In today's video I try out the NEW Atlas OS which has recently come out with Windows 11 support. Lots of people use AtlasOS thanks to my videos on it and today it's got even better we're going to be trying the NEW Atlas OS on my Low-End PC
AtlasOS is an Optimised version of Windows with minimal background Processes, Reduced latency and will help improve our FPS and performance on Minecraft, The project is open source and is install slightly different to other OS that I've featured on my channel
If you are always looking for a good OS like I am then I think I may of found it, Let me know if you want me to compare this to other custom OS's such as ReviOS or Windows AME
This version of Windows optimises Windows settings, removes all bloatware from the OS and removes privacy intrusive telemetry services from Microsoft.
The specs of the PC I'm using to run AtlasOS:
Intel Core i5 4460 CPU, 8GB DDR3 RAM, GTX 1060, 500GB SSD
Also note: do not use the CTT tool to tweak AtlasOS like I did otherwise it may lead to broken installs. I simply tried for entertainment purposes as it is by no means by main system.

Latest video comparing AtlasOS to ReviOS and Tiny11 is now live: th-cam.com/video/2Ya18RAB9Z8/w-d-xo.htmlsi=RKjZRpPxm4xXrpfA
I also answer a lot of the common questions about AtlasOS that I received on this video there too
dan could you please compare atlas os 11 vs atlas os 10 just to see whats better
You should try to install tiny 11 then atlasos on that and then revolt os on top of that I old computer that I use for experiments
TH-camr XxSpeedyXx stole your thumbnail of your video.
Couldn't you also just pre install windows then in Languages set it to world wide?
Hey. I've got a question. How do we update the AtlasOS? Do we redo the whole process like clean installing windows the windows and applying AtlasOS? or there's another way?
i wish normal windows just didn't have so much bloat but until then, good job Atlas!
Sup guniy pig
Yoo guiny gamer
Guiny i love you bro (no homo)
Can you teach & review the new Revi Os because they migrated to AME playbook
Bluetooth not working
Never expected Atlas OS to be ported to Windows 11, but I'm not complaining
It's been a long time coming but it looks like I can finally use it
@@NotroDanoh really are you going to switch to altas?
@@NotroDanBro I can't access anything in my pc because of you this is os AEM 11😟😟😟
@@RUOK2MFFdo you have a use ?
@@RUOK2MFFif so then you can just do a new install
i'll be giving this a try sometime after backing up what i currently have for my current Win 11 install on my gaming laptop... I do hope for even bad PC ports shine brighter for example GTA IV and SR2
Please compare Windows 10 22H2 (Atlas Edition) & Windows 11 (Atlas Edition) in any future video so people can choose between the two . This would clear that exactly how much fps difference it makes .
Sure thing!
@@NotroDanyou should check out windows x lite
Pls review on cm client
do you need to reinstall windows for atlas? i wan a windows 10 atlas version since i hate 11 but do i have to reisntall?@@NotroDan
@@NotroDan please do compare the fps
your answer in this video is a blessing from GOD I'll make a restore point and then run Atlus OS installer... time to get bad PC ports to really seem overhated for example again GTA IV, SR2, Mafia 3, and the GTA definitive trilogy
Hey there NotroDan after you show AtlasOS 10 im using and no problems on my Celeron 1007u 2GB ram and 500gb HDD
That point when you're going restart but hit "Sleep" instead.... @12:52
It happens to us all at some point, myself included...
Not surprising the process count didn't decrease D:
Ahah my mistake! some other people have noticed that too, I think AtlasOS is optimised fairly well as it is so it didn't make much difference. Also not recommended to optimise Atlas further but I did just for entertainment
@@NotroDan or maybe Atlas OS' optimization is more aggressive than ctt's, which is probably overcooked at that point.
This is a great video thank you. I've been looking at putting Windows on my SteamDeck and this would massively help streamline that process as it takes a lot of tweaking. Would love to see gaming performance comparison with and without Atlas on an OOTB install. Thanks again
Did you put atlas on your steam deck?and if you did what's the performance like
@@KashFargoatlas is kinda smoother if yk what I mean and also I have seen slightly increase in fps not a lot but like 10-15 frames but I overall rate it decent 👍
The process didn't go down because instead of restarting you used sleep after applying CTT's tool. Can you run valorant in it and confirm that it can be used as a gaming PC :)
Finally! Now I can finally get that new UI with a faster experience!
We need a version of this tuned to home-servers! I have a Win11 box that runs 24/7 and any decrease hardware/power utilization is very welcome.
lol that’s what I was looking for a barebones windows to run a small server.
Youre sad if you have to run a server on windows 💀
@@ZoomX05 I have some Linux boxes also, but some software doesn't run on *nix, like anything Adobe.
@@jasont80 then theres your problem, you use adobe lmao
Finally notro is back. Good video I wanted Atlas is for win 11 so thanks.
Now they need to make a variant that can go with work stations. I want to see what this concept could do on a full tilt editing rig.
oh so its not yet compatible with workstation? i do use my pc for gaming and drawing
@@nyosantemtant1684 It's probably fine with a workstation, I think he just means completely catered towards a workstation build
The reason you have more processes ( 13:01) now than before is because you have a feature in Crish Titus's Windows Utility called "Set Services Manual" ( 12:24 ). Enabling it will enable other services and set most of them to manual. Personally, I prefer not to touch it and recommend setting services one by one.
its becouse he hit sleep insted of restart
Atlas reminds me of LastOS. LastXP was a good one. Many versions had other optional apps and configs, and a boot disk toolbox. 🤙🏽
Haha, it's like a blast from the past! AtlasOS bringing back memories of LastXP? I guess good things never really go out of style
My gaming of runs 11 fine but this sounds interesting. Might play around with it in a virtual machine for a while and see if I like it.
The time for releasing a new version was so huge... I was thinking if they din't stopped the project without alert us
Yeah I'm glad they did it for Windows 11 I can see myself using this now
I using currently on window 10 it does work everything is snappier no bloatware its just amazing how this.mood makes windows flying carpets
WW will use prob idk, good vid !!
i love your content i have been watching since your first video about linux
Thank you
How are the updates? Do we only get regular security updates from windows or what? Do we need to install them manually every time? I am thinking about giving it a go, but I want it to be plug and play after it is installed.
Still worried about security concerns on AtlasOS. Buuut it does have an option to have Windows Defender so that alleviates my concerns significantly. I might actually install this on my main rig in the future if I wanna do a clean reinstall of everything.
removing defender in is the main reason for this fps boost and 1% lows, if u decide to keep W defender then i dont think u need atlas
Muchísimas gracias por compartir este video tan completo!! Saludos desde Argentina! 🔵⚪🔵
I will be installing it after watching ur video thanks notrodan
Just installed this on my Surface Book - what a difference in speed :O
Nice! let me know how it goes
Great Os I love it and happy birthday sorry I say late its 12:59 pm sorry
Will try this later
I'm running Windows 10 X-Lite, which is pretty amazing. It's cut my background processes down to 93. I'll be interested to see how AtlasOS compares.
Yeah I've heard of that before, definitely try Atlas and see what you think
you can also use ventoy i prefer that over to refus just drag and drop the iso to usb and your done
Ventoy is great till you try to boot live environments. Seems to always give me a issue loading the kernel.
If you just use the standard ISO then you cannot remove the TPM check and the MS account requirement during install. Yes, the latter can be circumvented with a certain trick, but it's easier just to get rid of it by default. What I did was first make the bootable USB using Rufus. Then convert that to an ISO image and copy that to the Ventoy USB. It worked during install, but you have to remove the USB when the computer reboots and then put it back again fast once it boots from the SSD/HD. If you don't do that then the computer will boot from the USB again and you'll once again have the Ventoy menu. And you can't select Win at this point because you'll begin the install process again from the beginning.
Yay finally a vid
Atlas really knows how to make Windows 11
Wish you did an fps comparison on games
Just seen a video from another content creator who ran a comparison and utilised tbe Heaven benchmark. Virtually no improvement over standard installation. Was an older machine though, perhaps that made a difference?
I guess it's different for all PCs out there, lots of my audience have lower end PCs which something like this would be ideal for, personally I have a good PC so I just use standard Windows 11 Pro with the CTT to reduce unnecessary background processes
Great OS 👍 Still waiting for new notro client 😅 And happy birthday sorry if im late🎉🎉
Thank you!! hopefully Notro Client will be out by the end of the year
I tried to install Windows 11 on my old laptop, it works, but 2.5 GB of RAM usage was a lot. I think I'll try AtlasOS 11.
Assuming you have 4gb, it's probably just better to use atlas 10
@@mearetom I have 1 free slot for RAM. So, 4GB may become 12.
RAM usage doesn't mean a thing. It's *better* if Windows uses more RAM.
Windows preloads apps you use often into the RAM, making them faster to open. Less RAM usage means choppier PC overall.
Usually with no apps open, Windows should use about half of your RAM, and that's perfectly what it should do.
@@Alexciaooo It makes a huge difference when you have free ram for old computers. Having tight RAM can easily slow down CPU performance and GPU performance (If the computer uses integrated graphics) as it has to store remaining memory in a hard disk meaning it will be ridiculously slow on HDD, well for SSD, another reason to buy an SSD.
but ram usage does differ and is aautomatic like i have tried windows 11 on many; 3gb system it was using 1.5 - 2 gb,on 4gb it was using 2.5 - 3, on 8gb it was 3.5 - 5, on 16gb it is 5 - 8... so it is always trying to fill up memory for the experiance to be smoother. if you have an ssd @@mearetom
Finally
Finally notro upload new custom os
You are so good notro
We support you for ever , keep it up
Nice vid :)
You deserve more subscribers
@TheParkourMaster fr
Hahaha @TheParkourMaster
Thank you
happy birthday notro! (were a bit late)
some old games still requires the directX, does Atlas support this? because in tiny10 and tiny11, its impossible to install directX.. if theres even a way, its too difficult..
Please compare Windows 10/11 from AtlasOS and ReviOS. Curious to see the difference
my request too :)
Add GhostSpectre.
Coming up soon! stay tuned for it
Now is best atlas i think
Is atlas os better or the tiny 11 is better?
I have been using tiny 11 personally and its great but is it worth it shifting to atlas os?
Please tell
I will be comparing them in a future video make sure to look out for it :)
gonna use this on my Gaming laptop
Ghost Spectre 11 23H2 is far better for gaming and for weak machines... you should try it ! i run it on all my computers and never had any prob... for me it's the ultimate Mod OS to go !
Hey notro. Can you make a video about optimisations/applications for Mac? Would be much appreciated
YEAH HE SHOULD DO THAT
Interesting idea! I have an old macbook I could use for it
@@NotroDan out atlasOS and macOS and see what one runs better. from what I seen debloated windows runs better than macOS
@@NotroDan yes pls do it soon:D
@@Prince3ds😂😂😂😂
Do all drivers for high end parts work with this ?
programs like davinci resolve Adobe PP and other?
Is it possible to install Atlas OS on top Ghost Spectre? I reckon in theory it's possible but I hesitate to do it but it should work. Ghost Spectre does have its own ISO so reinstalling and upgrading Ghost Spectre shouldn't be a problem even if you install Atlas OS on top of Ghost Spectre. If it's not possible, is it too much to ask if Atlas can check if Ghost Spectre is installed and will refuse or warn to install on top of it for safety reasons.
Bro, please advise, what do you think using Atlas OS for DAWs such as Cubase, Ableton Live, Fruityloop, etc Thanks
shouldnt affect performance lol
Windows X-Lite 'Optimum 11 23H2 Pro' is still much better upon testing and comparison. You better test it yourself to see the big difference.
One question: My computer came with pre-installed windows 10 and it's genuine one. So if I install this OS will it remove my original windows from the backup/recovery?
I don't have a gaming PC but I'm running to install this to my surface book 1 will make my surface faster and not get hotter
Is altas os for win 11 is safer unlike old one afterall i saw lot of IT expert said altas os not being safe or somelike that?
Did you try a reboot after the AtlasOS?
YOOO this is sick ngl, definitely downloading this later, also how you been doing ?
Nicee! enjoy I've been great
Yooo best UPDATE EVER!
Hi, can you compare this Atlas OS with Ghost Spectre 23H2 ?
notro danny boy its been a while i havent watched you how ypu doinand nice video
Thank you
the beast ever...
Funny how quick people are to remote Edge. You should give it a chance, it is so much faster and lighter on memory than Chrome. I'm a heavy Chrome user but I use Edge for everything work related so I got both.
chrome also (atleast for me) runs some startup backtracking, where after you restart you system, it will take up cpu power and other resources and you need to end the task and it's really annoying.
Surely if Windows update is left on then the install will slowly revert back to default over updates and time?
That's what I'm thinking too, unless they've done something to say only install security updates not feature updates I guess time will tell
The issue with 23H2 is that it's not fully released out into the public (unless your finding an ISO) and even then some drivers are incompatable with said version of windows, I'd suggest sticking to windows 10 22H2 (for atlas) since it's fully compatable with all of the drivers avalable
What? 23H2 has been in the main release channel for 2-3 weeks now.
@@-eMpTy- from what I've saw, the majority of updates for games won't go through (especially newer titles) would NOT work, because I was on an "Incompatable version of windows" I'm not sure if it's the ISO I'm using but it's what I've saw on 23H2
@@yzi
Sounds like a you problem.
@@yzitry tiny 10/11 or ggos(is based on 10
the unique problem i saw is the update forces ingame the display drivers on amd and nvidia and causes crashes, every time it happened u need to do a ddu, and the unique solution is removing the optional drivers in the group directory, that happened on the develop channel when w11 releases
This is really nice for lower ram laptops aswell. Especially since its not upgradable anymore. Are there a lot of people with compatibilities issues ?
Not that I know of, obviously you would need to bypass Windows 11's requirements to get it to run on older hardware but Atlas is essentially just a post install script to optimise it further
I am lost to what version NotroDan runs on his main PC - why doesn't he do a before-after for the Minecraft FPS and not only the task manager?
I run a standard debloated Windows 11 on my main PC, I will try and do an FPS before and after next time but in this video it was mainly focused on my OS audience
can u make a windows comparison? ccompare atlas 11 vs ReviOs 11 vs Ghost Spectre 11 vs Windows X lite and if u can plis test KirbyOs and RapidOs
Happy birthday
will i be able to use wifi without installing drivers? or do i HAVE to get a ethernet plugged in?
Do i have to create another drive for atlas or PD will do ?
Hey dan can u plz make a vid about how to improve internet speeds to the full maximum cuz im experiencing low speeds aw my wifi is a mobile hotspot since its kinda slow if u make itll be much appreciated 😊
how is it supposed to help? nobody can turn shit into gold. buy a 5g/LTE router, put the router in a place with good reception and connect your laptop/PC/Mac to the modem. If the router is not far away you can connect it via wifi, if it is out of range or you have little reception, then use a LAN cable
If you don't have any money, ask your mom or go to work :)
I just want the classic theme back
Is it possible to install Atlas if your Windows 11 is already a few months old?
We have to make fresh install windows 11 and then atlas or we can do this without fresh install?
i have a question after install Atlas os is it will reset our pc? or keep our files?
I know window is good but I am Playing Minecraft on Linux so is there's a tutorial to optimise Minecraft for Arch Linux please
some details are missing i think at the video, like if i use Rufus and select my Windows iso , only click on start ?
I do wish to make the leap but I am lazy about fetching drivers... unless Device Manager can make it any easier after reinstall (I wish I could just have everything currently in windows transfer except the bloat)
Snappy driver installer is a great open source tool for getting drivers. Nowadays most drivers are just simple graphics, chipset and network drivers although if you're on a laptop there might be more to install
@@NotroDan yeah my setup uses a gaming laptop since a gaming desktop would use more energy
Hi...please do the comparison between windows Ghost spectre and Atlas,11
😀Great lift to remove EDGE!!! Love it so far 23h2.
That was interesting, but i am curious of what it is like in the long run.
Early versions of Atlas were not ideal since windows update and security updates weren't included but this latest version I think is the best of both worlds with it being able to function like a normal Windows 11 install
@@NotroDan The only thing that bother me is that we can't do security updates. But i am actually trying on a VM right now.
Question @notrodan
I am kinda new to this but just asking what would happen if you updated windows in atlaOS
It should be fine :) The new AtlasOS is designed to work with Windows updates
Do you think that AtlasOS works on the Asus ROG Ally?
Altas or Ghost spectre? Which is best for best Performance and for Best Gaming ❤
Do we need to have windows 10 or 11 to use this or like I am using win 10 but I can directly download atlas os for win 11...
Make video that runs a benchmark tool on the same computer, but with normal Win11 vs Atlas vs Rev.
Is it compulsory to install a new window 11 before installing atlas os
i want to say can the playbook and ame wizard work without installing a new windows 11 install
how good is this compared to the chris titus script?
Should i do it instant of my original windows 11?
13:09 uptime of 11 minutes even when he pressed sleep before... WDYM you restarted :D
what should i get atlas os 11 or tiny 11 ???
Will this work on VMware Fusion 13.5 on M1 Mac and fix Spiderman Remastered Direct X 12 error for PC
I'm using a laptop with RTX 3050 graphics so if I install this OS will I face any issues with the drivers
Which collection is better: Revi, Atlas, Ame 11?
What is your system configuration? Will it perfectly work on i5 3rd/ 4th generation?
The system I used in this video was a 4th gen i5 4460 and it works really well
Awesome
i still enjoy my ghost spectre builds
Thank you
recommend install on dell latitude 3120 (Celeron version)?
which one is better atlas or ghost spectre?
is it recommended to have a fresh install for win 11
What about installing it on a high end pc? Is it worth it?
do I ACTUALLY NEED to reinstall? or can i run Atlus with everything I currently have in Win 11
