LG qned 85 mini led which one would you choose? I know the lg is a couple years old. Unless there’s another budget friendly tv you’d recommend for gaming? Would also like to suggest an unboxing for the Roku pro series tv! :)
I know this was a few months ago but things don't add up and I don't know why. Some do say ADS pro is great but many say contrast is very visibly inferior on the 75U8N. Rtings has thoroughly tested one and not only is contrast ratio half of the 65 inch VA panel, it is also MUCH less bright in all instances. I REALLY wanted a 75 but many who tried one out had issues
In the market for a 75” (2020 tcl 65” 635 panel having issues 🙄)… I was set on the 75u7n… until I learned it’s an ads panel… rings trashed this 75” u8n ads panel… so I’m stuck, do I need to spend the extra on the u8 since the ads panel loses a ton of contrast?
Even though this video is a couple months old I hope you guys can see my question. I am looking to buy this TV for my music/gaming room and replace my U8 from last year. In all the reviews people are saying that the 4k120 HDMI ports are separate from the EARC but in all the pictures of the HDMI ports (Including on the Hisense website) show that one of the 120 ports is also an EARC port. I want to clarify it before I buy it. I have both an Xbox and a PS5. So, are the pictures wrong? Will be able to connect both my consoles and use the EARC port? Thanks.
Its confirmed . Already out. The last year 2023 Hisense U8K U7K--both 75” are ADS-PRO. This year they are continuing it the 75” U8N U7N -ADS PRO screen. I ONLY want ADS-Pro Screen now, once u see it u can not go back to VA lol.😂
Guys great video. I will look at this TV. I do hope you get your hands on more 85" TV's too👍😎👏👏 Caesar was so funny and smart. 😊🥰 I loved 🥰 the cute playing between you guys. 🥰👍👍
Always happy to give a thumb up to your videos, really good and thorough unboxing, as usual. I do have a question, and maybe I'm not the only one - I'm a "cord cutter" in Canada - TH-cam TV isn't a choice here for us. I'm in a big city, and very close to US border, so I get about 50+ HD channels over the air (OTA) - I'm always interested in the quality of the TV tuner and the integration with the OS. - is there any chance for the future videos to integrate something about that?
Hey B.🖐🏾What are all of the setting's features on the Hisense 65" U8N!!??🙄🤔 I can't find the "User's Manual" online!! There are certain features I've heard about, that I can't access, because I don't have the instructions!!🙄🤔🤨.............In future videos, would you please address this concern!!??🤔
Did you find the manual? If not, do a search for Hisense U8N useres manual.you’ll see a link to the manual on the US Hisense site. There's also an embedded e-manual you can get from the settings on your set, but I think the pdf is more detailed.
Great video I'm just really curious in terms of image refinement and picture quality specular highlight detail and how HDR works and how it's implemented in terms of putting you know the specular highlights where it really needs it even though I know this TV is really bright which one does it better with HDR and having a better all image quality would you say this one or I should go and get a Samsung q8 85d which I currently have but I still have time to return it and it looks pretty damn good and it's a more reputable company so maybe less likely it will break down over Hisense. Does Samsung have is a 65 inch I'm looking at a 75 hisense has the Samsung is on sale I got it for a really good price.. but I still don't know which one to get your feedback would be very appreciated if you could thanks so much. Unless you haven't really seen the 85d and really compare them side-by-side I don't really know it's hard to find a video of people doing that. 😎
Can this TV play audio through the speaker and Bluetooth at the same time? I have someone in my house who is hard of hearing and needs audio through a hearing aid. Best Buy CS says "yes". Hisense CS days "no".
Please I need help. Which 77 inch should I get for to put in living room for tv shows and moviea, and (some gaming) LG C4, Samsung S90D, or Sony brava 8
If I’m not playing videos games and watching mostly movies, tv, and streaming off and Apple TV 4K off this or TCL. Does having 60hz, 120hz, or 144hz matter?
I really like that you all go through unboxing and setup. :) great job!

Thank you! I have a 77c1 and I’m looking to go to a 85 inch. The 83 inch c4 is just too expensive l.
U8N is one of the highest rated LED tvs ever besides the Bravia 9. It's quite good.
Need 85 inch for football season give me recommendation. TCL or Hisense is fine
Between this and the LG qned 85 mini led which one would you choose? I know the lg is a couple years old. Unless there’s another budget friendly tv you’d recommend for gaming? Would also like to suggest an unboxing for the Roku pro series tv! :)
how far from your sofa? thanks!
Great Review!!! Thank u
I’m In this boat…. Things said the 75” basically stinks
How much different is this to the u7n?
My doubt.
This tv or the QM851G post calibration?
Even though this video is a couple months old I hope you guys can see my question. I am looking to buy this TV for my music/gaming room and replace my U8 from last year. In all the reviews people are saying that the 4k120 HDMI ports are separate from the EARC but in all the pictures of the HDMI ports (Including on the Hisense website) show that one of the 120 ports is also an EARC port. I want to clarify it before I buy it. I have both an Xbox and a PS5. So, are the pictures wrong? Will be able to connect both my consoles and use the EARC port? Thanks.
Hey b installer how would you compare this hisense u8n to a lg oled c2 within the same size thanks
Quando è bellaaaaaa 👍👍👍
How can you know what panel a TV has? I have checked the websites for different manufacturers and do not see it listed.
You 2 Crazy Kids ❤️you Content. 👍👍👍👍👍
Guys great video. I will look at this TV. I do hope you get your hands on more 85" TV's too👍😎👏👏 Caesar was so funny and smart. 😊🥰 I loved 🥰 the cute playing between you guys. 🥰👍👍
Is that a 98"-inch in the back? It makes the 75"-inch look tiny.
If they're talking about the side pieces, I think they mean, leave it on the TV and lay the TV down flat with it, attach.
Can you do a comparison with the Qm8
Hey B.🖐🏾What are all of the setting's features on the Hisense 65" U8N!!??🙄🤔 I can't find the "User's Manual" online!! There are certain features I've heard about, that I can't access, because I don't have the instructions!!🙄🤔🤨.............In future videos, would you please address this concern!!??🤔
Did you find the manual? If not, do a search for Hisense U8N useres manual.you’ll see a link to the manual on the US Hisense site. There's also an embedded e-manual you can get from the settings on your set, but I think the pdf is more detailed.
Wish I could’ve seen Jen standing in the yellow athletic pants. Those look good 😎
That's enough internet for you today.
@@modernwize hahahahah
@@modernwize You know you want to see, too 😉
Great video I'm just really curious in terms of image refinement and picture quality specular highlight detail and how HDR works and how it's implemented in terms of putting you know the specular highlights where it really needs it even though I know this TV is really bright which one does it better with HDR and having a better all image quality would you say this one or I should go and get a Samsung q8 85d which I currently have but I still have time to return it and it looks pretty damn good and it's a more reputable company so maybe less likely it will break down over Hisense. 😎
Do you turn off the Eco settings?
Can this TV play audio through the speaker and Bluetooth at the same time? I have someone in my house who is hard of hearing and needs audio through a hearing aid.
Best Buy CS says "yes".
Hisense CS days "no".
Please I need help. Which 77 inch should I get for to put in living room for tv shows and moviea, and (some gaming) LG C4, Samsung S90D, or Sony brava 8
Is tcl and Hisense still using a 60hz 8bit panel on there qm8 and u8n hence reason why they keep there asking price significantly low
Next Panasonic tv unboxing 😍😍
I wonder why the 85 inch dont have ads pro panel instead of VA panel im looking into replacing my s95b oled for this, wonder if its a good choice
Why you replacing your oled with mini led?
@ because i want bigger tv and 85 inch oled is very expansive
I just did the same video but on the 65" with the VA panel, such a great tv.
U8N vs S90D is now my mindset.
is the 100" same quality? is that one called u8 only or u8n?
i’ve installed a 100inch U8 recently and i’ll be honest, it didn’t look good at all.
When's the quads video dropping? Thanks.
Great vids Been looking to buy a TV for room with a lot Natural light Currently have a lot of glare. Any guidance ? Budget is like 1500
How much better is it to the u8k
Hisense restores my faith. We hope to see active matrix technology showcased at tech shows in 2025. Thank you.
Salve vorrei un consiglio su quale tv scegliere tra Hisense 55u79nq vs TCL 55qm8b Grazie e complimenti 😁
If I’m not playing videos games and watching mostly movies, tv, and streaming off and Apple TV 4K off this or TCL. Does having 60hz, 120hz, or 144hz matter?
For motion smoothening, yes. Although, unless you PC game, 144 hz does not matter
@@klaymatic3751 thank you!🙌🏽
