- It turns out that big flatties have got way more fight then I imagined, I found out first hand just how hard they can pull and how addictive it can be to chase them. This is the first time I have dedicated my time on the water to just chasing monster flatties and wow, just wow! Join myself along with a mash up of fellow croc hunters on this 5 day trip to Forster on the mid north coast of NSW.

That’s one epic adventure boys! Incredible stuff. What a session
Crazy aye, I don’t think we will ever see a flatty session like that one again.
So many familiar spots fished in this vid. From a Flattie fanatic, Well done.
Thanks mate, I love the place. I’ve been fishing the lake since my Dad and Pop taught me how to fish up there over 30 years ago.
Bloody top fishing boys .
Great memories for all.
Well done
Thanks Reg, it was a great trip. That session with my brother was unbelievable
Love the content Dan and boys.Well done team.👏👏
Thanks John, happy to hear you are enjoying it. This was definitely not my easiest edit, with no real plan and a mash up of people and sessions it took some effort to get the flow right. Luckily the amazing fishing made that side of it easier.
Epic Session Fellas
I Love chasing Flatties
Some great memories
Cheers Stevo

Hey Steve, they are a very cool species to chase in all sizes. Unbelievable session, one that will be hard to beat especially out there fishing with my boys and my brother.

Certainly will
I went chasing them today
50 & 56cm, in solid condition/ thick
Dropped a couple of big girls & let 1/2 a dozen smaller ones grow bigger
Great morning before the heat
Easy to think it'll always be like that. Haha what a session probably won't sink in until you have a donut session
Not me mate, coming from the fresh water it pays to appreciate each and every session both good and bad. We were completely blown away, it was just a couple clues we got coming together quickly for us. It could have gone the other way, and that’s a big part of why we love it. 🎣
Insane video mate good stuff
Hey Joel, thanks so much mate. Greatly appreciated.
You'd win a comp with a session like that Dan.
Your editing is getting good 👍🏻
Mate that was an unreal session, unbelievable. I put a bit more into the filming of this one, which takes a fair bit of effort but makes for a great edit.

One of your best yet, well done 👍🏻
great fishing mate i know this area seen i live here like my cod fishing / and a lure maker /// liipsmackin lures
Thanks mate, I learned how to fish up there with my Dad and Pop when I was a kid. They both lived up there for a bit over the years and so I have built up a reasonable amount of knowledge ( always learning) I do a lot more fresh water fishing for Cod yellas and trout, I’ll have to check out your lures.
Mate some bloody crakin fladdys awesome stuff 👍🏻👍🏻 what size plastis were you throwing or were they swimbaits ?
It was crazy to find so many great fish, once we worked out where they liked to feed it was all on. I was throwing a 6” CAST Prodigy mostly and also the bait junkie 6.2
My brother was throwing an 8” Biwaa.
They were quality fish Dan.
Weren’t they ever, we were blown away by the number of big fish we not only caught but seen as well. It’s amazing what you can do and see if you focus on a specific target
Hey Dan, what is your swimbait rod setup ?
This one is a Shimano Zodias 7’5 12-25lb matched with an Abu revo rocket high speed reel. 50lb Dogtooth braid
Hi Dan, do you have a video on how to rig a treble hook to the 6” Cast paddle tail?
Hey mate, I did shoot a bit of rigging footage that didn’t make it in this clip. It was a pretty rough set up as I wasn’t overly prepared or equipped. I’ll see if I can put something together but basically I split ringed off the main hook and held it in place with a length of braided line.
wheres your gopro chest mount from
It’s a GoPro brand, can’t remember where I bought it from sorry.
Hey mate. Did you up the size ov your leader from 30. What leader was your brother running? Awesome session guys well done
Hey Jason, I ran 30 and 40lb. I’m glad I was running 40 when that last fish put me around the pole.
Hey Dan did you do a video for the father son comp at woolgarlo
I did film mate and will be putting a clip together but this one will be a little different too the rest. More a punchy, fun clip with short cut outs from the go pro’s.
