    Dear brother
    1.What if the tester glows at any point on the circuit board .What could be the reason ?
    2.What is the best book for learning designing electronic circuits?
    Thanks

    • @HaseebElectronics
      @HaseebElectronics  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      1. if the tester is glowing in all the circuit, that means that there is leakage in isolation or it may have floating ground
      2. designing is deep sea, first it needs to do complete design engineering in the specific category

    the ground is very annoying specially when it is touched slightly will give you big shocked so as always i always remove the safety capacitor from primary ground and secondary ground and viola no more annoying shock ground from live. done this in all my smps no effect whatsoever its just a useless filter haha why they put that annoying ground anyways, so useless no benefit at all, prove me wrong pls

    • @HaseebElectronics
      @HaseebElectronics  ปีที่แล้ว

      you are right. this capacitor is most effective when this power supply is being operated in high electromagnetic radiation area and it is driving some sensitive load. in this situation it will pass the common mode noises to the load and the load may damage, especially in case of microcontrollers, it causes to create false actions by the MCU or sometime it damages the circuit as well.
      in routine, the common mode noises can e ignored, but it is better to remove common mode noises

    Sir what is the use of class y capacitor between primary and secondary side of SMPS? As primary side and secondary side ground are already connected by metallic chasis!

    I have a 12 volts 2 Ampere set top box adapter whose output jack when touched with line tester the tester lamp glowing although I don't get electric shock on touching with hand. Why so? How to resolve it?

  • @amitghosh6966
    @amitghosh6966 ปีที่แล้ว

    I have two old 12 Volt 2 Ampere adapters & both outputs have line tester glowing but I purchased a new 12 Volt adapter & there too the line tester glowing when power on & touching with it. Why this is happening in new one also?

    At 4:47, you said if the cap goes short, actually Y caps go open when they fail which is unlikely to happen, also when the ground is floating you can measure 120v AC difference between your body and any metal of the SMP, even the usb ports of the PC and is what is causing the shock without earthing, great video keep going :).

    As Smps is a switching device it will always make noice. So earth is compulsory as per your description. I tested on mobile chargers as it has no earth input. It has no such issue. I checked so many smps like this most of them glows tester except mobile chargers. So is it ok. You teached purpose of xy capasitor and its usage thanks for a big experience.
