    • C-peptide - The Secret...
    C-peptide test is an important test that is largely unknown. When people think of the most important test for diabetes, they usually think of the A1c test. But a c-peptide test is actually more important in many cases because it can help a person find out if they are living with type 1.5 diabetes or if they are living with insulin dependent type 2 diabetes. C-peptide is commonly used for the very clear distinction between type 1 diabetes and type 2 diabetes.

    C-peptide is released into the blood as a byproduct of the production of insulin. This substance can be a game changer for many people living with diabetes. In this video you will see how Ann discovering her c-peptide saved her life. We have seen this happen in other clients as well. If you don't know your c-peptide level and are having trouble controlling your blood glucose, it may be a good idea to get it tested.

    I've been struggling with my diagnosis of type 2 diabetes for the last 4 years and two hospitalizations. My story is nearly identical to yours. I finally went to an endocrinologist and had the C-Peptide tested. I was at less than 0.1 (range 0.8-3.8). I just got these results today.

    I am another one of MANY ppl misdiagnosed as type 2 when in fact I was LADA type 1. I also had to ask for tests. We did the GAD antibodies test, not the c-peptide, but that was enough to confirm autoimmune diabetes. The lack of curiosity my doctor showed was super alarming in retrospect when I was in the same boat of not being able to eat ANYTHING without going high. Doctors need to know that type 1 can hit at any age and any weight! Sooo many assumptions are made when they see an adult who might be overweight coming in with high blood glucose. It’s infuriating :)

    Except for gestational diabetes you are exactly telling my story. 0.8 c-peptide. Low to no carb diet still makes my blood sugar levels go high. I am just starting this journey this week. I had to insist that the blood tests be done. I kept telling the doctor something was wrong, very wrong. Well, there sure is and the blood tests prove it.

    I had high prolactin with out ever being pregnant and my insulin was high too. No doctor had kept track so now I got a bunch of blood work done and protein sensitivity test and my triglicéridos were high but my blood sugar dropped randomly everyday no matter what I did and both my HDL and LDL are high so for now I think I have opposite than you.

    Well, if you are on insulin of course you can eat high fruit and lots of beans. Sadly my fasting c peptide is lower than this lady. I am negative on autoimmune markers. I keep my blood glucose in Check by weighing 98 lbs at 5’2 and eating raw foods. It’s very tough but I am fighting the outside insulin to the bitter end.

    2021 my C-peptide was at 7.00 ng/ml , 2024 Started to feel thirsty all the time and with kind of active life style still was having high diabetes reading of 240+. Repeated my C-Peptide and its 1.79 ng/ml even though ref range is 1.1-4.4. My Doctor thinks its a LADA, I am waiting for GAD anti Body test results. Doctor asked me to use Gliclazide tablet 40 MG along with Metformin 2000MG a day. Got some protein in urine as well.

    Hello I just got my blood test results for C-Peptide and Insulin. Both of these were fasting results, C-Peptide is 3.0 ng/ml and Insulin is 16.6 uIU/ml. So, what does this mean? Thank you.

    • @KJ-um1gq
      @KJ-um1gq 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      A 3.0 ng/ml indicates that your pancreas is healthy and you're producing sufficient insulin. If you're still having blood sugar issues, then the problem is that your insulin sensitivity is lacking - this puts you in type 2 territory. Good news, Type 2 is easily reversible. Just go on a low-fat, high carb plant-based diet. If you stick to this diet, your blood sugar will normalize within 6 weeks. Many such cases.

    I’m very frustrated because I’m a very lean and active middle age woman. I even do competitive natural body building as a hobby. So I get my bloodwork done periodically to monitor my thyroid etc..So I’ve had my c-peptide ordered twice not really knowing what it was. The first time was 1/21/20 and it was 0.56ng/ml and recently on 8/27/20 and it was 0.77 ng/ml. I was put on Metformin 500mg QD-BID depending on need because my fasting blood glucose was 99 with the latest being 91. I’m at a lost and struggling with the new thought that I could very possibly have LADA (Type 1.5). 🤯. I guess the next step is to get the diabetic autoimmune antibodies panel done correct? Thank you 🙏🏽

      See this page: www.masteringdiabetes.org/c-peptide-diabetes-test/. You have to be really strict with diet and exercise if you want to have a chance to avoid insulin. You've also to be careful about not triggering any autoimmune reaction that may finish off your beta-cells.

      Do healthy clean keto. Lower carb, good high fat and moderate protein. U can reverse your diabetic by doing that. I am sure you will see a great results. Stay safe and healthy 🙏 . Do not restrict yourself to fruits or vegetables only
      That is for sure another name for starvation. Have quality healthy nutrition food by lowering your carb in take. This theory of them (eating high carb fruits and vegetables) is super wrong. Disbetic regardless of being 1 or 2 or 1.5 means allergy to carb. U do not go and pour a gasoline on fire!!!!! Stay safe and healthy

    I have been fasting for about 93 hours. I feel good. But my blood glucose (in the 200 to 250 range without meds before fast) still has not fallen below 144 mg/dl. I would have thought that after 72 hours or so there would be no stored glycogen and that liver gluconeogenesis would have ended. Where is the blood glucose coming from?

    • @imaginarynumber8520
      @imaginarynumber8520 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      From breaking down your lean mass and from glycerol and acetone. You can't starve your body of glucose.

    • @nirvana328
      @nirvana328 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      you also release glucose from your liver and muscles which is stored as glycogen. and you have to remember you may also have insulin resistance so you body will also have high sugars until it is more sensitive to insulin
