Broooo you confirmed my insane suspicion this morning!!! I had to crack a brand new gallon of touchless in between washes today and the last two Washes of the day had thicker suds & better cling!! I was pleasantly shocked!! That was the thing I didn’t enjoy about the previous version of touchless, just a smidge to runny to last effectively as a mobile detailer here in Carlsbad California.

I like to work one panel at a time, and I do like to make one small exception when using Touch-less on a vehicle and thats to make contact with a detail brush on emblems, rubber trim, glass, etc and even use a magic eraser on the glass and side mirrors during the normal dwell time, before the rinsing off. This then allows Touch-on to bond better in those areas, incredible finish on glass with only Auto QD to finish up later on in the detail

I find BH Touchless so insanely good at pre washing that my quick washes consist of just touchless then a drying towel. i know this as I have always had spotless clean rinse buckets numerous times and by the feel of the paint.
As long as the wax keeps the dirt from sticking it always all comes off.
I dont get that with any other products. So good.

    Great video.
Here's a suggestion for those who want a thicker foam but retain the properties.
When mixing your lance, add 10 ml of a thick foaming soap like Magifoam or Chmical Guys snow foam. I've found that it worked for people with low pressure machines and pump sprayers to get a better foam. Just remember that it's not about getting whipped cream on your car, the foam has to be able to slowly migrate down the sides of the car. For this reason, also remember to give the adjustment knob a few clicks when you start by foaming the roof to thin it out a bit there.

When I use Megs HCW in a wet manner (I use a noodle mitt rather than spraying it all over the place!), I finish by spending 1 min on the windscreen with a clay mitt. Get's off the over sprayed product and makes the wiper blades silent! I'm going to get some Touchless soon as my Auto Foam is almost run out. I'll skip the Touch On, purely because I am happy with Megs HCW (dry application base layer or wet application, spray off).

I brought touchless recently. I think it maybe the tweaked version. I usually like a thinner foam as easier to rinse away from the car and drive. But this surprise me with how easy it washed away even with it being quite thick on application and was still effective pre wash.
Event at 2% PIR it instantly reacted with dirt on the tyres almost like an APC. Which is usual for a snow foam. I don't think auto foam does that a 5%. However it was only summer dust so can't really make a judgement on the cleaning. Its does smell like Sugar soap from a DIY store, which make sense as it is a sugar based product.

I'd like Jon to dig a little bit deeper and explore how to maximise B.H products and testing to see the difference. Seriously good stuff- favourite product (might have guessed somehow). My method- Touchless on dry paint, B.H shampoo then snowfoam Touch-on as an LSP, dry. Perfect and protective results every time. Occasionally I'll use Autogylm ceramic detail spray (got for free £20 Halfords voucher with my car insurance using Confused and another £20 Halfords to buy more detailing tools from my house insurance too 🤫). Can't knock B.H a superb brand and proud its British. Thanks to Jon for being their product champion otherwise I would never have got into loving this brand. 🙏

Hi mate, this is an unrelated question, I think
... I wash my car very rarely due to time constraints and it gets covered in bugs due to high mileage done in the country side also covering the car in mud. As a pre wash I've been using the BH touchless with a touch of BH surfex hd mixed in a snow foam lance. Question is, is that an overkill for a pre wash or acceptable, essentially am I wasting one or the other product by mixing them together in a snow foam lance? Cheers John, much appreciated the content you release !

The built hamber stuff is all amazing but the touchon stuff I have been using for about 10 years. It was sold as wetwax2000 £25 for 25 litres of concentrate that I mix down 50:50. Its actually a product designed for car washes where the car is rinsed before it goes under the big blow dryer. It leaves an amazing shine and after applying and a really low pressure rinse the car is almost dry the water just runs off.

On my calculations, with the Bilt Hamber 4% it means I have to use 560ml on my 1L foam canon, correct? Were I live, touchless comes at 36.95€ per 5L, that comes to 4.14€ per foam canon. Currently I'm using LaboComestica Primus, 1:10 as recomended by them, on a price of 46.95€ per 4.5L which work to 0.95€ per foam canon. Is my math correct? What kind of foam cannon do you have? 14 litres??? Most are 1 litre or even less.
Anyhow, if what you have is a pump up sprayer and not a foam lance, you don't need to use 14 litres for a wash - that should last you 20 washes or more unless it is insanely inefficient. I like a 3% mix for my cars and I use 500 ml of water in a lance to foam up a car, i.e a full bottle on my MTM lasts me two cars. That comes to 15 ml per wash which equates to 330 or so washings from a 5000 ml jug. Anyhow, for 3% you need 420 ml for 14000 ml of water. Unless you overuse it somehow, I'd say there's about 200-250 washes in a 5l jug for you. That's a lot of detailing...

sorry chris. but you are falling into a trap. measuring alkalinity is not a measure of a products ability to strip protection or be like more harmfull or corrosive (at best it could be a vague finger in the wind). For example pure IPA is PH7 but it will strip protection more than any car surfactant even a PH13 one for example. the industry tries to sell you a PH neutral "mild" approach to cleaning. Things that make product strip LSP are caustic materials like sodium hydroxide, potassium hydrocide, phosphoric acid etc etc... Funny enough there are tons of mild ph neutral foams that use sodium hydroxide. Sodium hydroxide to this day is use in some old fashioned paint strippers.
