Thanks for the video guys, very informative and helpful breakdown with a cool fix at the end. Question, is this information closely related for similar year generals or rangers also?
@sxs garage great explanation. My 06 Ranger 700 xp is struggling coming out of turf mode. Diff problem or transmission problem? I am worried it's a transmission problem which is why I watched your video. While on jacks, in neutral, I can spin driver tire and if I change from AWD, 2WD, 1WD it seems fine. If I move to L, H, or R and press the gas pedal it will do all 4 or the rear 2 but not 1. Transmission?
When you explained what happens when you shift into high from low. I assume this also applies to shifting from low into reverse? I plowed snow this last winter with my ranger 900 xp. And now in reverse I hear clicking and sometimes actually pops out of reverse. Even though I was always completely stopped when shifting in and out of reverse I assume most times I shifted it was not all the way down to idle. I just pulled tranny out to inspect dogs. Bit I assume this Is what happened. Your thoughts? Thank you
That depends on what gear reduction you are referring to. If you change out the actual low, high, or reverse at the input shaft and the corresponding gears they mesh with on the reverse shaft, then it will only effect that gear. If the gear reduction takes place anywhere after that it effects low, high, and reverse.
No. I own a Polaris so it is easier for some videos to be specific to them. Some videos so far are not machine specific and there's plans for future videos to cover more machines.
Again, as I said in part 3 you really rock on these Polaris tyrannies! WoW! Best I've seen!
Great job with the transmission videos! I wish you guys would have continued with quality content like this.
Very nice explanation on how a Polaris transmission works! Well done
Thanks👍
Great video - this channel definitely has some the potential to be a good one.
Great job guys! thanks for taking time to make this video. Excited for the second installment!
Thank you
I wish these videos were live when I did my gear reduction. Would have been nice to know what everything does
That's why we have been pushing to get these first few videos out. We have been getting bombarded with transmission questions.
Very informative!! Thanks, you guys are awesome.

Great video demonstrating gear engagement, relative to selection made by the driver (or operator).

Good info guys
Thanks guys. 👍🏻
Just found your videos, awesome job
My question with gear reduction. Is it only changing the Low range? Does it effect High range?

This video may have saved me! Is there any way I can get in touch with you to talk to you???
You can email sxsgarage@gmail.com or through rockreadyutv.com.
You can also message through our Instagram or Facebook pages.
having a hard time finding that snap ring delete spacer, do you have a link where I could find it ?
There's a link in the description from cryoheat.
Videos only gonna be for polaris?

Hey guys over weekend I broke about 7 teeth on my pinion shaft. Do you guys know where I can order another one??
Sorry I just saw this. You can purchase them from your local Polaris or online from sites like partshark.
I thought there was a reverse chain is this a 1000 transmission or 900
This is a transmission out of a 19 Turbo S. Naturally aspirated RZRs, except the RS1, have a reverse chain. Turbo machines have a geared reverse.
@@SXSGarage thanks for the info good to know
What oil do you run in your tranny?
