People saying she should’ve fled, don’t know who Rhaenys is. She’s not a coward, she’s a badass. Took on 2 dragons and would’ve killed sunfyre if it weren’t for Aemond which I think it was important for Aemond to take Aegon down as it’s pushing for an interesting storyline between them. If you notice, Aemond had to sneak attack Rhaenys in order to kill her, because Rhaenys WAS beating them. Meleys and Rhaenys made them fall to the ground and put up a really good fight. She went out like a true dragon rider!! Also Rhaenys leaving would make that whole mission pointless so I’m glad they stayed and even though one of the best characters is gone, her impact will be massive. RIP to the queen who should’ve been and to Meleys!
I loved seeing Rhaenys running circles on them. At least she went out with fire and determination.

I even felt bad for Sunfyre! His screams! He was just no match for Meleys.
Ironically, this parade with Meley's head could be the setup for the storming of the Dragon Pit. This display showed the people of Kings Landing that the dragons were not untouchable and that the House of Dragon was weak and vulnerable.

@@enozmah6081 What I mean is that doing this was a bad PR move. Even when Maegor was in power, the dragons didn't fight one another. This shows everyone how divided and weak the Dragon house is. There is no Balerion The Black Dread anymore to instill the fear that kept the city in line and Vhagar is ancient. Lethal but ancient. Regardless of who sits the throne now, both the Greens and Blacks are now in a precatious situation. Couple this with starvation/desperation, it is not surprising that the Smallfolk took their chances with "smaller" dragons who while in the pit are chained and not able to fight back effectively.

I'm so glad that the show is a little different from the books as it seems. Because this means there's still surprises for me on the show even though I was spoiled thoroughly everytime. Even when you go to a group that literally is named after the show, the book readers( no offense I'm into reading also) always spoil it. Comes with some witty and winky ways to spoil it. They just cannot hold it at all. Cannot go anywhere to discuss the show and the recent episode you watched.

I think she realized Aemond on the throne would be a serious problem and wanted to try and stop it from happening. It was a much better heroic moment than what they tried to do with her at the coronation, when she caused deaths of dozens if not hundreds of commoners.

Alicent all but said she wanted her son to just be a puppet king while Aegon continued to act out, wanting to be mattered just by existing. Another reminder that the Greens are spoiled and ineffective royals who care about almost no one but themselves. So many episodes remind us of all the chaos in the show was started by Otto Hightown when he planned to have his daughter marrying Viserys.
True but remember, Viserys didn't have to marry Alicent. That was his choice. It's not like Otto blackmailed him or threatend him. Like Otto, there were plenty other familys who tried to push their daughters as new wife like Corlys and Rhaenys for example tried with Laena. Had they suceeded and Laena had given Viserys a male son the Velaryons would have probably insisted on the male succesion as well... So I think it is too easy to blame everything on Otto. The fault is mostly with Viserys for beeing to indicisive and weak. He should have just stayed single. Then the throne would have gone to either Rhaenyra or Daemon.
@@HennesIX Also true, Viserys intended to have Rhaenyra succeed him, there is no point to have another heir, so whether he still desired a son or was lonely and still needed someone or just caved due to political pressure, he also helped starting this chaos. Even worse, he was willfully naive or blind to see that the right of succession would be challenged. But to be fair, since he never once mentioned he at any time changes his mind, it was Alicient who heard what she wanted to hear to really got things rolling after his death.
It was Viserys' choice to marry Alicent, and all Alicent said was for Aegon to literally shut up and do nothing (which he should; he's rash, impulsive, and completely inexperienced as we just saw this battle). I don't know why you're making Alicent's request to be absurd when Aegon is a detriment to the greens at this point. Vhagar could have killed Rhaenys and Meleys on their own anyway because Sunfyre barely even got a scratch on Meleys before going to down, lol

it's mirroring each other because at the end the only loyal things were their dragons. Aegon had no one who loved him and Rhaenys was betrayed by Corlys which figured out because of how they look similar.

Sunfyre is not dead, maimed, but he will recover, alongside Aegon, so it is even more stupid, she died for no reason. In books it was stated that Vhagar attacked by suprise when Meleys was fighiting Sunfyre.
@@gonzommz1739 In all fairness she takes Sunfyre off the board. Thats why Kingslanding was left defenceless when Aemond went to take Harrenhal. It allowed Rhaenyra to claim the capital when he was gone. With pacifist Helaena and bed bound Aegon there was no dragon to guard the city. Rhaenys taking Sunfyre and Aegon out (temporarily) won the blacks the capital. The fall of Kingslanding could have been much bloodier otherwise.
@@gonzommz1739 let’s no forget that Moondancer wouldn’t have stood a chance against a healthy Sunfyre. Rhaenys efforts set Moondancer up for a much fairer fight. Otherwise Aegon would have took Kingslanding back with his dragon, fortunately for the realm Sunfyre died of the wounds inflicted by Moondancer.

Looks like Meleys is the giant dragon skull we saw in GOT.
With Otto and Rhaenys gone both teams have lost there only logical brain cells.
The only issue is they went emotional with the dragon battle. Tactically speaking, after the death spiral claw grip thing, Meleys should have strafed over Vhagar with fire rather than flying out of the smoke. Aemond could've been burned easily cause Vhagar cant defend the back.

Rhaenys dragon Meleys, the Red Queen, she met two dragons. Sunfyre, ridden by King Aegon II, and Vhagar, ridden by Aemond. Though she and Meleys fought until the last moment, Vhagar overpowered them, and she fell to her death.😢😢😢

It's sad because they've now lost their biggest dragon. They had the numbers to win the war easily but the numbers are now dwindling quickly. If only team black would just go all out!

And then they turn Rhaenys brain off so she becomes suicidal and keeps charging into battle even after accomplishing more than what she came for and even when she’s terribly outmatched. Such a needless character death just to have another "oh no, everyone can die!" moment…
Aegon was never meant to be a villain and he was recorded to have actually been ferocious in this fight but you know 😒 the writers are team black.
@@badyoutuber1986 I definitely like him as a character and think he has some genuinely good qualities. Maybe calling him a villain was the wrong term. Still, he’s on the throne stealing side of the conflict, and GoT is so annoying when it comes to actually putting these characters at danger. My favorite example of this was Oberyn vs the mountain. They‘ll always head back and pull something from their ass to save the antagonists and kill the protagonists last second just so they can keep their image of "everyone can die🤓" and "iTs ReAlIsTiC"

@@badyoutuber1986 true, I just sympathize with Aegon a *whole* lot more than I do with Aemond. One‘s a poorly raised kid who tries to fill the shoes he was unwillingly thrown in, the other is a sociopathic pos who always thought he was the man only to get manhandled by some kids half his age who he’s now mad at even though he’s responsible for everything that happened to him that night
Any reason why several other dragons are seen more frequently than Sryax? As Rhaenyra's dragon, she should get more action.
She is shit dragon ! More like just a show dragon ! She fights hand battle with her claws in dragonpit with humans and dies ! Yep thats the queens dragon ! Sunfyre was a lot better than her !
She has no use in the show other than her death in the dragon pit.
