@@jonathanvelazquezph.d.2719 No. Perfect Days is the comeback film from legendary filmmaker Wim Wenders. It tells the story of Hirayama who works as a toilet cleaner in Tokyo. He seems content with his simple life. He follows a structured everyday life and dedicates his free time to his passion for music and books. Hirayama also has a fondness for trees and photographs them. More of his past is gradually revealed through a series of unexpected encounters.
I don’t get the May December hype. I thought it was just okay. It’s not funny so I don’t know why it’s in comedy when it’s clearly a drama. Also, you forgot to mention another part of the corruption scandal about the Globes in 2021 was they had NO black members. THAT is why the membership has changed. The Holdovers is my favorite film so far of the year so I hope it gets recognition. I’m hoping for surprises.
I think the Holdovers will win Comedy. It just feels like the type of safe HFPA decision. Look at how “American Hustle” beat “Wolf of Wall Street”, “Green Book” beat “The Favorite” and “Vice”, “The Martian” beat “The Big Short” and most recently, at least at the globes “Banshees” beat “EEAAO”.
I’m predicting The Holdovers will win Best Screenplay at the Golden Globes considering a top 2 contender for Best Original Screenplay wins the screenplay Golden Globe.
Catherine Zeta Jones showed up as a lead in Chicago - but later switch to supporting for other award shows, but that said I think Ryan will be supporting.
It would be wise to stay supporting. He'd only have Robert Downey Jr. to compete with. Whereas, in lead, he'd be crushed by Giamatti and Jeffrey Wright.
She’s my number 1. Went back and forth between her and Danielle Brooks, but The Holdovers being a bigger contender + critics sweep… yeah, I’m feeling it
I have in my #1 Picks for golden globes: motion picture drama: Oppenheimer. Motion picture comedy: Poor things. Drama lead actor: Bradley cooper for Maestro. Drama lead actress: Lily Gladstone for killers of the flower moon Comedy Actor: Paul Giamatti for the holdovers. Comedy actress: Natalie Portman for may/December with #2 emma stone for poor things. Director: Christopher Nolan for Oppenheimer Supporting Actress: Rachel McAdams for Are You there god it’s me Margaret or #2 DAvine Joy Randolph for the holdovers Supporting actor: Robert Downey Jr for Oppenheimer. Screenplay: The Holdovers Original Score: My money is on Poor Things or #2 Oppenheimer. Original Song: What Was I Made for(Billie Ellish) from Barbie. Animated feature film: The boy and the heron, Hayao is about to retire man! International feature: The Zone of Interest from U.K.
ew guys, it's just annoying how people are underestimating Davine Joy Randolph. She's sweeping critics groups + NBR. She's clearly not Caitriona Balfe lol The Color Purple doesn't have the same pedigree as WSS and miss AFI/NBR and is very vulnerable for Best Picture.

If I had an award show, Suzume would win best picture and there would be no killers of the flower moon or past lives snubs and there can be multiple films from a country in international features.
i dont know who told yall that supporting actors are better than Fantasia cause thats a lie she most reviews are saying she is right up there with them
before watching any of this video, i’m just gonna call it rn that they might put ryan gosling in comedy lead, like what they did with maria bakalova in 2021. before jeffrey wright started showing up everywhere, i figured that be a guaranteed televised award win for gosling, but now i’m wondering if he’s screwed either way. just putting it out there
I definitely prefer Killers over Oppenheimer. It's more entertaining. Oppenheimer is a snoozer. I don't think a single film besides those two stands a chance at the actual win here or at Oscar.
Am starting to think Howerton could start sneaking in. If he keeps up these circuit noms (and De Niro keeps missing and the Poor Things boys hurt one another’s chances and Brown and Sessa don’t garner enough hype and etc etc), things might work out in his favor
@@pb.j.1753and most of the supporting performances that get nominated generally come from Best Picture nominees. Now having said that I would love to see Glenn Howerton get nominated as he as really good in Blackberry and it was one of my favorite films of the year making my top 10 most likely hen I do my top 10 lol.
Best Actor is Bradley Cooper’s to lose I think. It’s his 9th or 10th nomination across multiple categories people seem to like the performances more than the film and I think voters will want to give it to him. He is this generations Warren Beatty.

it’s weird to hear you guys being dismissive of the boy and the heron, the second highest rated ghibli film on metacritic and great audience scores… i think you guys need to reassess your thoughts
I honestly dont think Leo is getting anywhere, nominationwise, globes seems like the most probable choice, but I dont see him getting into the Oscars at all....Just my opinion.
I REALLY want to see Pemberton’s name on Monday. No one’s doing what he’s doing, the score for Spiderverse 2 is absolutely masterful and ties the film together perfectly
what was i made for is winning no doubt. it's nominated for record of the year and song of the year at the grammys, and could win either or both. it's not often that a song from a movie makes such a huge cultural impact.
I’m Just Ken is a much better song from the movie imo. Not to mention it’s been recent that she won an Oscar anyway. I think someone else should have a chance to win.
@@laurajones1773this is interesting to hear. I respect your opinion. I disagree though, I think I'm just ken is a fun number in the movie but not a very good song. But I hear a lot of more movie people liking it, whereas I think what was I made for is bigger with the general public because it's like an actual normal hit on the charts. I personally think what was I made for is one of the best songs in recent memory. But either way I think that the academy will be more on the side of what was I made for, with her recent win for a worse song only strengthening the case for their love for her. We'll see!
I think What Was I Made For? the worst song in the movie. It’s a good song, but it’s a typical pop song in a movie sung by a pop star. I’m Just Ken is a more memorable and catchy song. I thought Dance the Night was also a better song than What Was I Made For?

I hope I'm right too. I think hers is probably my #1 supporting actress performance of the year at this point.
Then she won for I care a lot
@@bradysmith4405 That too. Just another reason I'll be predicting her.
I’m almost certain she’s getting in.

Iron Claw and Perfect Days?! Hell yeah!!
Does Perfect Days have anything to do with Better Days?
@@jonathanvelazquezph.d.2719
No.
I’m hoping for surprises.
i hate May December. A joke of a movie so at least it is in the appropriate Comedy section lol
Congratulations on the app 👏 🎉
I think the Holdovers will win Comedy. It just feels like the type of safe HFPA decision. Look at how “American Hustle” beat “Wolf of Wall Street”, “Green Book” beat “The Favorite” and “Vice”, “The Martian” beat “The Big Short” and most recently, at least at the globes “Banshees” beat “EEAAO”.
Me too, I think that Paul and Davine will win both Actor in a Comedy/Muscial and Supporting Actress, respectively. I'm not sure about Screenplay.
I’m predicting The Holdovers will win Best Screenplay at the Golden Globes considering a top 2 contender for Best Original Screenplay wins the screenplay Golden Globe.
I just wish About Dry Grasses got literally any recognition, it deserves to be an actual competitor for the International Win.
ain't nobody got time to watch a damn 4 hour movie
@@pb.j.1753meanwhile Zack Snyder fans…
@@pb.j.1753 It's just over 3...
@@pb.j.1753Did you forget about Killers of the Flower Moon?
I like that you guys mentioned what your parents thought about May December. No parent would feel comfortable about the subject matter in that film.
Y’all are very wrong about Lily Gladstones presence in the film
Da’Vine Joy Randolph is winning so many critics awards though, I would say she’s more in this than you guys think
Her momentum is so strong. there's passion for the holdovers. Everybody is raving about this film
I agree. I don’t know why a lot of people think Danielle Brookes will win.
It's the battle of the D ladies
International feature: The Zone of Interest from U.K.
downloaded the app from Mexico, thanks Brother Bro! :)
I kinda believe more in suzume than the TMNT movie, since the golden globes were the only ones to recognize inu-oh last year
ew guys, it's just annoying how people are underestimating Davine Joy Randolph. She's sweeping critics groups + NBR. She's clearly not Caitriona Balfe lol The Color Purple doesn't have the same pedigree as WSS and miss AFI/NBR and is very vulnerable for Best Picture.
ive never downloaded an app faster
Nice predictions.
Glad to see you guys are doing well!

Greta Gerwig will get in everywhere, EVERYWHERE! Even the Baftas! Barbie was a huge deal over here. People dressing up at the cinema, everyone wearing pink, it was very much a thing. I really can’t see her being missed off anywhere.
focus features fyc has no lead actor for asteroid city, they put Schwartzman in supporting
Not that it necessarily matters for globe but Howerton did get nominated by both Chicago and Las Vegas today

Cole I read somewhere that the Oscars changed the rules to only allow 2 songs from the same movie to be nominated for original song after Enchanted got 3 songs nominated… is that correct?! I saw on Award Expert that you’re currently predicting 3 songs from barbie.
True
Yes that is correct only 2 songs max allowed from 1 film.

If I had an award show, Suzume would win best picture and there would be no killers of the flower moon or past lives snubs and there can be multiple films from a country in international features.
i dont know who told yall that supporting actors are better than Fantasia cause thats a lie she most reviews are saying she is right up there with them
babe wake up oscar expert is active again!
fell asleep during maestro.
3 days to get through that film.
not sure what it was about.
An animated movie that could get a surprise nomination is the chinese "Deep Sea" imo
Oh my god im so excited about this app 👀

I am sad to see the great and absolutely funny performance from Marshawn Lynch in Bottoms did not make your list.
The app is so awesome omg!!! Congrats Brother Bro!!
Why is she (Lily Gladstone) in the lead category....her role in "Killers of the Flower Moon" seem like a supporting role??
🤔
air might be the most globes movie of all time but i think may december just has the juice
The app is so cool. Great job with it.
I’m only watching for the cat 🐱❤️
before watching any of this video, i’m just gonna call it rn that they might put ryan gosling in comedy lead, like what they did with maria bakalova in 2021. before jeffrey wright started showing up everywhere, i figured that be a guaranteed televised award win for gosling, but now i’m wondering if he’s screwed either way. just putting it out there
also paul giamatti’s in the mix, so either way, it’s a 2-3 horse race
If Gosling is lead, I honestly think he'd be even more likely to win
@@reecejennings9637😬
I definitely prefer Killers over Oppenheimer. It's more entertaining. Oppenheimer is a snoozer. I don't think a single film besides those two stands a chance at the actual win here or at Oscar.
Am starting to think Howerton could start sneaking in. If he keeps up these circuit noms (and De Niro keeps missing and the Poor Things boys hurt one another’s chances and Brown and Sessa don’t garner enough hype and etc etc), things might work out in his favor
A performance from an IFC movie is not gonna sneak in anywhere lol
And what I mean is IFC has no money to campaign.
Oops I put the Cooper remark in the wrong place 🤣🤣
The Holdovers deserves score nomination
I feel dumb that I was still predicting Hit Man and it ain’t even out
I also have the iron claw on my top 6 for Drama
I'm proud to say I put The Iron Claw in my predictions BEFORE I watched this video 😎
As a huge wrestling fan, I can't wait to see it
no love for Blackberry?
Congrats on the app!!
Great app! I will not care to pay for it but I understand not everyone would be down to pay… so maybe you can put an option of donations like Wikipedia or idk! But great work guys!
I did not even know Rustin was released on Netflix😢
Hi Oscar Expert just like this video 🤗🤗
May December a comedy??? The Globes being the Globes again... We need Justin Triet for directing
Making an app was a good shout
killers of the flower moon is doing VERY well w early critics and oppenheimer has been doing just okay. i know its still early, but i think rn kotfm is way stronger than oppenheimer.
Yeah, I don't see this love he's talking about for Oppenheimer. People love Barbie, and love Lily Gladstone. But the Oppenheimer love is only between film twitter and film bros. I am predicting Barbie and Killers to be the big Oscar winners.
A couple of those critics' awards always go for Scorsese. Same with The Irishman, and we all saw how that went.
@@samuelblack1687 I think ppl love Cillian and are okay w RDJ and Blunt but idk if Nolan will win director
@@rehnumachowdhury3629 I see ur point but I think lily gladstone being so strong rlly helps KOTFM and the political edge makes it more of a BP winner to me
@oolongtea4013 do you think they might give actor to cillian to acknowledge the film, and box office and give film to kotfm then?
it’s weird to hear you guys being dismissive of the boy and the heron, the second highest rated ghibli film on metacritic and great audience scores… i think you guys need to reassess your thoughts
Is brother bro in engineering? Howd u create an app
feels like your number 1 and 2 in comedy actor will fight it out for the best actor win at the oscars.... Just my opinion
Oscar related but Zone of Interest just won the L.A. film critics awards, do you think that’ll make some sort of impact at the Oscars?
I appreciate you guys
No Android version of the app?
gladstone has the narrative, that's it.
😬
The Globes love Sterling K Brown. He won 2 for Best TV drama actor for This is Us.
saltburn feels like a very globesy movie to me I think it will do surprisingly well especially with the 6 slots
18:28
This list is missing Trace Lysette big time!
I honestly dont think Leo is getting anywhere, nominationwise, globes seems like the most probable choice, but I dont see him getting into the Oscars at all....Just my opinion.
Well he got nominated for Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, so he still has a chance.
I REALLY want to see Pemberton’s name on Monday. No one’s doing what he’s doing, the score for Spiderverse 2 is absolutely masterful and ties the film together perfectly
Every nerd: Where tf is Godzilla?!!
I really hope Killers of the Flower Moon wins best picture. It really deserves it.
what was i made for is winning no doubt. it's nominated for record of the year and song of the year at the grammys, and could win either or both. it's not often that a song from a movie makes such a huge cultural impact.
We'll see!
@@Theodora7worse song? Please elaborate.
I think What Was I Made For? the worst song in the movie. It’s a good song, but it’s a typical pop song in a movie sung by a pop star. I’m Just Ken is a more memorable and catchy song. I thought Dance the Night was also a better song than What Was I Made For?
@@jonathanvelazquezph.d.2719referring to her song she won for for James Bond!
I agree with you. I don't see what the hype is about with Gladstone either.
Same. The performance is good but I think people are allowing the narrative to drive their hype for her. Personally I'm rooting for Emma Stone.

This list I really missing “It Went Away” by Jon Batiste from American Symphony. For my money, there has not been a song that made me so emotional moved, in a film, other then this one, this year.
