I’ve personally have given away my multiple bottles of Stoner Glass Cleaner because I’ve found that most of the Rinseless washes do a good or better job than Stoner. And it’s one less speciality bottle I have to keep track of it. The trick is using a sponge to wipe the glass with the rinseless solution so it traps some of the dirt first. And then wipe it down with a good drying towel leaves me happy.

Hi Pan I live in Scotland in the UK and have tried many glass cleaners. My go to was Stoners however this glass cleaner from BH is better by far. The surfactants cleans the glass super clean and it evaporates to a crystal clean finish.

Super video Pan. I've been a long-time user of Stoner's Invisible Glass and love the fact that it's very inexpensive and can be purchased at just about any store that I shop in. Although the Bilt Hamber product looks to be superior to Invisible Glass, the very high cost will keep me from purchasing it. Keep up the awesome work.

Just a follow up. Received my bottle of Trace Less and put it to work. I wasn’t disappointed. I have been using CarPro’s Clarify for several years and I was certainly content with the results it produced. But this is just so much more effective. The single issue that convinced me was the way it cleaned the inside of the windshield. My only tip or advice is not to overspray the product. You do not need a lot of product. I have found my new glass cleaner. 👍🏻👍🏻

This is a great answer for glass, especially the inside windshield. Even the best, like the stoner I use, takes some effort to finish streak free. In the US, Traceless is on a preorder. I’ll give it a try.

May seem a stupid question, but could this be used as a surface prep prior to coatings? Seems the ingredients are similar to the ones used in Surface Preps.
Also great that it evaporates, unsure if its safe on paint but could be a cheap alternative!

    • @PanTheOrganizer

I wouldn't recommend that. Use dedicated paint prep sprays when it comes to coating prep. And it's always recommended to use the same coating prep spray as the coating brand you are applying if possible.

I admit I am a bit obsessive when it comes to clean windows in my car and house. With Spray Away I have cleaned my house windows outside at -20F using a hairdryer. I purchased the Ammo Obey glass cleaner and used it for the first time this week. Wow!!!! My windows are unbelievably clear and streak free. I think Obey would work in the cold because it is like a dry glaze before you do the microfiber wipe. I can’t wait to order Traceless. It looks more like a traditional “wet” glass cleaner vs Obey feeling like a wax feel. It’s below freezing now, so I have the hairdryer ready! (My car windows get washed in the warm garage.)

30C is up there with the limits of storing products for sure. 35C is usually the highest temperature. Beyond that the products can start going bad. The solution is to have a heat pump like I have in my garage. I can keep my garage at a steady 20C year round, winter and summer.

I find Sprayway "Foaming" glass cleaner to be a great performer for the money! Even when cleaning just the dirty windows, with a clean microfiber cloth, it doesn't leave as much mess.
Maybe your windshield got treated to something especially tenacious and smeary? 🤔😁

Interesting test with the sharpie, but one i'd really like to see is how these glass cleaners work on something more oily. I was using solutions trim, restore black and accidentally got some on one of the car windows. Between water, dry cloths, and IPA, it still took me 10 or 15 minutes to clean off. It would be great if these glass cleaners would help in that scenario

Pan, I saw in another reply that it’s safe to use on coated glass. I assumed you were referring to a ceramic coated window. Just to confirm, would this be a better cleaner to use for maintenance after a car wash on windows coated with Soft99 Glaco Ultra? I’m asking because I was about to order the Soft99 Glaco de Cleaner and I am wondering if this Bilt Hamber Traceless window cleaner is a superior product, keeping in mind that Soft99 claims that its Glaco de Cleaner not only cleans but also adds a layer of Glaco lite coating.

    1) pre wash i use the "invisible Glass" and a magic eraser and scrub the surface so i get all the crap off and the wipe with a fresh waffle weave towel.
    2) i use Adams Brilliant Glaze with a waffle sponge applicator on the whole window and let the whole thing sit until dry .
    3) use a fresh short nap microfiber to take off the Adams Brilliant Glaze.
    4) wash the car as normal.
    5) when drying the car i never touch the front window again i just use my eGo blower on the front window and it's perfect... and i only call it perfect because i can pull out the driveway and directly into the sun and it's absolutely streak free... I know it sounds strange but it's the only way I've been able to have the wife say "that looks amazing" ... weird i know but happy wife happy life

Let the microfiber bonnet do the work. I wash my glass towels separately from other towels. Less pressure works better on glass because it has no pores and can't be penatrated. Can this be used on a windshield that has ceramic?

I wouldn't use it on such an amount of dirt as that, but as you say, wash the car first. I've used the Trace Less for a a few months now and it's by far the best glass cleaner I've use to date.

What about the interior glass with a heavy off gas film? Always been a pain for me.
    Great vids, love your stuff

You would always start by degreasing the interior of the windshield first, before using the glass cleaner. That will get you crystal clear glass.

Interesting test. I think that the pump sprayer version of Invisible would be a more accurate comparison. As for the sharpie, I suspect the BH would impact the durability of a glass coating too, which would not be desirable.

It doesn’t impact a glass coating. I have a glass coating on both our vehicles and use BH often. Zero change in hydrophobic properties. Pete Hamber (owner and chemist) confirmed that it’s totally safe on coated cars.
Coatings have a very high resistance to chemicals.

Really interesting, looks like a great product. My only concern is how it could affect after market tints because of the alcohol content...but otherwise it's great. Thank you.

No worries on tints. It’s tint safe as it doesn’t contain ammonia. I have tinted windows on all our vehicles and use it all the time.
